  1. How is it that this team can't hit LP pitcher with a ERA north of 7. Another good game pitched by Gray wasted. Loaded the lineup with right handed bat for what. This loss should be on the manager. Leaving Duran in after Mullins smash down the line. How often has Duran thrown 34 pitches in one inning 0. I don't think we will see anything different Monday night with a LP going for KC and they are playing well the last few games.
  2. Let's not get too excited about this win. All the runs came early and all but 1 run off a right hand pitcher. Still had 11 strike outs and 5 innings of no offense. Lopez was shaky early, but was able to pitch thru it. If Correa can start games leading off with good at bats maybe that will help. Julien seems to be taking way too many pitches in middle of the zone time to sit him. One good at bat for Joey Strike Out doesn't mean he is coming around. We did get good news about Cleveland,Detroit and Chicago all losing.
  3. Bases loaded how many times with no results. Correa,Buxton and who ever at bat with strike outs. Arraez would put the ball in play. The game is called baseball, this team thinks it is called homerun. Maybe its time for the SP to corner Correa and company. People keep talking about the playoffs, sorry not happening this year. Time to start over with new FO and manager.
  4. Wanting to bring players from St. Paul isn't going to change anything. If you don't change manager and coaches you will only mold them to the team's way of doing things. It is all about swing for the fences and who cares about the strike outs. They had 14 strike outs again in a game that Maeda had pitched well and could of won. Swinging at pitches over their heads and out of the zone is minor league. People talk about small ball, getting singles and doubles isn't small ball its baseball. It's time for Polhad to step in and tell FO no more deals without changes. Team is now in second and heading to third next week.
  5. Traveling today and glad I was. What a laughing stock this team has become. Why bring anyone up from St Paul when Popkins will mess them up too. Last night was a real eye opener on how poorly managed and coached theyare, whose bright idea was it to throw waste high fastballs to start the game. It has been shown to all time and again swing as hard as you can and hope to make contact. The Tigers will be in second place and Twins in third place the middle of next week. If not careful fourth place behind the White Sox.
  6. Pagan can't throw 2 cutters in row in the middle of the zone. Don't think many hitters miss that pitch twice. Why are they still swinging for the fences with 1 on in the 9th,need 3 not 2. Pinch hitting Buxton if he's not right is dumb. He will only disappoint. This was just another game of 12 strike outs and hard to watch baseball.
  7. When Ober gets the ball he has shown to be the steadfast pitcher on the staff. Castro has brought a fun style running the bases putting pressure on the pitcher and catcher. When was the last time a Twins player stole 40+ bases. And why is Lewis on the bench tonight. We are playing the best team in baseball and need players that make things happen. Maybe play him at SS tonight, giving Double play Correa a rest.
  8. Gallo is and was a bad signing, but fits the team perfectly. Rocco loves players who swing for the downs. The whole team doesn't care how many times they strike out. The game yesterday was a prime example of that. They hit 2 solo shots, along with 13 strike outs. And we all know what the final score was. Since letting Eddie walk LF is a plug and play position. The trade for Lopez has proven to be not good, because they gave him the extension before he showed who he is. He seems to blow up in 1 inning and puts the team behind early. Now the team has an over priced player just like Gallo,Correa and Buxton. Just like years ago signing Mauer to 10 and the last 4 years having a part time player who hit singles. Now that I think about it that may be why they didn't sign Arraez.
  9. Maeta saying no I'm not done yet got everyone fired up. They needed someone to do that. Rocco is not capable of doing that. The team is 2-0 in the last two games that he was ejected. We have to have Lopez step up tonight and show a little of Maeta emotion. You have to win the games that you should.
  10. Need to show up in Detroit this weekend and sweep the Tigers. It doesn't get easier after that with Atlanta and Baltimore. It's time you know what or get off pot. Can't look like good 1 game and out of sorts the next. Putting the ball in play and not relying on the long ball is how to play the game. Nice to see Ryan go the distance.
  11. Here is a statement that should tell everyone about Popkins. Trevor Plouffe made the observation that Kepler had a hitch in his swing. You would think a hitting coach would see that and address it. Not to say that would make any difference, but if he can't see that what else is he not see. We won't have to watch much more of this, because they will be in 3rd place heading to 4th place next week.
  12. The SP has come down to earth and putting pressure on the BP. The manager spends most of his time looking down at his paper work hoping to find something. Watching the other manager, they are watching the play on the field 100% of the time. May need a Bud-Light boycott to get the point across. This team is unwatchable at this time. Buxton needs to back on IL and then go to St. Paul for rehab assignment. Bring Miranda up as DH to see if his bat has come around or not. Looks like he has resolved some of the issues he had earlier. If he fails that may show everyone that Popkin's is a problem.
  13. Poppins can talk all he wants about too much information, the strike zone is the strike zone. They swing at pitches 6 to 12 inches out of the zone and take pitches in the middle of the zone. Buxton took pitches all weekend and in PH at bat Sunday. Since letting Eddie go they seem to think LF is a plug and play position. There has been how many different players out there,I would guess over 20. MLB claims they have the easiest schedule left, good luck with that. By the time they finish with Boston,Atlanta and Baltimore they will be in third place heading to 4th.
  14. Varland has become a thrower not a pitcher, too many pitches left in the middle of the zone. When you watch closely he starts to rush his pitches. He is releasing his pitches with 7,8,9 seconds on the pitch clock. Time to go back to St Paul and work on using the clock to his advantage. That way his pitches should be less likely to be in the middle of the zone.
  15. Why is it when they strike out, they walk back to the dugout with the look of o well. As fans maybe we need to get them a strike out vest to wear. Raley for the Ray's strikes out in a key at bat and broke his bat over his leg. I think they are fine with the strike outs and are trying to hit closer to 2000 so they have two records, homeruns and strike outs. Didn't watch this one because watching the last 2 was enough for me. And will not waste Father's Day watching bad baseball.
  16. When Salono over ran 3rd base this one was over. Arraez had almost as many hits today as this whole team,he went 5-5 with everyone's favorite a homerun. I have decided to go watch some little league games, they will be much more fun. Maybe a strike out vest is needed to get things around.
  17. Gray has to pitch better, can't go 3-2 on almost every hitter you face. Tiger hitters layed off his pitches out of the zone,so he needed to give them a pitch to hit. Lewis needs to stop trying to be Correa. His throws don't need to be 90+ when 80 will do. Why was the over throw a hit not a error. The runner was feet from the bag when the ball went over Salono's head. If anyone needed to be pinch hit for it was Buxton, can't swing at pitches a foot off the plate. This team are strike out artists and continue to have an inning here and there. When you have a pitcher on the ropes you need to finish the job. But when you have a bunch of players trying to hit homeruns only this is what you get. Correa tried to screw himself into the ground the at bat before striking out. All of this is on the bad manager in the dugout.
  18. Miranda is the teams dog days of summer insurance policy. Right now Lewis is the 3rd baseman because they don't want to lose him to injury. Buxton has been on the IL twice this year not playing CF. Why would they play him there when Taylor has been able to play every day. I know Kepler has been a problem with the bat,but we saw how poor play in RF can change the game. Anderson looked over matched on 3 hits today.
  19. When has the Twins played well on the West Coast, play 4 in Seattle and 3 in Oakland. We have 3 against Atlanta the end of June and 7 against Baltimore in July. I know we do have Chicago and Kansas City, but always seem be close games. Next week 4 with Boston, you can throw all kind of numbers out,I look at how they play some teams.
  20. This is a less than 500 team,so why are we talking trades for this position or BP arm. If you look at the July schedule you will see it only gets tougher. You don't have 12-17 strike outs per game by one or two players,it is a team afford. Maybe they need to discard the vest and replace it with fine jar for charity for striking out. Adding Joey Strike Out to the roster this morning is only going to add to the strike outs.
  21. I hear game strike outs are going up!! Joey Strike Out is back.
  22. Plenty of chances to add on,but stood in the box taking strike 3. This team is actually looking to strike out 2000 times end of season. If they average 12.3 a game for 162 they will get there. How many games do we watch score early then hope we hold on. When you have a pitcher on the ropes you need to put them away. You have to play baseball, not homerun. Yes the homerun is part of the game, but how many homeruns does a player hit in 400-500 PA. Only a few players even see 25-35 in a season. Putting the ball in play wins games because it puts pressure on the pitcher and defense. Cleveland is 1.5 games back because they put the ball in play. Their manager is a HOF manager and if it was all about the homerun he would be managing that way. The starters are doing their job but hitting is beyond bad and manager is even worse.
  23. We can talk about all the young talent in St Paul all we want. We have already seen that with some of that talent. The problem is with the manager and coaches, they don't care about strike outs and only love the homerun. They wouldn't call for a hit and run if it was the only play. I only see 2 players that actually are able to run bases. Station to Station to them is turning a noob on the radio. It's homerun or strike outs and starting pitching is paying the price. It is day after day becoming harder to watch and will be even harder to attend.
  24. Got a invitation to Twins game against Boston when I will be in town visiting family. Told them I will be too busy to waste my time. I just saw the White Sox are now 1 game closer after beating the Yankees. They just got their closer back and are on a roll. This team is a mess and will be in 3rd place as of Sunday. Bad FO signings a long with poor coaching equal poor play. Hard to believe Taylor and Castro are the only ones that can run the bases. Don't tell me Buxton, because he only wants to hit homeruns. Every time he is on base he gets up like he just hurt himself. I see Lewis has fit right in with the team, strike out and hitting around 200 just like the rest of the strike out artists. Polhad's will have to step up and make changes in the off season or the stands will look like Oakland next year.
  25. One question no one has asked is who would you vote to the Allstar game? I don't see a single position player on this roster. I think only Gray,Ryan,or Duran will get any chance. That should tell everyone all we need to know. This team is done and will sink like a stone from here just like last year. I will be interested in the Vikings from here. Been a Twins fan since 1961 and see the hand writing on the wall.
