  1. Not excited about these options - in many ways Kiner-Falefa was the perfect signing. He had 2.9 WAR and less power than Correa, but he had decent ABs - better than many of our players and would have been with us another year. I know he was the price we paid to get rid of Donaldson, but.... None of the high enders should become Twins - I do not like the long term megabuck deals and there will be a lot of buy remorse in a few years. I do like the KC ide However I also think that Martin is the real answer - and even possibly a high rising Lee (I would love that). Forget overpaying and hoping for luck from without.
  2. I enjoy and appreciate what Arraez does and I am happy with him as MVP - the slump in the second half holds back some of my enthusiasm. During this year my admiration for Miranda increased and my expectations for him are high. He had a difficult start, but then was the one Twin who knew how to hit with RISP! 268/325/426 are impacted by his start, but one stat 66 RBIs is the key for me. This rookie led the team in RBIs. Correa was second. Nick Gordon would be up on my list too - he did everything we needed - infield and outfield and hit 272 with at 753 OPS. Buxton did not play enough to rank for me. It seems like every year is a SSS and everyone gets excited. But my rankings would be: Arraez Miranda Correa Gordon Ryan Duran For MVP I prefer position players so Ryan and Duran being last on my list only means they would be first in Pitcher of the year.
  3. We have Urshela and Miranda and then there is Julien. Keep Lewis at SS until Lee pushes him out.
  4. Carmago is the only one worth talking about. Anyone who has potential at Catcher is a keeper..
  5. Hard for me to choose - I still think Ryan from opening day to the most dependable starter all year would get my vote, but I love Duran.
  6. Pitching is key - if we believe in Lewis then it is not worth spending big on SS. Congratulations to Palacios - he might make an impact with Detroit.
  7. I am delighted with Gordon and the joy he adds to a team that too often seems to lack fire. I might add Ryan to this list as well.
  8. Well they are retaining all their coaches in all their positions - so much for progress. That was a buzzkill announcement.
  9. I agree, but I hope Alcala comes back strong and Moran develops to a solid reliever. Then there are the relievers in Fall League that I know nothing about.
  10. Could Martin the fill in for Lewis in the beginning of the season? Isola not catching and not hitting is too bad for a team that needs a second C. Other than Lewis and Julien this AFL group does not seem as good as some of the past selections.
  11. Tough choice (which is nice) because Miranda really did hold the lineup together and at times Ryan was the SP rotation all by himself. Add three rookies this good next year and we can stop worrying about FA signings.
  12. Right now the future does not look that promising, The idea that this FO can make the right decisions is not that apparent. Can we just follow the playoffs as long as the Guardians last and put off the anguish until later?
  13. We have gone from replacing Kyle Garlick to signing Aaron Judge - is this Garlick's replacement? If so I hope he can hold up his end of the bargain. When a team blows up like ours, when the season careens to a crashlanding I guess these are the things we have to dream about - it will be a long winter.
  14. The Guardians just won their series - can we send a video to the Twins - this is how you do it
  15. Those pitchers are complete unknowns for me. I will be interested in the notes that TD provides.
  16. He pitched low impact innings and often gave up at least a walk and a hit. No he is not to be trusted and if we lose another season with him it is on the FO. Cut bait, move on, let someone else unleash the mighty Pagan.
  17. Good humor - I will take the Cardinals because I have always liked them and there is something about Pujols on a championship team that feels right. I like the Mariners, but my heart is with the Blue Jays. I like having two birds at the top of the season.
  18. Miranda - yes, Wallner DH only, Lewis and Buxton have so much potential and so many injuries! Who is next - Contreras played himself off the 40 man. Palacios is a backup defensive specialist if we need it. Hamilton should be gone. It felt like there should be more on the list. Still wish we had Steer.
  19. There is a sense of arrogance that does not play well in Minnesota. Communicate and do so in a fan friendly and honest way. Don't tell us about Pagan's great pitches when he can't command them or close a game. Drop the duds - remember Colome? We have twice gotten a closer that took us down for the first half of the season. Fundamentals not analytics. I don't mind information, but keep it simple. From manager to FO we get this white wash when things go bad and that is not how we function. Step up and take the blame, step up and hold players accountable. We do not need a Billy Martin again, but we need some of his fire. Somehow this group of management experts just feels like they are too complacent - they might not be, but they need to show us. Take us along as the Team grows, don't hide when Lopez comes in and turns back to a pumpkin.
  20. Good for Luis - even though I wanted Judge to get the triple, I am delighted that my favorite Twin succeeded. Thanks for batting practice Chicago. I know this is a downer question, but how could we fall to 14 games behind in the Central when we were near first a short time ago? Glad for Varland - does he start for us next year?
  21. Berrios showed us that you can't judge a rookie by his first season. So the answer to the question is I have no idea who's going to do it. But I hope somebody steps forward. Ober surprise me and I'm willing to be surprised by another two or three pitchers.
  22. The Sox will finish 500 - the Twins... The only thing I was interested in was Winder. Sorry he had a bad game. I thought, going in to the season that he would pass Ober, which certainly isn't true.
  23. Talk to Tom Kelly about fundamentals. Talk to Molitor about running. Talk to Gardy about fan relations. Stop telling us the team really did well, despite losing - we all have eyes. Stop sticking with RP when they prove they are not good - Colombe, Pagan, Lopez...Start sticking with SP when they are going well. If the give up a hit in their last inning it does not mean they are done.
  24. Ober is a reminder of why we do not want more dumpster diving SP. We have enough young arms, and an almost full rotation of veterans with IL returnees. The only pitcher we should consider is that elusive number 1.
