  1. I mentioned this in the other thread too. He's the only pbp guy I've ever known since I moved here. He was a good one, and he'll be missed. I wish Mr Bremer the very best of luck in his new role.
  2. You're right about that. I listen to the radio at times. Gladden is bad enough, but I can tolerate him for the most part. Atteberry as the full time main guy would drive me insane.
  3. I wish him nothing but the best of luck in whatever his new role turns out to be. I guess it's not really that much of a surprise to most of us, but it's still going to be a big change. He's the only pbp guy I've ever known on the tv side. I moved to Mn right when he started. I wouldn't mind seeing Cory Provus take over for Bremer, but I'm sure a lot depends on what the tv package ends up being. All things have to end at some point. Good luck Mr Bremer!
  4. I like to watch the D'Backs play. Pretty much old school ball...what I grew up on. I wish the Twins did more of that. Anyone's series right now. Nice to see some different teams...I just wish WE were one of the different teams.
  5. I agree with you. Complete stiffs are going to get 10-15 Mil. Maeda is much better than that, and he still has gas left in the tank. I'd at least do a QO and see what happens.
  6. Hurt my right shoulder 30 something years ago playing softball, as I was diving for a ball to make a catch. Stupid. I rolled hard onto my shoulder and it was numb for days after that. I saw an ortho doc and I apparently did something to the bursa sac in my right shoulder, I don't recall exactly what. It was swollen or inflamed...something along those lines. Anyway, my shoulder was never the same. I couldn't raise my arm or throw a ball 10 ft after hurting it. Hurt like all hell. Fortunately, it didn't affect my golf swing at all. It took a couple years for my shoulder to feel better. I sure hope AK recovers and he's healthy and ready for 2024.
  7. All the current over the air free broadcast channels have sub-stations. Some have as many as 6 or 7 of them. That would work quite nicely for Twins games. I honestly don't care who televises them, just as long as we can get the games. I don't particularly want to pay for them, but we'll see what they come up with.
  8. Coulda been us...we're not that far away.
  9. Latest reports are...that Craig Breslow is the front runner.
  10. Take whatever Gray is possibly/probably going to turn down, add a little more to that total, and get Blake Snell in a Twins uni. Imagine him and Lopez at the top of the pitching staff!
  11. Absolutely perfect answer to the article, and I agree 100%. You stated it better than I ever could.
  12. No one could possibly be surprised by this.
  13. Yeah...I think everybody kind of forgot about Miranda. This could open the door a bit for him...if he's even healthy.
  14. Hmmn...your definition of "near perfect" is a little bit different than mine. No doubt there's some things to like, but there's some things that need to be addressed too. We'll see what happens over the winter.
  15. They couldn't possibly be thinking Gallo...could they? Maybe the Hiroshima Toyo Carp will swim right in and sign Joey-Boy before Falvine gets any crazy ideas.
  16. Wait...there's more. Also from Do Hyoung Park...Kirilloff is going to have surgery later this month to repair the labrum in his right shoulder. Lets get all this stuff done right away so these guys can rehab and get back to full strength. Love it!
  17. Do Hyoung Park reported that Buxton underwent arthroscopic surgery on his knee today, to "excise the plica"...which hopefully will alleviate the patella tendinitis in the knee. Let's hope this procedure works and he can get back on the field next season. Edit - I added some news about Kirilloff below this. Maybe one of the admins can change the title to say "Buxton and Kirilloff news".
  18. He's saying what he's expected to say...what any FA would say. Whether or not it's 100% truth doesn't even matter right now. He had a good season, and I wouldn't be surprised if he likes it here and wants to come back. The money/years will determine everything. I sure wouldn't over pay for him.
  19. I'll have me some of that too.
  20. To split the 2 games down there, and then come back here and lose both games while only scoring 3 runs and getting only 6 hits for both games, is just disgusting and incredibly disappointing. It's beyond belief. How is that even possible? Is Houston a better team? Of course they are. Should we, could we, have won that series? Hell, yeah! At least won a game and send it back down there for a game 5. Somehow, we have to get back to playing fundamental baseball and start doing the little things to score runs. Trying to hit home runs and striking out 12-14 times every damn game just isn't cutting it.
  21. Eddie is doing his part, along with Paddack. We're not quite dead yet.
  22. I'm way too old and set in my baseball ways, to grasp what we're doing here. I don't like it. I can see doing a bullpen game a few times during the regular season. I can't see doing it in a playoff game...and in a elimination game for us.
  23. I'm all for sitting Kirilloff down...he's doing zippo anyway, but I don't know about activating Buxton. I don't want to see him at DH tonight, or for game 5 WHEN we win tonight. Very strange move even if AK is really hurt.
