  1. If he can't hit a breaking ball, and/or the Twins don't think he can hit a breaking ball...then just trade the guy. Give him a chance somewhere else and start to clear out the log jam we have with lefty outfielders. Start moving some of these pieces instead of stock piling them.
  2. He was the manager when I first moved to Mn. Definitely a character. He wasn't the best manager...and he wasn't the worst, but he oversaw and helped develop some of the players that made up that first WS team...which also led into the second WS team. RIP "Slick".
  3. Ortiz was released, not traded. Supposedly, the Twins tried to trade him and had no teams interested.
  4. They have a totally separate personnel department that only looks for obscure players. They get bonuses if they find one that's injured and won't be available until mid way into the upcoming season.
  5. Sorry, but I'm not a fan of looking for diamonds in the manure pile. These kinds of moves are underwhelming, to say the least.
  6. "Generational" is a very strong word. Like a HOF word. Let's dial that back for a bit. Provus is good on the radio, so I'm reasonably sure he'll be ok on tv too. Bremer is the only pbp guy I've known on the tv side since I moved here 40+ years ago, so it'll take a bit of getting used to, with him being gone. I like(d) him and will miss him. Morneau still hasn't learned that less can be more...he needs to shut up every once in a while, but he does know his stuff. Perkins was a nice surprise...he's pretty good, and also knows his stuff. Smalley and Hawkins are both poor communicators and bring nothing at all to the broadcast, and they can be annoying at times. I'm looking forward to seeing what the tv broadcasts will be like, and where they'll be. I'm ready...bring it on!
  7. Atl sure isn't afraid to make moves. Gotta give them credit for that.
  8. Best of luck to him, but he looked like he already retired before he came here. He was terrible.
  9. Wow. Start printing WS tickets. They better have more up their sleeve than this.
  10. I'm not smart enough to know, but I sure as hell want to find out.
  11. I'm not even going to go as high as some of you. I'd settle for 100 games played, maybe a little more...in the field and in the lineup. Not constantly as the DH. Hit at least .250 with 20-25 homers and 70-75 rbi. Of course he's going to come up with an owie or three. Just hope they're relatively minor ones and don't need surgical fixes.
  12. I think the Mahle deal is right up there. Top five. Could be worse if Steer, and especially CES, prove to be very good players.
  13. I'll admit that I never was the biggest Sano fan. I honestly couldn't wait for him to be gone. I also have no idea what "sloppy taters" actually means, but I think Sano's ship has sailed. It's really a shame too. He could have been a very solid, productive player. I'm not smart enough to know exactly why that didn't happen. If it was his work ethic, or whatever the reason. I don't know if he'll ever get a shot in the majors again.
  14. It's a no from me. I don't think we need to bring him back.
  15. Nice article, but too far into the future for me to even think about. I'm a lot more concerned about 2024. One year at a time is all I can handle.
  16. I didn't have my glasses on when I first read the title of this article...I thought it said "senility". 🤪
  17. I stand corrected. In my defense, I must have been blinded by his brilliance and completely zoned out on the rest of his starts.
  18. We gave up Steer, CES, and Hajjar for him, and got what...5 starts and 25 innings out of him?
  19. They must be printing money down there.
  20. Yeah...I didn't have one either. The Rangers just signed him to a 2 year deal. No terms announced yet. We really took it up the you know what on that trade.
