    True...ST games don't mean squat, but by the same token...you'd like to see the team do a little better than they have been. I'm not real concerned yet...if I'm not mistaken, TK always used to say that after the first 40 games you should know what kind of team you have. I'm willing to wait until we're 40 games in, and see what's going on. Hopefully, we're 30-10!

    I just hope we get the 2nd half of last season Kep, not his alter ego. Hopefully, he's figured something out that he can sustain over a whole season. He was just brutal before the break last year.

    There's no question about his defense, it's what he does at the plate, that needs stay at the same level as what he did the second half of last season. If he can do that, he's worthwhile. If he reverts to what he did in the first half last season, then he needs to ride some pine. I honestly thought he'd get traded this off season. I don't think his value had ever been higher. I do think he's finally a goner...either at the deadline, or after this season. No way they give him another contract.

    I think probably sooner, rather than later. I'd be surprised if Desclafani doesn't go on the IL.

    Sands was in mid season form today. One inning, four hits, and 3 runs, to give Pitt the game.

    My heart goes out to them. Absolutely devastating to have that happen. It's not the same, but my wife and I had gone through several miscarriages many years ago, and it just rips you apart.

    Can't wait to find out. I'm sure there will be some adjustments that he'll have to make, because pitchers will know what his weaknesses are. It'll be up to him to adjust to their adjustments. I sure hope he's for real and builds on last years success.

    Gotta admit...I miss Bert a little bit. He just was a goofball and fun at times. Certainly not the most analytical guy, but enjoyable for the most part. I'm sure I'll miss Bremer some too. He's the only guy I've known doing games since I moved here back in 82. I do like Provus a lot, and I'm looking forward to having him doing the pbp on tv. Of the analysts, they can drop Roy right now and it wouldn't bother me a bit. I like Morny, but I wish he'd learn to shut up once in a while. Perk is good and Plouffe shows promise. I can take or leave LaTroy, not really a fan. I have no idea who else I would like to see in that chair. I think we've got enough guys already. Let's play ball!

    "...and we'll see you tomorrow night!" I also prefer to remember Puckett for what he did on the field, not off it...and I was here when all the questionable stuff happened. It's a shame he got robbed of the end of his career. Truly, a special ballplayer.

    When I saw the news about Giolito, I thought to myself...how did we miss on this guy? It's not like us to miss out on a pitcher that needs a TJ job done right away.

    He had some hammy issues with us back in 2022. I believe he went on the IL twice for it in 2022.

    The only guy that I'd possibly take a flyer on, is Lorenzen. No way do I want Odo, or Hill back here. Thor is pretty much done. Other than Lorenzen, I'd roll with what we've already got in house.
