  1. Obviously, we need him to produce in the field and at the plate, but a huge part of CC's value, is what he does off the field, in the clubhouse and behind the scenes. I think he's probably the single most important and influential player we have. He does things the right way. He's a leader. In my day, we would also call him a "gamer" I love to watch him play SS, and I have absolutely no problem with his contract. I wish we had a few more guys just like him. I can easily see him going into coaching and possibly managing, when his playing career is over.
  2. I don't know about signing Pham, but I think Lorenzen is a decent bet. I don't believe they're done adding quite yet, it's just a question of who.
  3. Joe Po, says it's a no go, to spend the dough. Not a real surprise. Here the link: https://www.si.com/mlb/twins/news/joe-pohlad-says-twins-wont-splash-cash-on-big-free-agent
  4. The chances of them signing Bellinger, Snell, or Monty, are between slim and none...and slim took the last bus outta town a loooooong time ago. Bringing back MAT, and/or signing Ryu, Thor or Odo, is right up this FO's alley. That's more their speed. I really hope they do a hard pass on Odo or Thor. Maybe take a chance on Ryu. Getting MAT back would be a decent move too.
  5. When I saw this header/subject...I just about lost my cookies. There's no way we could sign him. Right?
  6. No doubt a strong pen is vital to the success of any team, but you can't burn the pen up over the course of the season. You STILL need starting pitching, and you need them for more than 4-5 innings per game over the course of the season too.
  7. To each his own, and I know some people love them, but I laughed out loud when I saw Atteberry and Dazzle listed under the "talent" heading.
  8. Let's see what happens this season. Hopefully, he stays healthy, off the IL, and has a very successful year. Then, look at extending him. It's gonna cost buku bucks no matter what. Plenty of time to go down that road.
  9. I think Wallner would have to either completely fall apart, or get hurt, to lose the LF job. Let's hope he avoids both scenarios and continues to progress and solidify what he's shown so far.
  10. I'd like to see Montgomery or Snell linger long enough, that Boras gives his old buddy Falvey a call.
  11. I think there has to be a RH bat in our future. At least I hope so. Wonder who it'll be.
  12. It wouldn't shock me in the least to see Desclafani go in for a TJ job before too long.
  13. I know the difference, and I believe we signed the wrong one.
  14. They might as well bring back that "Get to know em" ad campaign, because some of these guys aren't even household names in their own household.
  15. There's nothing I'd like to see more...than to have Royce enjoy a full, healthy, season and see what kinds of numbers he puts up. I'm really looking forward to it.
  16. KC is definitely spending a lot more dough since their ownership change. I don't know if the Pohlads and our FO should be embarrassed, but it should at least get their attention. That's a huge chunk of change they're shelling out for Witt.
  17. My armchair opinion is...extending Kep at this point would be a mistake. We all know that he had a pretty good 2019 season, and that he had a good second half of last season. Other than that, he really hasn't done a whole lot at the plate. Average at best. A lot of inconsistency. At times, he's been down right brutal with his AB's. There's no doubt he's a good defensive outfielder. I just don't like the idea of spending to keep him, if we're going to get more of the same inconsistency with his hitting.
  18. Didn't he used to play Chuck, on "Soap" back in the 1970's? I hope he's a better pitcher, than a ventriloquist. Oops...my bad, that was Jay Johnson. Never mind.
  19. I don't know if we really know for certain that they've attempted to trade him. Sure, it's been rumored that they have, but he's still here. If a team wants to move, or trade someone, they find a way to make it happen.
  20. Oye Como Va! At this point...Carlos the musician, is WAY better than Carlos the ballplayer. This Carlos is done. Much better ways to spend $5 mil. At least we didn't bring back Gallo.
  21. Now...let's see if they actually SPEND some of the dough.
  22. Burnes would've been a real nice get for us...oh well.
  23. This is probably a make or break year for him. If he can stay healthy, on the field, and the team can see if he's a possibility long term...then it would be great. If not, then they have to give serious thought to moving on from him.
  24. I'd rather have him find his "fix" with another team.
