  1. No chance he makes the team out of ST. He'll be in StP, and maybe not even playing full time there. Late season call up at best. Could be a Buh-Bye Bubba from this organization too.
  2. Looks like another guy is off the board. ESPN's Jeff Passan is reporting that Rhys Hoskins is getting a 2 year deal from Mil for $34 mil, with an opt out after the 1st year.
  3. Let's see...if I remember right, we had him for $11 mil last season The Nats get him for $5 or $6 mil this season, if he meets performance perks. That means some lucky team will get him for probably $2.5 mil next season!
  4. We really need Ryan to pitch like a consistent, solid, mid rotation guy. He also needs to get better at keeping the ball in the yard. He's got the talent to do it.
  5. It's a hard pass on Mr Crooked Hat. No thanks. We can't possibly be that desperate.
  6. Some speculation at this time of year is fun, and keeps the imagination going...but there's absolutely no way they sign Bellinger. They won't sign Hoskins either. You can also forget about any of the remaining high end pitchers too, while you're at it. They just won't do anything that involves prying open the vault. There's a much better chance of the Lagina brothers finding treasure on Oak Island, than the Twins spending that kind of money.
  7. Cole Sands? Nah. Seen enough of him. The others? A big maybe at best.
  8. I'm not smart enough to know what this means for us Twins fans...or for that matter, any other fan base that was on BSN. I just want some entity, or the Twins management, to figure out exactly what the plan is going forward, and let us know. Then we can make our individual decision(s) as to what to do, to watch Twins games.
  9. Love the guy, but it's not gonna happen.
  10. Welcome back...and no, you didn't miss anything. Best of luck with your health situation. You got this.
  11. Why do we have to get rid of either guy? I wouldn't even think about moving either one, unless we get a very good return. True, no one is untouchable, but please be smart about the deal.
  12. If he can't hit a breaking ball, and/or the Twins don't think he can hit a breaking ball...then just trade the guy. Give him a chance somewhere else and start to clear out the log jam we have with lefty outfielders. Start moving some of these pieces instead of stock piling them.
  13. He was the manager when I first moved to Mn. Definitely a character. He wasn't the best manager...and he wasn't the worst, but he oversaw and helped develop some of the players that made up that first WS team...which also led into the second WS team. RIP "Slick".
  14. Ortiz was released, not traded. Supposedly, the Twins tried to trade him and had no teams interested.
  15. They have a totally separate personnel department that only looks for obscure players. They get bonuses if they find one that's injured and won't be available until mid way into the upcoming season.
  16. Sorry, but I'm not a fan of looking for diamonds in the manure pile. These kinds of moves are underwhelming, to say the least.
  17. "Generational" is a very strong word. Like a HOF word. Let's dial that back for a bit. Provus is good on the radio, so I'm reasonably sure he'll be ok on tv too. Bremer is the only pbp guy I've known on the tv side since I moved here 40+ years ago, so it'll take a bit of getting used to, with him being gone. I like(d) him and will miss him. Morneau still hasn't learned that less can be more...he needs to shut up every once in a while, but he does know his stuff. Perkins was a nice surprise...he's pretty good, and also knows his stuff. Smalley and Hawkins are both poor communicators and bring nothing at all to the broadcast, and they can be annoying at times. I'm looking forward to seeing what the tv broadcasts will be like, and where they'll be. I'm ready...bring it on!
  18. Atl sure isn't afraid to make moves. Gotta give them credit for that.
  19. Best of luck to him, but he looked like he already retired before he came here. He was terrible.
  20. Wow. Start printing WS tickets. They better have more up their sleeve than this.
  21. I'm not smart enough to know, but I sure as hell want to find out.
