I wish they would give Eeles a shot. He could replace Bride on the roster until Keaschal is back. In the OF they could potentially improve the offense by dumping Keirsey for Mccusker or eventually E Rodriguez or Gabby Gonzalez who has had a great year. Keirsey adds nothing to this team. At least Bride pitches lol....

I wonder what we might be able to get for France and/or Bader at the deadline? Both have been great defensively and have both hit better than expected.

Nice to see Gonzalez and Culpeper having great seasons and making it to AA. I think Gabby has a shot to get to AAA by seasons end. DeBarge and Amick have looked good down in A ball as well. Now if we could just get some of our upper level pitchers going we'd have some options for the big league club....

Brewers 17, Twins 6: Evisceration
LambchoP replied to Matt Braun's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
Wentz needs to be let go. We have Adams who has been one of the few successful AAA pitchers we have this year. Call him up and give him innings in the pen. It's past time to start seeing this so called pitching pipeline. Offensively, Keirsey and Bride need to go. They are clearly not a part of the Twins' long term plans, so why not give some of our prospects a shot? I'd like to see Eeles take Brides place, at least until Keaschal is back. In the OF, Keirsey could be replaced by Mccusker. It's too bad Martin is still hurt, he was doing well.is there any timeline for his return?- 51 replies

Carson McCusker Should Be On The Roster Right Now
LambchoP replied to Cody Pirkl's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
I'd like to see him replace Keirsey on the roster. Keirsey is another left handed OF bat who can't hit. He's just a late game defensive sub and pinch runner. And not even a good pinch runner as he gets caught stealing way too much. Why not give Mccusker a shot and platoon him with Wallner in RF?- 46 replies

If he's really that great, he probably won't be available to us. I do like the idea of investing in high level college arms, particularly starters. We've seen how quickly a rotation can fall apart and depth being tested. You can never have too much pitching. Let's load up on arms. The more guys we develop, the better chance we have of some of them working out.

Put Byron Buxton in the Home Run Derby
LambchoP replied to Peter Labuza's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
If Buxton doesn't make the all star team that is just sad. The all stars aren't even picked for being the best players of the current year anymore but basically picked by popularity meaning large market teams will get way more influence than small to mid market clubs. Typical baseball though.... -
It's really nice to see some guys at A+ really putting up some good numbers. Culpeper, DeBarge, Winokur and Gonzalez before he moved up to AA. I wonder when Culpeper gets his promotion. The pitching side of things hasn't looked as promising. I think we should look to acquire some more SP at the trade deadline and off-season. Of course I'm not ready to give up on Raya, Morris or Lewis, they just look like they need more time in the minors. Raya especially probably needs to be sent down a level or two and try to get himself right.

What will it take to acquire either a young controllable SP or a young controllable 1b/3rd baseman? We also need a viable MLB catcher to pair with Jeffers next year. I'm hoping we get what we can for these guys on expiring contracts. Letting them walk for nothing at the end of the year is a complete waste. Some of these guys like Castro, Paddack, Coloumbe and Bader should have some real value, especially if packaged together with a prospect or two....

Wallner Correa and Bader have looked completely lost at the plate. If they keep on losing and are out of it come deadline time, they should sell off expiring contracts and let all the kids play. Audition some of our pitching prospects like Adams, Morris and Lewis along with guys like Mccusker, Eeles and may e E Rodriguez. See what we have in terms of starters for next year and see where we need to sign FA.

What more do they need to see from Raya before moving him down to AAA and putting him in the pen? This year has been a disaster for him. At least we've got some you g offense going well like Gonzalez DeBarge and Culpeper.

They are not a playoff team this year. They should hold on to our prospects and get what they can for expiring contracts. Guys like Bader, Castro, France and Vasquez. Recoup something for these guys rather than lose them for nothing in the off-season.

Brooks Lee’s Recent Hot Streak Is Not What It Seems
LambchoP replied to Cody Christie's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
Well, he's putting up better numbers than Correa this year, but then again so is Castro. 37 million well spent for a replacement level production. There needs to be some serious roster shake up this off-season. Can we get our new owners yet?!? -
What have we got to lose? Keirsey and Bride can't hit. Call up Gasper and let him play second. Clemens has come back to earth. Lee can cover third. At least until Keaschal is back why not try it. May e with everyday playing time like he's getting in St Paul, he could start to provide some offense for this pathetic lineup.

Gonzalez playing like he wants an MLB debut next year! Glad Jenkins got a few hits. He needs to be playing everyday and if he's truly healthy, logging innings in center field. Anyone heard any updates on Austin Martin? It's like he ceased to exist after re injuring his hamstring. Olivar seems to have a decent bat, is he a legit catcher? We really need one at the MLB level to pair with Jeffers.

Week in Review: The Bottom Falls Out

Another pathetic performance by the lineup but pitching wise, why the hell did Rocco pull SWR after five innings and only 53 pitches? The dude had only given up one hit?!

How many times have we seen guys on first and second with no outs, only to quickly see a pop out/ strikeout quickly followed by a double play grounder to SS? Bring back the bunt. When your offense is struggling as bad as we are, you need to manufacturer runs. Rocco's unwillingness to change up game plans is killing this team. Twins need a true reset. New owners, new manager and a roster shake up ...
-
Adams keeps pitching well. If SWR gets lit up again today I think they should give Adams a chance in the rotation. DeBarge with 35 SB already?! Is he leading the league in steals? It would be fun to have a threat like that on the major league team. I'm a bit bummed they called up Keirsey to fill Lewis' roster spot. There was really nobody better that could actually help produce a little offense? We need hits and rbi's more than we need a pinch runner. Would have rather seen Eeles get a shot. Any news on Austin Martin? He re hurt his hamstring awhile back and we have heard anything in a long time. He was having a solid year at AAA before the IL placement....

Unless we somehow go on a winning streak before the deadline, I expect the team to do a bit of both. Probably look to sell on guys that have expiring contracts while at the same time, see if we can pick up some major league talent for next year. That's what they should do, but we all know they'll probably pick up a waiver wire arm and call it a day, citing all the "returning talent" as just as good as a trade lol. This team has no fight at all, and you can't really blame them when it all starts with ownership looking to do the bare minimum on a bare minimum budget.

Gonzalez has looked great even after his promotion to AA. Now let's see what Culpeper can do there, I think he's proved enough at A+.

I'm starting to wonder if Lewis will ever be a viable starter. With all of his leg injuries, he can't even run to first base without pulling something. If there is any kind of market for him at all, I'd see what we could get for him. Lee seems to be coming around, and with guys like Clemens and Keaschal, I think we have infielders aplenty.

Doesn't look like the Twins have any viable pitching candidates in AAA right now. If Ober goes on the IL, which is looking more and more likely, the Twins are in real trouble. They're going to need to try to acquire one or two starters from outside the organization. Maybe one trade and one dumpster dive waiver wire pickups? Either way, the deep "pitching pipeline" surplus myth has been debunked. There truly is no such thing as having enough pitching.

A week ago I would have said we were wasting a roster spot on Bride. Of course now with the utter collapse of our rotation,Bride has pitched three times in the past week or so. Apparently we don't need a long man in our pen, we need a position player to pitch in blowouts to save our real relief pitchers. This is getting really sad...
