Nice to see Dasan Hill pitching well, but when will they let him pitch more than 3 innings? Same with Prelipp. I'm worried about Morris. Him, Raya, C Lewis have all been hit real hard in AAA this year. Our SP depth might not be what we thought it was after Festa. Gonzalez continues to take, he might be in St Paul before long. Lower down the minors, Culpeper and DeBarge are looking great. 28 steals already for deBarge!

Agree with the article except in regards to Lewis. It hasn't just been this year, but the end of last year too. He looks uncomfortable and awkward at the plate, totally lost. He's a hole in our lineup right now that we can't afford. I think he could benefit greatly from a minor league trip. Get his timing and confidence back and then come back ready to mash. He doesn't look completely healthy either which may be a factor. Either way, they need to do something with him. Same with Alcala and Funderburk....

Our top pen arms are throwing too many innings, we all know that. We are going to need some other relief arms to step up. Stewart and Sands are ok options most days, same with Coloumbe. I really hope he can come back soon because we need him. Topa has looked pretty good too. No clue why Rocco used Alcala over him last night. It is clear, or should be clear, that Alcala and Funderburk cannot be trusted in a close game. I know they want a lefty for the pen, but both these guys are nothing but a blow up waiting to happen. Time to prove all this supposed minor league pitching depth. SWR could be a great long relief arm who could eat 2-3 innings every now and again to save the pen. Travis Adams, Mcgaughan . I'd give these guys a go. Why waste two important roster spots on guys you can't throw out there?

Man Gabby Gonzalez looks great this year. Does he make it to AAA late this year? Sure seems like Eeles is healthy enough. If he continues to hit maybe he becomes an option later in the year too. I'm starting to really worry about Raya. The kid's got strikeout stuff, but he only pitches 2-4 innings tops. I think a move to the pen might be an eventual inevitability.

Twins need offense more than they need more pitching. If we're going to trade a high level prospect or two, it should be for a big bat.

Ok seriously, Wallner needs to be in the Twins lineup today. Same with Buxton. When we've been struggling to score runs, you don't keep a guy in AAA that has 5 HRS in 7 days. Hopefully Bader doesn't need an IL trip, Keirsey needs to be the one sent down. Lewis also needs a reset in the minors. Problem is we don't have any viable IF that can be called up to help us. Not until Keaschal is ready. Hopefully Zebby can pitch a good game. I'm getting the feeling if it's another short start or he gets lit up, he'll lose his spot to SWR or Festa. Either way, SEA will be a true test. Both teams have great pitching, might see some close low score games.

These are crucial development years he's missing out on. The kid needs at bats and innings in CF. Hopefully he gets fully healthy and does well in AAA the rest of the way. Could be very beneficial to play in AFL this year too in order to make up for lost time. Twins have a lot riding on this kid, sure hope he doesn't turn into another Buxton or Lewis....only a part time player.

His stance and overall approach at the plate just seems way off. If he's still hurt and came back too early, maybe another IL stint is in order. I think the best plan would be to have him sent down to the minors, out of the spotlight with minimal stress and work on the swing. Get some results, get his confidence back and then call him up when he's earned it. They can't keep running him out there the way he's going though, the lineup is struggling too much as it is.

With the Twins desperate for offense, they need to get Wallner called up. Him and Buxton being activated this weekend would really help our struggling lineup. I really hope Gonzalez can keep this up, especially since I'm really starting to lose confidence in our top outfielders. Rodriguez seems overwhelmed at AAA and Jenkins is starting to look like Buxton/Lewis 2.0. How much more time is he going to miss because of a sore ankle? These are crucial development years and the kids never on the field. I wonder how fast they promote Eeles to get him back to AAA. With Royce Lewis needing a reset in the minors, the big league club could use an infielder who can hit.

Twins are in desperate need of offense. Buxton and Wallner replacing Mccusker and Keirsey should help, a long with Bader starting again. Keirsey got a fair chance, but he can't hit. We have enough OF's with Buxton, Bader, Wallner, Larnach and Castro. Now they need to send Lewis down to St Paul to get his head straight and find his swing. Start Clemens at 2nd and Lee or Castro at 3rd. Keaschal can't come back soon enough. I really hope we pick up a bat or two at the trade deadline, just not sure where they'll look to upgrade. 1st/3rd base and catcher would be my guess.

He's been lost at the plate for some time now, going back to last year even. He's a liability at the plate for a team that's already struggling to score runs. Lee can play a more than capable 3rd base. Send Lewis to AAA to get his head right, find his swing and get his confidence back. Call him back up once he's earned it and can actually help the team in the second half.

Glad to see Wallner crushing it. Him and Buxton will be a huge boost to this lineup. Mccusker and Keirsey back to AAA. We just need Keaschal back now. I think Royce Lewis needs a ST Paul trip to get his swing back. I'm a bit worried about our AAA arms. Raya, Lewis and Morris all look like they're taking a major step back. Hopefully they can work it out. What's up with Jenkins? Is he going to miss all year because of his ankle? Do we have another Buxton or Lewis on our hands?

With the way things are going, at least in the short term, Clemens should be playing second base and Lee should be at 3rd. Clemens is raking and Lewis looks lost. I think he needs some time in the minors to work things out. Hopefully Buxton and Wallner are back soon. The way Buck was hitting before the injury and with Wallner crushing the ball in St Paul, the lineup should be much better.

While Keaschal, Buxton and Wallner should definitely help the offense, I think the season long struggles of Lewis, Castro and Lee will even things out. Our pitching has been great, although with Coloumbe going down the depth of our bullpen, especially lefties, is beginning to show. Unless the team figures out how to start scoring runs, I could see a big drop in the standings coming...

Royce either needs an IL trip to get healthy, or a reset at AAA. He's a hole in our lineup right now that we just can't afford.

Wallner sure looks ready. Probably will get the call Monday and get Mccusker sent back to St Paul so he can play everyday again. Sitting on the bench wasn't helping him. I think Adams could be very useful out of the big league pen. Finally, a reliever who could go 3-4 innings, could really save our pen and be insurance against short starts by Paddack/Zebby or Festa. Culpeper is on fire, I'm guessing he joins Gonzalez in AA soon. Hopefully Eeles moves up soon too. What is up with Jenkins?!? Dude sprained his ankle I get it, but to miss a quarter of the season? Same thing happened last year with the hamstring. Is he really this brittle at his young age, or are the Twins being overly protective of him? Either way, he's missing way too much valuable experience and development time. He needs to be on the field everyday. I really hope this guys not a bust, they've got a lot of plans around him....

Doesn't seem like he ever had the stamina to start. Simplify the pitch mix, keep his best 3 or 4 pitches and try him in 1-2 inning relief outings. Maybe he can turn things around. Him, Cory Lewis and Morris have been a bit of a disappointment so far this year. Looks like Adams is best suited for a call up to the pen when we need an arm. Macgaghen has also pitched really well in St Paul.

Nice to get a win, but man our lineup did not look good. Swinging and chasing out of the zone, watching strikes go by. Lewis and Lee are really starting to worry me. It's obvious Lewis is still hurt, the guy can barely jog to first, so he'll be ok if he gets healthy. Lee on the other hand, looks like a backup utility IF at best. Keaschal coming back should really help this infield. I'm also pretty bummed about their use of Mccusker. Royals start a lefty and he's not in the lineup? Now today it looks like they're starting Keirsey over Mccusker? Keirsey is nothing more than a pinch runner or defensive sub, he's a black hole at the plate. Why call up Mccusker if he's not going to get a chance?

How Good Has Twins First Baseman Ty France Been So Far?
LambchoP replied to Cody Pirkl's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
France has been a real solid addition, especially at basically league minimum. Imagine where we'd be if they had to rely on Miranda and Julien as our first base options! I'd like to see the Twins develop a true first baseman long term. Larnach, Mccusker, maybe Keaschal. If not, a FA signing would be nice so we don't have this revolving door at first base year after year.
