  1. Twins aren't making the playoffs this year. They should trade off expiring contracts and get the best talent possible in return. Call up the young kids and see what we have for next year. Mccusker should get everyday at bats for a month. See if he's a viable big league. Maybe he could be an option at first. Give Eeles a shot. Maybe he's a decent Castro replacement at utility. See if any of these young position players can possibly help us next year. If so, we can focus our off-season attention on pitching. We need at least one solid SP. Most likely a few good relief pitchers too. Coloumbe will be traded leaving us with no decent lefties in the pen. Again....
  2. Would much rather have seen one of our own guys get a shot in the pen. Raya, Prelipp. Someone without an ERA with double digits lol.
  3. I think we can do better. The Twins have needed a legit everyday first baseman for years now. If they can't sign one this off-season then they need to trade for one. If not, maybe try Lewis out at first, if he can find his power swing again....
  4. I'm betting on another boring deadline with maybe one waiver wire deal. They will cite "returning talent" like Lopez and Keaschal as the reason for not needing to add to the team. I wish they'd at least trade off expiring contracts and try to load up for next season.
  5. Clemens, Julien and maybe Sabato should get looks at first to see if any of them are viable starters there next year. If nobody runs away with the job, we know that we AGAIN, need a first baseman. I like Clemens. Good power, good defense. If he can raise his AVG a bit we could do a lot worse.
  6. 2nd base probably, depending on where Keaschal ends up. Maybe 3rd base if Lewis eventually moves to first...
  7. I could see Culpeper and Gonzalez getting called up to AAA this year, especially if one of our OF are traded. I'm hoping Martin gets called up to replace Keirsey. Maybe we can stash Keirsey on the bench in St Paul and give the everyday at bats to Gonzalez, Mccusker, Fedko and Rodriguez ( if he can ever stay on the field)
  8. Fedko, Culpeper and Gonzalez are all tearing up AA and should move up the prospect rankings while Rodriguez and some of our pitchers moves down. Do we have any info on E Rod's new injury? Is this what we can expect from him, 2-5 IL trips each year? That's not good for one of our top 5 prospects but also not uncommon for this organization unfortunately.
  9. Don't trade Ryan. Unless a total tear down and rebuild is coming. This would be a total waste of Buxton and Correa's contract though. These two a long with Lopez are signed the next few years and are towards the end of their prime. If we're ever going to go for it, it needs to be soon. I say sell off expiring contracts, make some major league debuts as a try out for next year and start gearing up for 2026.
  10. Glad the Twins are finally with the times and looking for power arms that can get strikeouts rather than the pitch to contact soft throwers of the Terry Ryan era. Of course with power arms they have the injury potential to deal with, and all but the best won't throw too many innings. But strikeouts, velocity and movement rule in today's game. Hopefully some of these kids work out. The team will always need home grown pitching.
  11. Between Culpeper and now Houston it sure looks like the Twins are trying to lock down Correa insurance, or dare I say.... replacement. Not sure Brooks Lee will ever hit enough to be our everyday starting SS.
  12. Gabby Gonzalez has had a monster year. If they keep it up I don't see why him and Culpeper couldn't get some time in AAA later this year. Very promising start for Hill. Him and Prelipp could be a nasty 1-2 lefty punch. What's up with E Rodriguez? Will he ever be healthy, or are we looking at a kid so I jury prone he'll never play a full season? If he is this prone to getting hurt this young, I can't imagine he'll get MORE durable as he gets older. Do we look to trade him? Hold onto him for another year and see if he can make the big leagues before trying to shop him?
  13. Whoever we grab, I hope they pan out and move quickly through the system like Culpeper. We have a few good looking bats at AA already, we could use some real good SP prospects. As the saying goes, there is no such thing as too much pitching:)
  14. We need Ryan if we plan to be competitive next year....
  15. I'd really like to see SWR allowed to go deeper into games, especially if he keeps pitching so well like he's been doing. For the offense, if we're struggling to score runs in the middle innings, try a few bunts, hit n runs and stolen bases. Manufacturer some runs rather than sitting back and waiting on the home runs that may never come. Aside from the occasional solo HR, Wallner looks a bit lost at the plate. 2-3 strikeouts everyday. Does he need another minor league reset? Austin Martin is hitting.340 in St Paul.......
  16. Most of these guys don't look to appealing. They should only do this if they can get a SP who is near major league ready with plenty of upside. A SP and another position prospect in the 10-20 range. That, or a near ready, controllable catcher who can hit. We are weak at catcher and with our AAA SP struggles this year, we need more starters close to the show.
  17. Also very curious about this. I thought he might have been hurt but no, he was fine. He's had a few weird mental mistakes like this during the season. Like that one play at 2nd base where he got the out but for no reason didn't throw to first base to get the double play. There needs to be some kind of consequences for these types of screw ups. He's a veteran, not a rookie....
  18. Typical Twins. Start off horrible then go on a win streak to get our hopes up, then fall apart for a month. Then, before the all star break and trade deadline they go on a bit of a run, preventing ownership from selling off expiring contracts and making moves like they should. I expect very little to be done just like last year. They'll claim we have enough talent coming back from injury to be a playoff team. Then after the break we'll have another horrible month, knocking us out of the wildcard race once again....definition of insanity anyone?
  19. Keirsey is good in the OF but that's IT. He's an automatic out at the plate and even with his plus speed he's not a very good base stealer. Martin is looking healthy and is hitting like .340 in AAA. I'd much rather see him up with the Twins than Keirsey. Should be much better offensively. Plus he has more defensive flexibility being able to cover 2nd as well as the OF.
  20. Jax is one of the best relievers in the league. Why mess around with that. We've got plenty of SP in the minors leagues with a lot of potential. They should prioritize developing the kids we have coming up.
  21. Really glad Raya has found something, we need him to be a solid SP for us. Now if we could get Morris and C Lewis to find some success we'd be set for depth. Offensively it's hard not to be excited about Culpeper and Gonzalez. This isn't just some month long hot streak, they've both been raking all year and haven't slowed down one bit in AA. Would be a bit aggressive, but I'd love to see them make it to St Paul this year. Speaking of St Paul, Julien sure seems to have found his bat. I hope they are playing him at first base. If the Twins can trade France, Julien should get a call up to play first base and see if he can stick with the big league club. Sabato would be fun to see too. Time to see what we've got in these young g kids. Eeles would be a fun guy to take over at utility if Castro is traded. Martin has good numbers since his return, why the heck is Keirsey still on the major league team?!? Why not give a few at bats to someone who might actually be on the big league club next year?
  22. This is a bit surprising given the lack of depth at 1b position in the Twins system, plus Severino's power potential. They must have thought he would never make enough contact or play the field well enough at any one position. Bummer, he was at one point one of our top prospects. Should have traded him few years back when he led the minors in home runs...
  23. I would love it if they locked up Ryan long term. He'd be a great building block for our rotation. I just don't see any large extensions or signings happening until we get new owners.
  24. That AA lineup is looking pretty legit lately. Jenkins, Culpeper, Gonzalez, Rosario and Fedko. It's too bad we don't have any pitchers having a successful season like a few of our hitters are having.....
  25. Please no. It WOULD be waiving the white flag, for this year and next. Joe is the kind of controllable young arm we need to target, not deal away. Fan morale is at an all time low. They trade Ryan or any other long term core players and they might lose the support of the fans for good.....
