  1. Polhad's said no,play with the team you have. Adding a RH bat will not change anything. This team would still have the same problem. They are averaging 10 strike outs a game. Polhad's are watching the 33.5 million dollar boy hit just above .200 and 15+million dollar boy on IL again, who is also hitting about .200. We all know and have seen the overall problem can't score, because swinging for the fences. Starting to see it now with Julien and Wallner. How about last night, takes MAT late inning homerun to win. Had bases loaded twice and guess what Strike Out. Gallo and Popkins should of been shown the door weeks ago. I know the only thing that gets the fans attention is a homerun, that's not baseball. Put the ball in play is,making the other team make the play.
  2. Duran looks more like F Rodney right now. Put a couple of runners on and try to pitch around that. Problem with that approach is it isn't going to work every time. Castro can't take strike 3 with bases loaded and of course Joey Strike Out striking out with bases loaded. The way the game was playing out Rocco needed to PH for him,but didn't. With Cleveland playing Chicago this weekend can't afford to lose any this weekend.
  3. He has had nothing on his pitches since the complete game against Boston. Every team knows he is going to throw his fastball up in the zone. They are fouling pitches off again and again forcing his pitch count up. Can't have a SP with 25 to 30 pitches in the 1st inning. He has as many as 60 pitches still in the 3rd inning. His fastball has lost velocity and movement. Hopefully going the IL will get him back to what he was to start the season.
  4. Pohlad stepped in and said you play with what you have. This team is still the same as 2019,but without the talent. You see them swing for the fences every at bat. Without Solano coming off the bench for Joey Strike Out they would of lost 6th in a row. The off season has to change everything about this team. You can't have a team that thinks they all are homerun hitters. Getting 400 to 500 at bats gets you 20 to 30 homeruns, what about the other at bats. Going to the playoffs is the last thing this team needs.
  5. Lefty starting for KC let's stack the lineup with 8 right handed bats. Worst team in baseball hitting Lefty's. Why not make a change. Game was decided early with Correa and Buxton striking out in the 1st. Can't hit 70 mph curveball. Reminded me of movie Trouble with the Curve!! Apparently then decide to give the RF some fielding practice. Same time as last year falling out of 1st and making the injury excuse. The SP was off to the best start in years and wasted by the manager, coaches and players. FO can't make the right choice on paying the right kind of players. Donaldson didn't fit and Correa doesn't fit. Buxton needed to go two or three years ago. Time to sell any and all players that other teams may want. Polhad's need to put FO on notice and Rocco out the door.
  6. Correa is and was a disappointment last night again. Can't even hit a sacrifice fly to get the game tied. Not only a terrible average with RISP, keeps hitting into double plays. He now has hit into 20 double plays leading all of baseball. Maybe the analytics should of told Rocco to PH with Farmer. May have changed the outcome of the game at that point. And maybe would of had Correa look at his approach in those situations.
  7. Don't think Keuchel will add much with a 88 mph fastball. Had that last year with Bundy. May work for 1 inning, but we are going to get Theilbar back any day now. The pitching has been not good since the break. Ober has now shown he may have hit the wall, and the BP couldn't stop KC from adding on. Why is Rocco so in love with Moran,he has shown nothing for weeks now and is giving runs. At this time this team is in trouble and will be lucky to make playoffs.
  8. Can't win games striking out 14 times, this has become a every game problem. Moran needs to go to St.Paul, can't find the plate. Needed 5 pitchers because he couldn't get it done for 1 inning. Duran looked tired and took numerous pitches to get to 100. He couldn't locate his off speed, can't walk anyone with a runner already on. The only good thing that happened tonight was Cleveland lost as well.
  9. Cut Gallo and put him in LF,since we haven't had a everyday LF'er since Eddie. At last count I believe it is somewhere around 15-20 different players. Playing there would limit the chance of injuries and keep him in the lineup.
  10. Between Buxton and Gallo they have 20% of the team's strike outs. No Buxton the other day and still struck out 18 times. You are not going to win any games doing that. This is a problem that the fans should be blamed for as well as the players. It is all about the homerun, fans sit on their phones and only watch and cheer for the homerun. Listen to Dick Bremer talk its all the homerun. When they do play baseball it is 1 inning here and there. People bad mouth Castro day in and out,but he has done things on the bases this team hasn't seen in years. He has a good chance to steal 40 bases. I can't see this team holding on to 1st place playing the way they are. Cleveland gained 2.5 games in 3 days and has played 1 less game. Hopefully the Polhad's will step in at the end of the season and make changes.
  11. Needed this game badly and why leave Ryan in after 3 innings of pitching batting practice. When you're pitches are being hit into the seats in under 2 seconds its time to change. And we keep trying to hit solo homeruns to catch up. We were up 4 over Cleveland other day,may only be 1.5 tomorrow night. They play Chicago WS while we have KC.
  12. Terrible lose, can't give games away like this. BP knows I have to face 3 or more hitters, will need to throw strikes. Moran couldn't find the plate if he was standing on it. The HP umpire was giving pitchers a big strike zone,so use it. The first 2 games with Seattle 30 strike outs, that is equal to 10 innings of outs. Him sorry but why is Joey Strike Out still on the team. He has shown he is a automatic out. They now gave Seattle a boost to take the series.
  13. Because he had to start the season in St.Paul he has come up with attitude to prove he belongs. I like that in every player who comes to Majors. Playing with a edge makes you a better player. At this time he gives the team a good chance to win. And if Maeda can keep pitching well maybe the other 3 will step up and pitch better.
  14. Great win taking advantage of Lynn throwing meatballs over the plate. Julien being young needs to use the Cave rule, has to run out of the box. That was a double not a single if he didn't stand there watching the ball. He did have a nice slide at home for a insurance run. Ryan needs to use some off speed to start the game, even you and I know he's throwing a fastball to start the game. Tonight Gray has to show up and pitch much better.
  15. Every team needs a spark plug and Castro seems to be that. With Julien helping the lineup with offense and Castro stealing bases it will help to win the division. Let's worry about next year next year. Every year players come and go and if Castro out plays Gordon and others so be it. The goal is go to the playoffs every year this year included. No one had the Phillies in the WS last year. We have the pitching this year and may not next year. You want to move someone when Gordon or Lewis return how about Gallo. He has become a automatic out in the lineup. Everyone has said that about Buxton,so he took a seat.
  16. The question to ask is if Ober or Varland started throwing pitches feet out of the strike zone would Rocco go get them. Jeffers looked more like a hockey goalie than a catcher. At this time Gray looks OK for 50-60 pitches. If the SP keep looking this bad the team is lost. Hopefully Ober does his thing tonight and they win.
  17. Can't watch a manager just give a game away anymore. Gray lost control of his off speed pitches in the 5th inning and Rocco does nothing. We had Gilbert on the run in the 1st,but with Buxton batting 3rd is automatic out. Julien can't be on the field, hit him at DH and Buxton to IL for 15 days.
  18. Finally scored some insurance runs playing baseball. Using a double steal and a bunt with Castro on the bases. May want to do some of that with Buxton, but can't because he may get hurt. Pitching really needs to improve today, giving the A's 11 runs in two games not good. Nice to see Duran use the fastball over the offspeed stuff. Just like Jax early in the season falling in love with the slider got him in trouble. If in the lineup today Buxton and Kepler need to 7-8 or even 8-9, may wakeup their bats.
  19. Glad they are on the West Coast so I can't watch them. The games are past my bedtime. The other good thing is that Cleveland is playing Texas and I see they may have lost Bieber for awhile. Time to is what is going on with the Vikings.
  20. The pitching is the best it has been in years, but they don't hit and neither does the position players. Yes they will play 1 game in October, the last game of the season. Everyone talked about the 2nd half of the season,we're 10 games past that. What makes people think that things will change,no changes were made at the break. Rocco will still rotate players at every position but SS and change the batting order daily. The next 7 games will tell a story.
  21. The bigger problem is he seems to have the FO ear on things like Buxton to DH and bringing certain players in. It has been said he wanted J Lopez and we see how that worked out. He does lead the team in hitting into DP. Most fans think a player being paid 30+ million a year should lead on the field.
  22. The FO will make no changes here because they like Homerun Derby. The team is now out of first and will more than likely fall in the division. You have to feel for the SP who are doing their jobs. The FO brought Gallo in for one reason only to hit homeruns. Why would anyone want a hitter who strikes out 48% of the time. Popkins or anyone else is going to improve that what 5%. Buxton has one thing in mind at bat swing for the fences or strike out. Polhad's will have to be the one's to step up at the end of the season and clean house. When a business is failing changes need to happen. That maybe the roster has a complete turn over as well.
  23. Glad Vikings camp is coming up. Hopefully they will show something because the Twins are showing us zero. Pretty bad when a player that will be back in St. Paul in 10-14 days did his part. When a business is failing changes need and always are made. This FO is becoming a laughing stock. Where the you know what are Polhad's.
  24. Ober gets another no decision because the manager can't manage. Again with a heavy RH bat lineup against a pitcher with a 6+ ERA. And of course swing for the fences in every at bat. Been a fan since 61,losing interest in style of baseball. Think I'll start paying attention to the Vikings with camp starting soon. Please Polhad's look at what you have and make changes before its too late.
  25. Not a fan of Kepler, but this whole team is in love with the homerun. When you look at Buxton and Correa they swing out of shoes. They have done a little better with the strike out since last week. But Sundays ninth inning trying to hit solo homeruns and striking out 3 times. People seem to forget we don't have a LF since letting Eddie walk. Now we want to have plug and play RF as well. If you look around the league teams have 6 or 7 players who play almost every game. This team will not go anywhere with this FO and manager rotating the lineup game after game. Doing this has been a losing proposition. Players need to know I'm playing my position today. Having 5 of 6 players who play every position hasn't worked.
