  1. My heart goes out to them. Absolutely devastating to have that happen. It's not the same, but my wife and I had gone through several miscarriages many years ago, and it just rips you apart.
  2. Can't wait to find out. I'm sure there will be some adjustments that he'll have to make, because pitchers will know what his weaknesses are. It'll be up to him to adjust to their adjustments. I sure hope he's for real and builds on last years success.
  3. I wish him the very best. Any form, or type, of cancer sucks!
  4. Gotta admit...I miss Bert a little bit. He just was a goofball and fun at times. Certainly not the most analytical guy, but enjoyable for the most part. I'm sure I'll miss Bremer some too. He's the only guy I've known doing games since I moved here back in 82. I do like Provus a lot, and I'm looking forward to having him doing the pbp on tv. Of the analysts, they can drop Roy right now and it wouldn't bother me a bit. I like Morny, but I wish he'd learn to shut up once in a while. Perk is good and Plouffe shows promise. I can take or leave LaTroy, not really a fan. I have no idea who else I would like to see in that chair. I think we've got enough guys already. Let's play ball!
  5. "...and we'll see you tomorrow night!" I also prefer to remember Puckett for what he did on the field, not off it...and I was here when all the questionable stuff happened. It's a shame he got robbed of the end of his career. Truly, a special ballplayer.
  6. When I saw the news about Giolito, I thought to myself...how did we miss on this guy? It's not like us to miss out on a pitcher that needs a TJ job done right away.
  7. He had some hammy issues with us back in 2022. I believe he went on the IL twice for it in 2022.
  8. No. He's much more valuable closing.
  9. The only guy that I'd possibly take a flyer on, is Lorenzen. No way do I want Odo, or Hill back here. Thor is pretty much done. Other than Lorenzen, I'd roll with what we've already got in house.
  10. It's what I used to be, 60 something years ago.
  11. ...and you thought that the only "granny" was on the Beverly Hillbillies! Hell, we got us one of those too!
  12. "Louie, Louie, Oh, Oh, Me Gotta Go"...well, actually Louie...it's probably time to take DeSclafani's place in the rotation.
  13. BSN released the 2024 Twins broadcast schedule: https://www.kttc.com/2024/02/28/bally-sports-north-announces-2024-twins-broadcasting-schedule/ Denard Span added to the tv analyst rotation. Let's play ball!
  14. It's great that his velo is up, but 94-95 isn't exactly what I'd consider "throwing gas". It's not bad, but there are loads of guys in the bigs that can do that. Now, what Duran throws...101+, that's throwing gas!
  15. I'm ok with this deal. Don't we need to lose someone off the roster now? Who's that gonna be?
  16. Why? We don't need him at all.
  17. If he is indeed finally healthy, or healthier than he's been in a long time, the Twins would be very wise to take extra care with him on the base paths, and the amount of steals he attempts. There's no question he's one of the fastest players in MLB, but he's been hurt running the bases and trying to steal before. He's fast, but he's not a base stealer. He also doesn't seem to have the best technique when it comes to sliding. He just seems awkward when he slides. With his knee and hip issues, he could be back on the Il before you know it. Now that he's supposed to be back playing CF, just take it slow and don't rush anything. Let's see how he physically holds up.
  18. Apparently, the new uni's didn't pass the "Jacques Strappe" QC test.
  19. Obviously, we need him to produce in the field and at the plate, but a huge part of CC's value, is what he does off the field, in the clubhouse and behind the scenes. I think he's probably the single most important and influential player we have. He does things the right way. He's a leader. In my day, we would also call him a "gamer" I love to watch him play SS, and I have absolutely no problem with his contract. I wish we had a few more guys just like him. I can easily see him going into coaching and possibly managing, when his playing career is over.
  20. I don't know about signing Pham, but I think Lorenzen is a decent bet. I don't believe they're done adding quite yet, it's just a question of who.
  21. Joe Po, says it's a no go, to spend the dough. Not a real surprise. Here the link: https://www.si.com/mlb/twins/news/joe-pohlad-says-twins-wont-splash-cash-on-big-free-agent
  22. The chances of them signing Bellinger, Snell, or Monty, are between slim and none...and slim took the last bus outta town a loooooong time ago. Bringing back MAT, and/or signing Ryu, Thor or Odo, is right up this FO's alley. That's more their speed. I really hope they do a hard pass on Odo or Thor. Maybe take a chance on Ryu. Getting MAT back would be a decent move too.
  23. When I saw this header/subject...I just about lost my cookies. There's no way we could sign him. Right?
  24. No doubt a strong pen is vital to the success of any team, but you can't burn the pen up over the course of the season. You STILL need starting pitching, and you need them for more than 4-5 innings per game over the course of the season too.
