  1. That's a moving target. It'll probably change from game to game.
  2. I'd sure take Hand over Megill and Santana. It's only ST, but Megill was brutal today. Hand might not blow it by you at 95+, but he's not gonna walk three guys and then give up a dinger. For some reason, we love projects.
  3. I read that the other day too. It was a good article and no doubt Vazquez should help a great deal with the entire staff. Huge upgrade over Sanchez.
  4. I have to do some driving today, so I'll be listening to Cory and Dazzle in the car. Even Danny will sound good to me at this point!
  5. A lot of things, but specifically want to see Kirilloff back to his pre wrist injury ability, and also a fully healthy Mahle and Maeda. Want to see Ryan and Mahle showing their off speed improvements too.
  6. I'm going with Ryan. I don't think he's going to have any injury issues, and I'd expect him to build on his first full year and get better. I'm looking forward to seeing his slider improvement too. As a whole, I'm very optimistic about our overall starting pitching this season.
  7. Imo...this is kind of an odd move to add Solano. Not saying it's necessarily bad, but just a little odd. Why? We have a lot of overlap position-wise. Some of that is definitely good. It just seems like it's overkill now. There has to be some more moves coming one way or another. Trades?
  8. I'm wondering if Japan is what/where his next opportunity is gonna be. Sano and Godzilla in the same lineup! AWESOME!
  9. As someone who's dealt/dealing with gastritis, I can tell you first hand what he's going through. It can really mess with your body, and it's extremely difficult to control. It affects you each and every day, and you have to be completely diligent about it. The meds themselves can cause problems too. He seems to have a handle on it and I wish him the very best of luck. He proved how valuable he can be last season and I hope he gets to show that value again this season. I think he could fill in anywhere in the infield or outfield, and be an asset. I hope he continues to get playing time.
  10. I am a bit surprised that he hasn't gotten a minor league deal by now. I never expected him to get a major league contract. With ST started, he'd need to get in somewhere pretty soon. Really haven't seen or heard any rumors whatsoever linking him to any team. I guess that's kind of showing the true interest level. I just hope our FO doesn't give him another chance here.
  11. I think that we're a better team than last season. Whether or not that translates to wins, I don't know. The pitching staff alone should be significantly better. Injuries could derail everything, just like with any team. Losing Arraez will hurt. Getting Gallo might hurt too. Can Buxton make it through a full season? Will Miranda hold his own in both hitting and fielding? Will Polanco rebound? Will Kirilloff's wrist be ok? Still a lot of questions. I'm much more optimistic going into this season, than I was last season, but we'll see what happens. Bring on the games!
  12. Yup...at one of the local fast food places.
  13. Imo...anything we can get from him would be a plus. I don't think he figures into any plans for this season. He's WAY down the list right now. I hope he can make it back from the finger injury, but I doubt he jumps any of the pitchers we already have.
  14. I'll believe it when I see it.
  15. No matter what the circumstances were...and I'm sure we'll hear exactly what happened soon enough...it's very disappointing.
  16. Mahle is one to watch closely. He supposedly just had "inflammation" in his shoulder last season. Well, Frankie Montas also had inflammation in his shoulder and was shut down last season. The Yankees just announced that Montas is going under the knife next week for shoulder surgery. No word yet as to exactly what the surgery is. Let's hope Mahle doesn't have the same result. Aside from that, Kirilloff's wrist is also a big concern, and of course we'll need to keep an eye on Buxton too.
  17. Saw a report from Doogie this morning, that the Twins are interested in Brad Hand. He wouldn't be too bad of an addition to the pen.
  18. Has anyone seen, or heard, anything about his shoulder? I don't recall seeing anything. For that matter, all I can remember reading, is that he was dealing with "inflammation". That's what the story was last season. If he's healthy, he could be a real big boost to the rotation.
  19. If they somehow use Pagan in anything other than mop up roles, in blow out games...then something is really wrong with whatever the master plan is.
  20. Sure hope he can come back at 100%, or as close as possible. We really could use him in the lineup. Didn't realize he had such an injury history.
  21. Both of these guys will be extremely valuable.
  22. Sure would be nice if he was finally healthy and we could see what he's capable of.
  23. In the traditional baseball sense...he's not an "ace". We don't have an "ace". We haven't had a pitcher that even remotely qualifies as an "ace", since Johan Santana was here.
  24. Sano is supposedly doing his workout showcase today down in Tampa. I'm sure we'll see something about how it went in the next day or two. If I was going to make a bet on either Sano or Vargas making it to a big league club, I'd pick Sano. I just hope it isn't with us.
