Rocco and his musical chairs is getting old.Everyday they come in to a different position and now it has caught up to them. Did anyone see Farmer's face after Julien wasted an at bat PHing and striking out on 3 pitches. He looked like he was mad as HE double tooth picks. This team is falling apart at the seams and if they stay in the playoff picture it will be short lived. Now we all can see why it took until the end of the season for Varland to be called up.He is and may never be ready for the major league. He still is and may always be a thrower not a pitcher.

This will not be a soft month for a team that gets 4 hits against a team that is out of the playoff picture. They have been up and down all year and are now hoping that 3 rookie SP can keep them in the playoff run. Where are Correa,Buxton and now Lewis when the team needs a boost. And anyone who thinks Varland and Lee will be the saving grace has wishful thinking.

Margot running into the out at home is on him not Watkins this time.Jeffers single was right in front of him and he went back to second to tag up.He had to see that it wasn't going to be caught and needed to run.Yes Watkins has been a bad 3rd base coach, but the runner should be able to read the ball right in front of him. What I see is a team that is going back to the homerun or strike out mentality.Every time Lewis steps into the box all everyone wants including Lewis is a homerun. With bases loaded and no outs Miranda and Castro strike out and Vasquez hits a ball to short. This looked like the 2023 team.

Why did Duran throw a hanging curveball to Ozuna? He threw a 101 fastball right by him and Ozuna looked like the guy in Major League 2.Everyone thinks Buxton would have caught the ball Martin missed, but he probably would have missed the rest of the season. Where did the offense go,they had ducks on the pond almost every inning and the pitcher on the ropes. He was over 100 pitches before the end of the 5th inning. If they don't figure it out soon they will be playing golf in October.

Watched 1st inning only and saw Ober having problems with grip of the ball.He was wiping hand on pant leg and jersey. His pitches were way out of the zone or right down the middle.Let's be honest this one was over before the rain came. The thing that came out of the game was Blewett showed something. Again as I stated before don't look for Correa or Buxton until KC or Cleveland series.

Great news the Braves are going with a LP so Rocco will have Margot and Farmer in the lineup tonight. That means Ober will need his best stuff.Don't look for Buxton or Correa until KC or Cleveland series.

Complaining about the BP in this game is crazy.Sands and Jax were solid and Duran got a double play ground ball to second.Julien was bad the whole game and needed to be replaced way before the 9th.Hopefully Lee will replaced him on the roster today.Rocco thinks he is playing chess and the other manager is playing checkers. But time and time again he loses that game. Why on earth would Farmer jump the first pitch. He was PHing and a new pitcher, take one to see what he has.He needed to get the ball in play to the right side or outfield only. That run is and was important.

As I have brought up before how many times after scoring 10+ does a team come out flat. What was Wallner thinking two at bats 2 pitches.Lewis more interested in talking to Apple TV. Festa was only OK in the 1st and 2nd inning after that he spiked pitch after pitch getting his pitch count to climb. Where was Rocco when all this was happening,in the clubhouse taking a nap.As you see KC is now ahead of the Twins and yes they have a tuff road ahead but they are playing far better at this time.

Max Kepler: A Minnesota Twins Era Nearing Its End
David Maro replied to Cody Christie's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
Great news for the Polhad's next year will have the whole outfield a revolving door just like left and center field.Everyone talking about his only good season with the bat being 2019 seem to forget. That year was the year that MLB cheated the fans with a juiced baseball.Every players numbers were up just like the PED era.The one thing that can be said is Max has been available to play RF way more often then not.He also has been a team guy until he did say he didn't want to fill in for Buxton anymore. If they fall short this year of the playoffs it may be awhile before they get there again. -
Good game by SWR except for the walk problem he still struggles with.Bats took over in the 4th so he could relax and get through the 4th and 5th and get the win.

Should the Twins Trust Caleb Thielbar?
David Maro replied to Cody Christie's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
Since the rule change the organization has gone away from LP,why is that.Just because they no longer can come in for one hitter this FO and manager feel they have no value.Thielbar has been a up and down pitcher his whole career. He was on the IL to start the season and needed to be DFA then.At the deadline they could've got Scott and let Okert go,but didn't.Well I guess there's always next year. They only have broken down pitchers and players to finish this season. -
Little League baserunning and managing will cost this team the playoffs. They have a good chance of losing 7 more games with St Louis and Atlanta next.It doesn't help when you're 2 big dollar players are not available.

When they show the BP you see two rubbers, and many times 2 RP warming up.As poorly as Lopez looked Rocco should of had pitchers up in the 2nd.Anyone defending him is wrong because managers can take a pitcher out after 3 hitters. He is right there watching his pitcher throw meatballs. It is one thing to give up a one run lead, but 4 is inexcusable.

He is another example of trading a good RP to save money. They got a RP who couldn't find the zone and a SP with a dead arm who has more days on the IL than the field. I think it is time to move on from the Paddocks and the Stewart's just like they finally did with Michael P who started all this sign and wait and see. Let's move forward with the SP they have that actually take the mound every 5th day.

Big win with Cleveland going down in Milwaukee. What is going on with Julien,he looks like a deer in the headlights. He has been here before but seems like he hasn't. Santana saved this one with his glove and his bat.

This FO seems to think they are smarter than everyone else. They sign dead arm pitchers hoping they will pitch someday. The Polanco trade was a salary dump with 2 broken down pitchers in return. The list of broken down pitchers is so long it is hard to remember all their names. Why sign him when you can let another team have him on their IL next year.We already have numerous pitchers on the IL for the rest of this season and for the start of next season.
-
If he is or isn't framing is not the biggest problem at this time. His at bats have become the issue.Watching his at bats are now a automatic out.He can't seem to see pitches feet out of the zone, striking out on a regular basis. It is time to sit him for the Rangers series and let him rest and look at film.
-
How many times have you seen a team score 10+ in a game and then come out flat the next game. Both Jeffers and Castro made Ragans job easy swing at pitches way out of the zone.Jeffers swung at pitches neck high and Castro at pitches in the dirt. The rest of the lineup wasn't much better swinging at the first pitch they saw.It makes the pitchers job easy when they swing at his pitch every at bat.Ragans hadn't thrown 50 pitches into the 5th inning.

If Lewis is going to stay at third he should have stayed at AAA.You don't learn to play a position in the majors. He has the glove, but his throws are air mailed. With someone other than Santana playing 1st you would see many more errors. He would be better suited playing LF or 1st.The team does need his bat in the lineup,so he should be doing what is best for the team.
-
There needs to be some concern about Lopez, still having blow up innings. It took 33 pitches to get out of the 2nd.Going into the 3rd he was at 47 pitches. The bats aren't going to give him 6 on the board every time he slips.Him and Ober are now the 2 veterans left as starters.Ober is doing his part,it is time for Lopez to step up. Singer is a bottom third of the zone pitcher,so the hitters figured him out the second time at bat. Logo is going to be lot harder to get and Matthews is going to need all the help they can give him.
-
What happened to Lewis and Miranda, they disappeared with the bat. They were swinging at pitchers pitches and letting in the zone go. What are people watching Martin made play after play at 2nd all weekend.Who else would you want running the bases? Both Martin and Castro are on this roster because of their bat to ball and base running skills. The real problem is they are back to the same old Twins swinging for the fences.Fans doing backflips jumping up and down because Buxton hit 2 homeruns.Problem is they still lost the game. You win playing baseball, not homerun.

Guardians 2, Twins 1: Cleveland Wins it Quickly
David Maro replied to Ted Schwerzler 's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
Hitters looked like they had dinner dates and were running late. Why would you hitter after hitter swing at first pitch wasting an at bat. On the Jeffers out play at 3rd base where was the 3rd base coach,he has a view of the flight of the ball. On the good side of the game the infield played one of the best games all season.- 45 replies
