  1. I think the Twins are only in if the price drops.
  2. It does depend on a lot of factors. Today he let Farmer bat against a right-handed reliever but we had a nice lead and he is decent defense at 3B. I have not been a Rocco fan but I believe he is starting to get the hang of being the manager. Dusty Baker schooled him a few years back in the play offs. This seems more even
  3. Lowder is a solid pick and close to mlb ready. They could do a lot worse. I do not know much about Clark. Crews looks to me like Austin Martin so I am not as high on him as most people. Skenes and Langford look to me like the top two. They both should be gone by the fifth pick and if they are I would be fine with Lowder.
  4. You insulted Dave Kingman. No way we have 7-8 hitters as good as Dave Kingman in the lineup
  5. How long before the Twins consider a managerial change if the poor play continues and ticket sales lag.
  6. How has Alcala looked? I thought he was going to be the closer last year after they traded Taylor Rogers. He was hurt before he got a chance
  7. Not worried yet but you are right that it is not a good start. Hopefully Buxton and Polanco just being cautious. Glad we have depth. Keep reading posters who want to trade Farmer or Kepler. Just say NO
  8. Polanco is not that good defensively and we have other players who can play 2B. It does make sense that he DH more
  9. Larnach goes to the minors if everyone is healthy, He will play everyday until needed. That leaves 13 hitters on the 26 man roster. Two catchers, Kiriloff, Polanco, Correa, Miranda, Kepler, Buxton, Gallo one of these will DH or play the field so a regular can DH - Farmer, Solano, Gordon, Taylor. Facing RH starter probably Gordon main DH Increases our depth and gives us more flexibility to pinch hit for Kiriloff and face lefty starters and play 1B when Kiriloff is hurt. If Kiriloff is out and Twins need a lefty bat they recall Larnach. These moves may be a reaction to the minor league we trotted out last September when we could have been in a pennant race. I think this move makes a lot of sense.
  10. What about trying to resign Rogers now? Value has to be low and I agree with Doctor Gast that he was mismanaged in San Diego. He would pitch multiple days in a row and had several outings over 1 inning. Off season he should be refreshed. He is miscast as a closer but could still be a solid late inning reliever if you manage his usage.
  11. Thanks for the article. You did a lot of research. You pointed out Jeffries versus the lefties and Vasquez versus righties makes sense. I am guessing that is how they convinced Vasquez that he will be the main guy. That and $30 million.
  12. I agree. This sucks
  13. Starting to feel like Royce Lewis AFL season. Just hope it continues. How has he looked at shortstop?
  14. Can they piggyback Archer and Sanchez when Mahle comes back? Try and save the bullpen a few innings
  15. Rogers gave up a run tonight. His is 3.86 also. He got his 28th save
  16. I like having Gordon on the team. If he is ever an everyday starter I think something has gone wrong.
  17. We need more articles like this. Gordon just hit his first home run
  18. Doc, Are you going this week to the Saints - Stormchasers? I should be there Friday, Saturday and Sunday but will miss Balazovic
  19. What about Conforto? Pass on Upton
  20. Smeltzer has looked good. I think he will get another chance.
  21. The bat is where there will be some bargains at the end. I would like to see them acquire two more SP. If they really have 33 million left they should have enough money. You know they won't spend much if they add a reliever or two.
  22. Saw him pitch in the College World series both years. He was not the same guy last year. I would have to see him pitch well this year before I would consider him.
  23. I believe Kimera Bartee the player lost in 1995 just passed away this week. Nice to see you mention him in your post
