  1. Great news for the Polhad's next year will have the whole outfield a revolving door just like left and center field.Everyone talking about his only good season with the bat being 2019 seem to forget. That year was the year that MLB cheated the fans with a juiced baseball.Every players numbers were up just like the PED era.The one thing that can be said is Max has been available to play RF way more often then not.He also has been a team guy until he did say he didn't want to fill in for Buxton anymore. If they fall short this year of the playoffs it may be awhile before they get there again.
  2. Good game by SWR except for the walk problem he still struggles with.Bats took over in the 4th so he could relax and get through the 4th and 5th and get the win.
  3. Since the rule change the organization has gone away from LP,why is that.Just because they no longer can come in for one hitter this FO and manager feel they have no value.Thielbar has been a up and down pitcher his whole career. He was on the IL to start the season and needed to be DFA then.At the deadline they could've got Scott and let Okert go,but didn't.Well I guess there's always next year. They only have broken down pitchers and players to finish this season.
  4. Little League baserunning and managing will cost this team the playoffs. They have a good chance of losing 7 more games with St Louis and Atlanta next.It doesn't help when you're 2 big dollar players are not available.
  5. When they show the BP you see two rubbers, and many times 2 RP warming up.As poorly as Lopez looked Rocco should of had pitchers up in the 2nd.Anyone defending him is wrong because managers can take a pitcher out after 3 hitters. He is right there watching his pitcher throw meatballs. It is one thing to give up a one run lead, but 4 is inexcusable.
  6. He is another example of trading a good RP to save money. They got a RP who couldn't find the zone and a SP with a dead arm who has more days on the IL than the field. I think it is time to move on from the Paddocks and the Stewart's just like they finally did with Michael P who started all this sign and wait and see. Let's move forward with the SP they have that actually take the mound every 5th day.
  7. Big win with Cleveland going down in Milwaukee. What is going on with Julien,he looks like a deer in the headlights. He has been here before but seems like he hasn't. Santana saved this one with his glove and his bat.
  8. This FO seems to think they are smarter than everyone else. They sign dead arm pitchers hoping they will pitch someday. The Polanco trade was a salary dump with 2 broken down pitchers in return. The list of broken down pitchers is so long it is hard to remember all their names. Why sign him when you can let another team have him on their IL next year.We already have numerous pitchers on the IL for the rest of this season and for the start of next season.
  9. If he is or isn't framing is not the biggest problem at this time. His at bats have become the issue.Watching his at bats are now a automatic out.He can't seem to see pitches feet out of the zone, striking out on a regular basis. It is time to sit him for the Rangers series and let him rest and look at film.
  10. His military background is what gives him the discipline to do better.Keeping him in the pen will give him a longer career. With his build and the 97+ fastball he would be prone to injury as a starter. And if he threw the fastball 93-95 as a starter he would be less effective.
  11. How many times have you seen a team score 10+ in a game and then come out flat the next game. Both Jeffers and Castro made Ragans job easy swing at pitches way out of the zone.Jeffers swung at pitches neck high and Castro at pitches in the dirt. The rest of the lineup wasn't much better swinging at the first pitch they saw.It makes the pitchers job easy when they swing at his pitch every at bat.Ragans hadn't thrown 50 pitches into the 5th inning.
  12. If Lewis is going to stay at third he should have stayed at AAA.You don't learn to play a position in the majors. He has the glove, but his throws are air mailed. With someone other than Santana playing 1st you would see many more errors. He would be better suited playing LF or 1st.The team does need his bat in the lineup,so he should be doing what is best for the team.
  13. There needs to be some concern about Lopez, still having blow up innings. It took 33 pitches to get out of the 2nd.Going into the 3rd he was at 47 pitches. The bats aren't going to give him 6 on the board every time he slips.Him and Ober are now the 2 veterans left as starters.Ober is doing his part,it is time for Lopez to step up. Singer is a bottom third of the zone pitcher,so the hitters figured him out the second time at bat. Logo is going to be lot harder to get and Matthews is going to need all the help they can give him.
  14. What happened to Lewis and Miranda, they disappeared with the bat. They were swinging at pitchers pitches and letting in the zone go. What are people watching Martin made play after play at 2nd all weekend.Who else would you want running the bases? Both Martin and Castro are on this roster because of their bat to ball and base running skills. The real problem is they are back to the same old Twins swinging for the fences.Fans doing backflips jumping up and down because Buxton hit 2 homeruns.Problem is they still lost the game. You win playing baseball, not homerun.
  15. Hitters looked like they had dinner dates and were running late. Why would you hitter after hitter swing at first pitch wasting an at bat. On the Jeffers out play at 3rd base where was the 3rd base coach,he has a view of the flight of the ball. On the good side of the game the infield played one of the best games all season.
  16. For some reason Varland and Vasquez were in love with the Knuckle curve. That pitch needed to be put on the shelf. The Cleveland hitters were all over that pitch. It is also time for Lewis to put in extra time working on throws to first. You can't give the other team extra outs. When that happens the pitcher ends up throwing more pitches and now has men on base.
  17. Ober has put himself in the running for the Cy.When he is pitching now he does with attitude. At this point he is the ace of the team.Maybe Lopez looks at Ober as competition and will get back on track.
  18. On the day Lopez is starting he was more worried about having the rookies go get coffee for the team. Its time for him to worry about pitching not being the event coordinator. Then Rocco gives the game away by putting Dobnak in so the Cubs can add on and put the game out of reach.
  19. Hopefully Festa watched how not to pitch. When you walk 15 hitters,6 by your team and 9 by their team its bad. Sorry but Dobnak is a St Paul Saint only. You can't go 3-2 to every hitter without getting into trouble. It does look like Topa will be ready for Cleveland,so Dobnak will be back to the Saints.
  20. Nice story about Dobnak, but if he wants to stay up he can't go 3-2 on every hitter. He looks more like a thrower than a pitcher.Him and Varland seem to think they are throwing a hot potato. Lopez did get bailed out by Larnach in the 1st inning. The game could of looked a lot different if not caught. As far as him being the ace,he has a ways to go to pass Ober at this time.
  21. You don't win any games walking 7 hitters.Umpire had two different zones that didn't help SWR.The lineup didn't help by swinging at pitches way out of the zone. This will be a long series if they don't stop helping the pitcher.
  22. Margot never fit the team,he was brought in by Baldelli who knew him in Tampa. If you do the same thing over and over again hoping for a different result that is the definition of insanity. We now hear that Correa is involved in who to trade for.We all remember his idea of trade for his friend Lopez. It is time to move on from Margot just like they did with Lopez.
  23. Why do people think Lewis,Paddock and or Topa are key.Lewis has shown only one thing he will be on the IL.Paddock can't stay on the mound,so who thinks he can come out of the BP.And Topa who even knows what he looks like.He has pitched in months. The team has hope Correa can make it back soon because Castro can't hold down SS.Watching him play there, you think he is Polanco with his side arm throws. We also need Miranda back for Right hand bat and ability to play 1st and 3rd base.
  24. SWR pitched his best game yet.It is to bad the offense let him down. Why Jeffers swung on 3-1 count with bases loaded is beyond me.Soto couldn't find the zone and needed to make 2 good pitches. With Wednesdays game now being a BP game it looks more like another loss.
  25. Don't look now but the Royals just tied the Twins for 2nd in the division. The manager is weak and the players can't stay healthy. Its time to look elsewhere because this team is headed south.
