    Sounds like their approach/philosophy hasn't changed... but the game has. The pitch clock doesn't allow much time to process a complex, data-heavy approach. Perhaps they just need to simplify.

    Nobody goes to the plate trying to strike out. But somehow we have a team full of Gallos that have bought into the idea that a strike out is an acceptable outcome in pursuit of a HR... always. There is no nuanced thinking that some situations are better served by just putting the ball in play. Or hitting a sac fly. That is how you develop as a team. That is were coaching and game prep come into play.

    This is one of the core issues with the offense! When Polanco returns, Julien should slide into the primary DH and Buxton should go on the IL for as long as it takes to get to get his knee right. That would be the logical move to improve both the DH production and 2B defense. The Twins aren't likely to do that because they see Buck as a core piece of their marketing. Marketing seems to drive more decisions than winning. Donaldson, Correa, Gallo... all big news splashes that haven't improved the team! Trade the AL batting champ instead of signing a FA pitcher... put the Twins at the front of baseball news! How much did they spend on new uniform designs and rebranding this off-season? These were all marketing moves, not baseball moves.

    I wonder if the players got wind of Falvey's pregame interview on Bally. He essentially said they are satisfied with the team as they constructed it. Arrogant, obstinate and tone deaf!!!

    Expectations. RF is an offense first position. If the Twins had a screaming offense, we could say "yeah but he plays the Target Field RF like no one else". With a mediocre offense, missing that offensive piece is glaring.

    Sadly, that is not how this FO and owners work. They have invested 3.5 million in him. He will be here for the duration 😕

    Jog the length of a football field 18 times, do several 20-30 yard sprints in various directions, add a couple of leaps at the wall. Do that on a knee that is obviously so bad that a stolen base requires a couple of minutes to get get back on your feet. Buxton is not healthy enough to be a viable in CF. He is not performing as a DH. He should be on the IL and figuring out how to get back to playing form 😔
