  1. I know this is supposed to be a joke, but we ARE completely wasting Buxton's best season of his career. :(
  2. Good start for Prelipp. Seems to be our only SP doing well. Lewis got rocked again. Might be time to go back to not using the knuckler so much as a primary offering. I don't know who this Fedko kid is at AA but hitting .270 with 17 homers and 20 steals at the halfway point! Hopefully this is his true breakout and not just a one year heater. Twins need offense. Badly. I'd like to see Eeles get a true chance. Maybe if Castro is traded st the deadline they can use Eeles as our new utility guy.
  3. Twins should get whatever value they can trading away our expiring contracts. Castro, Paddack, Coloumbe, Bader, France and Vasquez. If we're looking for better returns that can help next year we could stand to trade one of Wallner or Larnach. Both are iffy on defense. Wallner has more power but Larnach is the better hitter, and can hold his own against lefties. Problem is they are both in a bit of a slump so their value won't be very high. Our best trade chip might be Duran. If we can trade him for a young controllable SP and a viable catcher to pair with Jeffers I'd say go for it. The way our AAA starting pitchers have looked this year, it's clear we need more and better talent.
  4. Is Maccaghen an option for a few spot starts? His numbers are better than Raya, Lewis, Morris or Dobnak. Give him a chance to start and bring Adams up to replace Wentz. Twins need to make a move for more pitching, and not rentals.
  5. Wentz needs to be DFA'D. Give his long relief role in the pen to Adams. Sign Kyle Gibson to cover a few starts until Ober or Mathews are back.
  6. Do the Twins train any pitchers to be starters anymore? Even if they do technically start a game, it seems they never stretch anyone out past three, maybe 4 innings. Maybe this is a normal thing in the minor leagues. I just think if you expect a guy to pitch deep into games once he makes it to AAA or the show, you have to condition them to do just that in the low minors...
  7. I wanted Twins to get a real first baseman. Was hoping for Walker, Goldschmidt. Maybe Casas or Diaz from Tampa. France was ok early on but should be traded at the deadline if we can get some kind of return for him. Here we are again, needing an everyday first baseman. They should either train Lewis to be the first baseman next year, maybe with Julien as backup, or they need to sign someone for more than a one year stopgap contract.
  8. Julien hitting like he wants a call up. I'm wondering, has he been playing any first base in St Paul? If France is traded at the deadline, that might be Julien's chance. Otherwise, it sure looks like Wallner could use a trip to AAA to get his swing right. Maybe they could give Mccusker a real chance this time.
  9. None of our options seem viable at the moment. We should really try to acquire a major league quality catcher to pair with Jeffers. If we can move Vasquez, hopefully we can get his replacement at the deadline. If not, it has to happen in the off-season.
  10. This team needs major starting pitching. Our hyped up pitching pipeline has completely dried up as most of our AAA arms have all had disastrous seasons so far. Hopefully we can acquire some kind of help for next year or the future at the trade deadline.
  11. What would it take in a trade to get Cabrera and Henriquez? Twins need real SP, a catcher and a true power hitting first baseman. None of this will happen at the deadline but hopefully we can acquire some kind of talent selling off all our expiring contracts. There's gotta be a team out there who'd give us something for some of these guys.... Paddack, Castro, Bader, France, Vasquez, Coloumbe. Duran if the return is right. They can't afford to sit out the deadline again like last year.
  12. Both Culpeper and Gonzalez have had great seasons and haven't slowed down at all since the move up to AA. Another intriguing player is DeBarge. 42 steals in the first half! If he can develop a little more power this kid could be fun to watch! Too bad we don't have any pitchers having great seasons like these position players..... We really need to be trying to acquire as much pitching as we can at the deadline.
  13. Fedko has had a solid season, hopefully he can keep it up and stay healthy. Twins need RH power bats for the OF. Hate to say it but Wallner may need to be a platoon guy. Another prospect who has impressed a ton is Gabby Gonzalez. Rough year last year but now is hitting like crazy. Not a ton of power or speed, but could be a great top of the lineup table setter if he can keep hitting well over .300. I also have to mention Kyle DeBarge. 42 stolen bases in the first half, that's crazy! Nice to see Jenkins and E Rodriguez healthy right now. We need both guys to stay healthy and get regular at bats and field time.
  14. Twins need pitching! All our upper level talent have been having terrible years. Raya, Morris, C Lewis. These were guys who were supposed to be MLB options this year, now it looks like Adams, who hasn't thrown more than 4 innings in a game this year, is our only option. We are sure going to need Prelipp, Soto and Hill to work out... Hopefully we can get some pitching talent at the trade deadline.
  15. We finally get to see a healthy, all star type season from Buxton and everyone else around him has career worst numbers. Such a Twins thing to happen. Good things countered by multiple bad things.
  16. Encouraging to see these hitters doing so well. This Fedko kid seems like he came out of nowhere! Gonzalez is on a season long tear. Hasn't slowed down in the least in AA and if he keeps it up he should see St Paul soon. Culpeper looks like our SS of the future and DeBarge is swiping bags like Ricky Henderson! Mccusker and Martin are both playing like they want a call up. Now if we could only see some of this kind of success with our pitchers our upcoming talent would be in great shape. As it is, we have no real pitchers in the upper minors that look anywhere close to MLB ready. I really hope they can pick up some young pitching at the trade deadline by selling off all our expiring contracts.
  17. After going hitless in 3 rehab games the Twins are rushing Lewis back to save this crappy offense. It's more likely he goes 0-15 or something and goes down with another leg injury, this time for the rest of the season. Hey, at least we got rid of Bride. Now if we could just do the same for Keirsey and Wentz. Why does Rocco play our worst looking lineup anytime we're on national TV? We always play like **** too. Definitely not making the team look attractive to any potential buyers out there.
  18. Expecting Lewis to come back and save this offense is a total pipe dream especially after he went hitless in his 3 rehab games. At least his activation gets Bride off the roster. Now we need to replace Keirsey. The kid is an automatic out and doesn't steal bases well enough to be an everyday pinch runner. If Martin proves he is healthy, and Mccusker keeps hitting, especially if Wallner continues to struggle, I'd call up either one of these guys and platoon them with Wallner. In the pen it's clear Wentz needs to go. Give Adams his shot at the long reliever role. He can't be worse than Wentz, plus he should actually be a part of our long term plans. Ober needs an IL break but I have no clue who we throw out there for a few starts. All our AAA options have ERA'S north of 7 lol. I said this in another thread, Kyle Gibson is available for the league minimum. Dude can at least give us innings while Ober gets some rest. Gibson has to be better than the two guys we just picked off waivers right?
  19. Something needs to happen before this gets any worse. IL stint or AAA stint for awhile. Problem is, this pitching pipeline we've been sold on doesn't exist. The best option would be Adams who hasn't thrown more than 4 innings at a time. Next in line would be C Lewis, Raya or Dobnak, all of whom have era's over 7. Can you imagine how hard they'll be hit in the majors if they're getting shelled this bad in St Paul? The only other option are the two waiver wire guys Urius or Gilliapie, or however you spell them. These guys aren't going to solve any problems but if it's just a matter of covering a few starts to get Ober right, it might be worth it. Kyle Gibson is still available for the league minimum......
  20. I agree, Correa will be moved to third only once Culpeper establishes himself as an everyday player at SS. This probably puts Lewis at first and Lee and Keaschal fighting it out for second base and utility roles. Not a bad infield. Also have DeBarge, Eeles and maybe Clemens as bench pieces. Now if we could find some solid young pitching we'd be set ;)
  21. LambchoP

    Buy/Sell move

I think unless we finally go after a long term first baseman, our infield in another two years will be 1st - Lewis 2nd - Keaschal SS- Culpeper 3rd - Correa UT - Lee, Eeles, Clemens, DeBarge
  22. They need to do something with Ober. If not an IL stint then skip one or two of his starts. Problem is there are no real SP candidates that could replace him. In the pen it's obvious to anyone with a tv that Wentz has to go. I'd rather see Adams out there. He needs a shot and he can piggyback short starts and go multiple innings. Hopefully the Twins can get some you g starting pitching at the deadline because it's clear we don't have enough talent right now. Kyle Gibson is available for minimum salary. He can't be any worse than Ober lately.
  23. Gonzalez, Culpeper and DeBarge all have looked great this year. I am seriously worried about our pitching though. Seems like nobody, SP or RP ever throws more than 3 or 4 innings. How are these guys supposed to go deep into games when they are being conditioned to only go a few innings. The numbers have not looked good either. Outside of maybe Adams and Ohl our upper level guys have been getting rocked all year. Hopefully we can acquire some decent AA or AAA starting pitchers at the trade deadline because I've lost a lot of confidence in guys like Raya, Morris and Lewis.
  24. They should trade everyone on expiring contracts and get as much as they can for those guys. Castro, Paddack, Bader and Coloumbe should bring some prospects to us. Then, if we get a good enough offer then trade Duran. I think I remember the returns for good closets in the past have brought back AAA SP, AAA RP and maybe a AA bat. If we could get a near ready upside SP and a MLB caliber catcher or first baseman I say go for it. Jax has more than enough talent to take over as closer. He's cheaper too, which matters to this ownership.
  25. This team needs to figure out a true plan. Are we competing or building for the future? No more indecisive standing pat. It's clear moves need to be made. Ownership doesn't believe in the team, fine. At least recoup as much value as we can and plan for a competitive 2026. We should be able to get some value for Bader, France, Castro, Paddack, Vasquez. If we want a bigger return trade Duran if the price is right. We need more pitching, a catcher and a legit first baseman.
