  1. I think Mccusker should replace Keirsey on the major league roster. I like him as a pinch runner and he's good defensively, but it sure looks like he won't be able to hit in the bigs. Let's see if the big man can. Too bad Wallner is going to be out awhile. Getting Lewis and Castro back should help weed out some of the DFA guys on the roster.
  2. Sure looks like he's injury prone, but you could say that of ALL Twins prospects. Look right now, our numbers 1-3 prospects are all on the IL and not for the first time. Just the way the game is nowadays I guess
  3. Dasan Hill and Connor Prelipp. Man, these guys got the stuff that's obvious. The question i think is, will they be able to remain starters. Right now they are dominating in short three inning appearances. I hope as they keep producing their innings limits rise and they both can remain starters, because is so, can you imagine both these guys in the rotation? It would be a new age Santana Liriano 1-2 lefty punch :). Just have to keep them healthy now
  4. Not sure what to think yet on these hip new bats, but France has been a decent surprise so far. He's holding his own at the plate but what's been most impressive is his defense. All we read about before the season was how badly he graded out as a first baseman but so far this year he's looked great out there. Few good plays made and countless errors saved by picking low throws in the dirt. If he can keep hitting well and with some power, at the very least we should be able to get something for him at the trade deadline. Maybe a young MLB ready catcher?
  5. Really nice to get some wins, even if they've been against bad teams. Even nicer to see the offense start to wake up. Still a little concerned with hitting with RISP and leaving so many guys on base each game. Also a little concerned that our starting pitchers either cannot or are not allowed to pitch more than 5 innings. Using 4 or more relievers in a game greatly increases the chances that one of those guys will blow a lead and most likely the game. Hoping for a sweep today, because starting tomorrow we have to go up against a real team .....
  6. Wow Tonkin looks like he needs WAY more rehab time. 4 homers in two appearances? I guess he'd fit in with the Twin's pen. At least Maccaghen looks good. I say call him up again. We can't continue to use 4-5 relievers every game. We really need a reliever to go multiple innings after our starter goes 4-5 innings. He could be it. I say call up him and send Alcala down for awhile. Then, send Keirsey down and give Mccusker a chance until Wallner is back.
  7. Bring up Mccusker. With an IF of waiver wire pickups, we're going to need all the offensive help we can get and right now Keirsey and Bader aren't going to help. Keirsey can't hit, he's basically a defensive sub and pinch runner. Bader started off good and is great defensively, but he strikes out way too much. Give the big man a chance, see if he can keep this hot streak going in the majors. It worked with Keaschal until ....
  8. Our infield is starting to look really pathetic. I understand these two new waiver wire guys will be temporary, but c'mon, this is the best we can do? We now have Clemens, Bride, Gasper, Keirsey and Vasquez on the big league team. That's 5 players that probably won't hit .200 on our MAJOR LEAGUE roster :(. Would be nice to get some updates on Martin, Wallner, Miranda, Eeles and Jenkins. How exactly does Rodriguez continually jam his thumbs on both hands over and over? I thought that's what those oven mitts are for. Not that he looked remotely ready for a call up, but it seems we're just looking for warm bodies at this point. It's been nice getting wins against the WSox and LAA, but once we start playing real teams again the losses are going to pile up fast....
  9. What is up with Emma's thumbs? Is it really so hard to NOT jam his thumbs over and over? What about those oven mitts? One week out of Keaschal, that's all we got. We shouldn't even be surprised, but Everytime this keeps happening it sucks....
  10. I'm guessing Duran will be the reliever most likely to be traded since he's making the most money. Jax wouldn't surprise me either. We're bound to have a major sell of by the trade deadline. This team needs young players who can hit. They need catchers probably more than anything.
  11. Sure wish we'd get some kind of update on Jenkins and Eeles. With the Twins basically being unwatchable, these minor league teams are the only teams worth following. Looking forward to watching the Saints tonight. Hopefully Royce can hit right from the start.
  12. Most in watchable Twins team i have ever seen. A complete tear down is inevitable by the trade deadline. Too bad for that no trade clause on Correa....
  13. Jeffers is fine, he's starting to hit better with more playing time. Vasquez is absolutely cooked and both catchers at AAA look to be busts. Twins need to look outside the organization for some catchers asap since after this year Jeffers is our only legit option. Hopefully we can nab a young MLB ready catcher at the deadline when we have our inevitable sell off.
  14. Does Olivar catch anymore? Sure looks like the guy can hit but it'd be great if he could stick at catcher since we are really thin there. I think it's time Mccusker gets called up. Even if it's temporary until Wallner gets activated. The big man sure looks like he's done everything he can in AAA. Maybe he surprises us like Keaschal did. We can use all the offensive help we can get. Dump Cartaya off the 40 man and reward it to Mccusker.
  15. I'm guessing Bride will be sent down when Lewis is activated. Man, Royce sure sounds cocky for a guy that is hurt more than he plays. I like the confidence but some of his interviews really come off as a bit over the top. "I could hit on one leg I'm so good"? Really? How about proving you can produce at a solid level for a decent chunk of time without hurting yourself. Not sure what to do about Correa. All they can really do is move him way down in the lineup so he doesn't have as many double play opportunities and just hope he comes out of his horrible funk. It's not like he'd agree to be sent to the minors to find his swing. Maybe they put him on a minimum IL stint then rehab him at AA and AAA until he starts hitting?
  16. Nice to see the offense come to life a bit. Buxton sure seems to be striking out a TON, but at least it's coming with some power. Bader is another K machine lately too. Correa is a whole other problem. He needs to be moved way down in the order. We cannot allow him to keep coming up with bases loaded or RISP. He is a double play machine, he will lead to majors for sure. Every time he makes contact it's a grounder to SS or 2nd. I haven't seen him even hit into an out that left the infield. Maybe when Lewis comes back Correa hits the IL for awhile or something. It's not like you can send him to the minors to find his swing..... On another note, Keaschal has been a blast to watch. Looks like the real deal. Hope he keeps it up and fights for ROY votes!
  17. I think Cartaya has been given enough of a look. Drop him from the 40 man and give Mccusker his place. If he keeps up this year at the plate, he can then be called up easily. Maybe Cartaya passes through waivers and we can re sign him but I think we really need to look outside the organization for some catching depth. With Vasquez leaving after this year we really need some competent options behind Jeffers. Loving this minor league stuff. With the major league team playing so badly, this stuff is even more fun to follow:)
  18. I think Cartaya would probably pass through waivers. Give his 40 man spot to someone who can actually help the Twins this year. Mccusker would be a good idea. Jeffers is the only catcher we have that can hit. Vasquez is good behind the dish but can't hit. Catcher is definitely an organizational concern. We need to find a legit backup to Jeffers and some real depth for AAA.
  19. It really looks and feels like the entire team is in total "simulation" mode until a sale happens. When you're SS is making 37 million, the highest paid player on the team by far, but is also arguably the worst hitter on the team......things aren't going right. Need new faces from top down. From ownership to managers to hitting and pitching coaches. A roster shake up will need to happen as well. We've tried for years to get it done with this "core". Sorry to admit it, but it's not going to be good enough.
  20. What more does Mccusker have to do to get a call up? I realize a 40 man spot makes it a bit more difficult, but with Larnach, Bader and Keirsey not producing much, the Twins need to find some offensive help somewhere and Mccusker's on an absolute tear. Give him a chance to see if he can keep it up in the majors. At first it seemed like Keaschal was getting called up prematurely but so far he has been one of our better players since he got here.
  21. Festa does not deserve to be sent back down to St. Paul. Especially if he has another good start today. Both him and Zebby look ready for MLB. I'd like to think Paddack and SWR rotation spots are up for grabs, but we all know how long the Twins love to stick with struggling veterans over youngsters playing well...
  22. Buxton and Keaschal are the only reasons to watch this team right now. If Luke keeps playing like he has been, he will force management to keep him in the majors, even when Lewis and Castro are healthy. On the flip side, Lee looks lost at the plate. He's good defensively but hasn't shown he can hit MLB pitching yet. What's with Bader? Started out so good now he's striking out more than Miguel Sano...!
  23. I don't think ownership cares at all at this point. They've got one foot out the door just hoping to find a buyer that will cover their debt and make them "enough" of a profit on the sale of the team. I say it can't happen soon enough!
  24. It's awesome that Zebby and Morris are hitting 99 mph! Festa, Zebby and Morris all might be pitching in the majors this year, especially if we have a big sell off at the deadline like I think we might. With both Larnach and Keirsey struggling so much I think it's time they give Mccusker a chance. What's the harm in a cup of coffee? Dude is hitting over .300 with 5 homers. Maybe he provides a little pop for this wimpy lineup. Maybe Martin will be back soon too, he was hitting like .400. we need some kind of roster shake up. Clearly what we've been running out there so far isn't going to work.
  25. I think Festa and his fastball will be just fine. If he's too hittable at the top of the zone because of his over the top delivery, maybe throwing it down low in the zone would be better. I just hope the Twins don't ruin him, he's got a great arm and a lot of potential.
