  1. Glad they are playing Julien at 1b. If France gets dealt at the deadline we might see Julien and Clemens playing first base. Unless we can get a true first baseman, which would be nice. Who is this Fedko guy?! I've never heard of him, but if this breakout is real that would be a great development. Glad Jenkins looks healthy. Five steals in ten games is impressive. Maybe he ends up as more of a speed over power guy....
  2. Why is Keirsey using up a valuable roster spot. He's an automatic out at the plate so he's basically just a pinch runner and defensive sub. They didn't even have him run for Vasquez late in the game though. If Austin Martin shows he's healthy I'd much rather see him as our 4rth OF, or even give Mccusker a true shot this time platooning with Wallner. The fact Keirsey and Bride are on a major league team that is supposedly trying to compete is laughable:(
  3. I heard Kyle Gibson was available for the league minimum. Couldn't hurt to grab him if there's a chance Ober needs an IL stint. It's clear we have no viable in house options in AAA other than Adams, who should already be up in the pen as our long reliever/piggyback arm. I'd rather see him get a chance than Wentz. Correa needs to step in up and find a way to quit grounding out to SS every at bat. He's actually been more of a liability than a threat at the plate with RISP with his double play tendency...
  4. Sure looks like we screwed up getting rid of Ronny Henriquez:(
  5. If Martin proves he is healthy he should immediately replace the automatic out that is Keirsey. Next we just have to replace Bride with someone who can hit....
  6. Same thing they have with the other waiver wire pickup from MIA. A guy who couldn't cut it in the majors, so he comes to a major league minor league team, the Twins. Why they won't give Adams a chance and continue to dumpster dive is beyond me. The management of this team just makes me laugh. It's like watching Moneyball but if it was a comedy. Where our GM is secretly working for a division foe and actively trying to mess up the Twins organization.
  7. How much longer until Correa and Buxton start asking to be traded? How many insanely stupid decisions can this ownership make? It's almost like watching a parody of how an MLB team should be run.
  8. I haven't heard much about this Klein guy but he looks to be pitching a good season. Glad to see Culpeper finding success in AA along with Gonzalez. Both these guys could be the real deal. Awesome to see DeBarge with 40 SB already!
  9. With Lewis and Raya both getting completely rocked this year and Morris now on the IL with the dreaded forearm strain, the Twins are once again low on SP options. Feels like we've been here before doesn't it lol. The only real AAA pitcher that has had success is Adams. Being a bulk guy in the bullpen is exactly what the big league club needs right now. So of course instead of giving him a shot they continue to sign waiver wire rejects from other teams...I really don't get this teams thinking.
  10. I'm not so sure. I love his power potential, but so far we've seen him go into these prolonged slumps were he looks lost at the plate and is a K machine. Then he goes on a tear and hits 6 HR in two weeks. If he can find a way to be a bit more consistent it would be great. I know that most won't agree but at this point I'd rather see Larnach in the box over Wallner....
  11. If we had any semblance of a legit pitching pipeline, we wouldn't have signed 3 waiver wire pitchers within the last two weeks lol
  12. I'm so tired of hearing Rocco saying just that. We don't worry about the results because we know our process is sound. Really? If the team is not getting results then your process sucks!
  13. Julien should be playing first base everyday to see if it's a viable option if we decide to trade France. I'm also curious about the pitching philosophy. Why are our SP only throwing 3-4 innings? If they make it to MLB they need to be able to go deeper, but if they haven't been conditioned to ever do that, how can we expect them to do it when they get the call. You can't use handfuls of pitchers everyday it's not viable. I'm real worried about our pitching prospects. The supposed pitching pipeline sure seems to have dried up FAST. At least we have a few guys raking. Gonzalez and Culpeper have been fun to watch. If only Jenkins and Rodriguez could start hitting like them we'd be in good shape ;)
  14. Not much. Between him, Wentz and now Urias, Falvey is truly desperate and dumpster diving. Do we really think picking up players who have been fired from teams just as bad as us is going to help our team? You roster these type of players, most of the time your going to get that type of level of play :(. Just goes to show they have zero hope in our supposed pitching pipeline if they would rather hire waiver wire castoffs than give any of our pitchers a shot. At least give Adams a chance in the pen, he's earned a look. These new guys, absolutely not.
  15. I'm guessing they will do what they've done the last few years. Almost nothing. It would make way too much sense to get any value we can from all the impending free agents and if we can get a good enough haul, think about trading Duran or an OF. I think they'll make one or two waiver wire fringe type moves just to say they did something and have a plan. Which we know they don't. Deciding to extend our clueless manager after last year's collapse and now a repeat of the same thing even earlier this year? Is this a joke?!
  16. Nice to see Raya have a nice outing, hopefully he can build on it. Gonzalez is looking like a true prospect. If he keeps it up I can see a promotion to AAA late this year with a possible MLB debut next year. Not too much power, but could be a great table setter at the top of a lineup. Culpeper seems like a solid hitter as well. DeBarge has been fun to watch. The twins desperately need more speed and athleticism like this kid!
  17. I think we should get what we can for the impending free agents like Paddack, Castro, Bader, France and Vasquez. There should be some value there. Then, if we can get a good enough return, maybe move Duran. He's going to be getting expensive and Jax is a more than capable replacement. Ober would have had value earlier in the year, but I think that ship has sailed. They should try to load up on AA and or AAA pitching because our SP in St Paul this year look nowhere near ready....
  18. The opener will only work if the SP or bulk innings guy can keep your team in the game and lately Festa, Ober, SWR and Paddack have been unable to do that. You also need enough quality arms in the bullpen that using one to open the game doesn't hurt your chances of having impact arms available in the late innings. I still don't understand why Adams isn't being given a chance. I would much rather see him as our long man/ opener/ piggyback starter over cast offs like Wentz and the new waiver wire pickup from MIA....
  19. I like the power potential, but unless he learns to put the ball in play when not hitting home runs, he's going to be a 200 hitter with loads of strikeouts. If another team comes calling I would see if we could get anything interesting for him. Larnach is a better hitter, Buxton is solid. We have E Rodriguez coming up. Castro, unless he's traded. I'm not sure any team would give up much for Wallner alone now though after this prolonged slump.
  20. Hopefully Ohl can continue getting good results at AAA because all our other starters there have been bad. Raya, Morris and Lewis have all been shelled this year. I really hope we can get some minor league pitching at the deadline. Selling off guys like Bader, France, Vasquez and Castro might be able to get us some AA SP depth. It's clear we need better pitching help and we know the Twins aren't going to pay for it.
  21. It's becoming pretty clear something is off with Ober. He's giving up 3-4 HR per start and his velo is down 1-2 mph. When he only throws 91 to begin with, he can't get away with losing 2 mph on his pitches. We should try to trade him before his value tanks anymore. I'm afraid we've seen the best of Ober already.... Wentz needs to go and I highly doubt the new waiver wire pickups from MIA will be any better. Why do they keep dumpster diving other teams cast offs instead of giving Adams a shot? He's already on the 40 man. It's time to see if these young pitchers are going to be viable major leagues or not.
  22. The fact that the twins keep picking up pitchers from the waiver wire who have been released by even worse teams than us shows how desperate we are to find pitching...
  23. He is the best player on our team this year for sure. It's just too bad that he's the best player on a bad team....
  24. Forearm strain for Morris, tommy John surgery coming? It would explain the struggles this year. Our pitching prospects have pretty much all had rough years so far. At least some of our position players are looking good. Gonzalez and Culpeper are playing like they want a shot at MLB next year!
  25. I think if you can't face a lineup more than twice or go past the fifth inning, you won't last as a starter, nor should you. This teams pitching was keeping us relevant up until now. The pitching has collapsed along with the defense and hitting. Some major roster shake up needs to happen.
