Should The Twins Look to Upgrade From Kyle Garlick?
David Maro replied to Cody Pirkl's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
Can't stay healthy, time to go. If he was in the lineup 3 days in a row he got hurt. This team doesn't have room for a one dimensional player. Still looking for a Left fielder after letting Eddie go. At last count I think over 10 or is it more. Wish full thinking that Judge is coming. People want Correa to stay,so all the money will go there. We still need pitching, pitching and more pitching. There are way to many questions in that area.- 43 replies

He didn't get the help he needed around him. This team as built only wants to hit homeruns. He should ask to be traded to a team that plays baseball not homerun. He is a great hitter who is willing to do whatever it takes to help his team. That is why he played 1st base and did a admirable job. Even the Clowns in the booth only talk about homeruns. I wish him well and hope he wins many more batting titles.

Target Field lockers are empty and homes and apartments are packed. This team checked out weeks ago. The owner and management are the only ones that didn't see it. They have tee times set at their off season homes this coming weekend. This team is a mess and not much to look forward to next year.

Carlos Correa Makes His Decision Clear
David Maro replied to Cody Christie's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
He was out the door back in August after the team started to free fall. He is good with the glove, but where is the bat. When you give someone 35m a year you should get both sides of the ball. Miranda has almost the same numbers with less at bats and way less money. If they sign him to 5-7 years this team will be stuck with a weak team around him just like the Mauer years. -
What To Do With Gio Urshela?
David Maro replied to Cody Pirkl's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
He is one of the few players on this team that has earned a place in 23. Just look what happened when the FO told good bye to Rosario. The team is still looking for a Left fielder. I have lost count after 10.- 82 replies

With Ober going 7+ innings was Rocco in the dugout? I guess the idea of Ober to the pen next year has changed.

Rocco gave the game away to start!! Giving Correa the night off was just another dumb move. Correa has faced Ohtani how many times playing in the same division, but let's give him the night off. Then to top it off we get to watch Varland look like a pitching machine not a pitcher. He couldn't throw his pitches fast enough. A real manager would have sent Maki out to slow him down. Maybe he had a 9:00 dinner date!!

Byron Buxton Set for Season-Ending Knee Surgery
David Maro replied to Cody Christie's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
No one wants to have surgery, but at least he is getting it done now. To often players wait until January. Then they will be unable to be ready to start the season. Hopefully it goes well and he comes back 100%. -
Planning for a Post Correa Reality in Minnesota
David Maro replied to Ted Schwerzler 's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
Pitching,Pitching, and more Pitching!! That money can be used there. Sign Correa long term and team has the Mauer situation, weak team around him. Look around baseball the teams that are going to the playoffs pitch first. After that they play fundamental baseball, the two things that are lacking with this team.- 36 replies

This team has all but emptied their lockers and got the golf dates set. They will all be gone by second weekend in October. We can only hope for wholesale changes for this organization. If we stick with this plan look for a really long season next year. I can only hope that Correa opts out and we use the money saved to bring in some pitching.

What Happened to Jorge Lopez?
David Maro replied to Ted Schwerzler 's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
Reminds me of F Rodney, single, walk, hit batter. Then let's pitch out of it. We now have 2 of the same with Pagan in the pen.- 11 replies

Royals are a AAA team at this point and we should beat them. Where was the coaching when we had Greinke at 40 pitches in the first inning. Then we let him back in the game by going 1,2,3 on 5 pitches. He should of been done after 3 maybe 4 innings. This has been a issue all season. We talked about Ryan not being able to finish the nono the other night,if the Royals hadn't worked him to 106 pitches maybe. Rocco would have had to let him go for it with 80-90 pitches.

What Happens to the Twins Front Office for 2023?
David Maro replied to Ted Schwerzler 's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
The FO has not shown the ability to make good decisions in any manner. They listened to Correa on getting Lopez and look at what we got, another Pagan. We started the season with a SP staff of broken down arms and a rookie SP as the #1. The whole organization needs to be revamped from top to bottom. If only a change here and there is made we are in for long season. Just remember next season goes back to the game we grew up with. This FO and manager I don't believe will be able to make the changes to play the game.- 56 replies

Would any other manager in baseball PH Palacios for Cave in a scoring opportunity. I know Cave has his issues, but he does have his moments as well. I believe the injury problem this team has maybe in the medical and training staff. Polhad needs to clean house at season end. The game will be back to the game we all grew up with next year. You won't have 5 or 6 hitters in the lineup hitting under .220. The 2nd baseman won't be playing like a 10th player in a softball game in the outfield.

Wishful Thinking on at least 3 of the 5!! Kepler hopes he wins a Gold Glove because like Correa he's hoping to take a walk because he can't hit. Arraez needs a day off or he will be under .300 by mid week. Going to the playoffs will be over next Sunday we don't have the pitching and we don't play baseball.

Arraez needed to get the bunt down!! How many inning do we need to see 2 on no outs and come up empty. As for him being the best hitter, since the Allstar game he is well below his average. Why would Correa talk to Gordon, thats who he learned standing in the box from. This team is not playing baseball, its all about look at me I hit a homerun. Next week it will be all over for this year and better luck next year.

Baseball is dying with all shifts and extra inning gimmicks. I know next year some go away. Now this is the next great idea. They should have East Coast,Central,West Coast play each other. The fan base is losing interest because of cost of tickets and bad games. You get fans from Milwaukee coming to see Brewers,Twins, people from St Louis to see Cardinals,Twins. You don't see a lot of fans from the Braves, the Giants or Rockies.

How about a wake up call DFA Sanchez or Kepler. I know this sounds crazy but sometimes you need to make a statement. I said years ago Rocco is not manager material and everyone said I didn't know what I was talking about. He won Manager of the Year with Paul Molitor's team. He has been a bust since then. This team is now unwatchable and as a fan of the Twins and baseball this is hard to say.

I don't see the problem here. If the catcher goes to the mound it's a visit. So if the pitching coach goes to the mound it's a visit. Rocco went to the mound not to the infield grass. Him not being in the dugout would not have changed anything. This team is lifeless and looking to go back to their winter homes.

I've seen enough of team now to know they are done. Rocco and the whole staff need to go. It has become embarrassing to watch. Your starter gets a missile hit off him for a triple play and you run him out again with no one up in the pen. A real manager has a feel for the game Rocco only goes by the analytics. If you play 10 games that way of thinking will lose you 7 of the 10. He also needed to bench Correa on his triple for not running out of the box. But there again let the player do what he what's. Better luck next year!!

Twins 3, Rangers 4: Twins Bats Struggle Again
David Maro replied to Sherry Cerny's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
Same team different day!! This team has not played baseball more than a handful of games. If Correa would shut his mouth and try to get a hit instead of looking back at the umpire. And Buxton needs to stop trying to hit a homerun every at bat. I'm tired of watching wasted at bats, man on 2nd no outs and can't get him to 3rd nevertheless home. This is a Rocco issue and staff needs to get to work.- 34 replies

Joe Ryan Has a Slider Problem
David Maro replied to Cody Christie's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
At this time he is Berrios,a thrower not a pitcher. He believes he can throw past the hitters. He leaves a lot of pitches in the zone. Needs a lot of work locating his pitches. Pitching is a art not a let it fly and hope. Rocco made a mistake making him the #1 he is at Best a #3. All the good pitchers learn to pitch in 3 to 5 years. Hopefully he can be one of them. -
Twins Giving Pagan a Leash to Hang Their Season
David Maro replied to Ted Schwerzler 's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
Pagan should have been DFA with Duffey and Smith. I don't understand why Moran is not in the pen. It doesn't make sense having only one lefty to go to. The FO seems to be responsible for a lot of bad choices. Just look at the Dobnak signing, 10 million really. This team finally played baseball last night, Kepler took what the Royals give him. Then you go to Lopez and he tried his best to give the game away. He now 50% in saves and can you trust he will be able to get the job done. -
August Homestand Sets up Massive September for Twins
David Maro replied to Ted Schwerzler 's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
Its all about pitching and Cleveland and Chicago have it. The Twins would need to score 7 to 10 runs to beat them. They can't drive in a runner from 2nd with no outs. All they want to do is try to hit homeruns, not get the runner to third. Look at Buxton, homerun or strikeout. Is Correa really worth $35 million with his at bats. I can't see this team making the playoffs.
