  1. The article by Zulgad sure feels like he has access to information from the front office that seems to benefit the front office by leaking it.
  2. I would add as many starting pitchers as I could. Not sure anyone threw 70 innings last year. It may be difficult to expect 180 innings from starters. Send Dobnak, Smeltzer and Thorpe down knowing you will need them plus probably Duran and Balazovich. Probably need 8-10 starters to go 162 game schedule.
  3. You weren't the only fan of Mastroianni style of play. It was entertaining. I am looking forward to seeing how this works out. Should be fun. Thanks for the article
  4. I think this is exactly what Marwin signed for 10.5 million only it took a two year deal. So if Simmons is replacing Marwin contract wise while upgrading shorstop and providing depth at 2b,ss and 3B it seems like a good fit.
  5. It has been a tough market to read. I think the per year price of free agents has been like a normal year. The contracts do not seem to be as long though. Less than half the teams are spending so will they be full at some point and the remaining players become cheaper? Ideally I think the Twins still need 6 players. Starting pitcher, two relievers, shortstop, utility and DH. Seems like it is hard to sign Cruz and have enough for the other needs unless they address some through a trade. I am glad they are out on Bauer as he would use up too much of the remaining money.
  6. Angels - 8 Million - one year deal. Makes more sense there as they always seem to have starting pitchers get hurt. His track record of throwing innings will help there. I hope the Twins are going for a little more upside even if it comes with injury risk. A few starts from the Dobnak, Smeltzer, Thorp group is OK. I am just hoping for more depth and higher upside.
  7. I am surprised that Quintana is projected for 10 million. His last full year with Cubs 4.68 era with underlying numbers to match. I am not as optimistic about the rebound. I would be OK if he is the fifth starter. Don't want a fourth starter that we need a rebound from.
  8. Any of the above except Bryant. Don't think he will be worth his big contract. Nice list
  9. The Royals signed Carlos Santana also. So the Royals have gained ground. But the Twins have time and money so we should revist this article in about a month.
  10. And just like Rosario I think he played hurt last year. He could bounce right back this year. I like the idea of adding another shortstop but mainly because Marwin and Adrianza's at bats are being replaced. Polanco if healthy should be fine.
  11. When the Padres decided to spring for Snell with a package centered around their second-best pitching prospect, they effectively took themselves out of any discussion regarding another deal. This was correct for about one day. Can we just trade for Preller?
  12. Thank you. That is excellent Merry Christmas
  13. Cinncinnati is trying to attach a bad contract which will lessen the prospect cost. If you take on Moustakous or Castellanos contract probably can't afford Cruz but you can acquire a top pitcher. I think that is a better fit than the shorstop trades.
  14. Do Falvey or Levine have Covid? You don't hear anything. Terry Ryan use to be done free agent shopping by Christmas. I think they will spread it around a bit. No on Bauer. That team looks like the weakest. Cave/Rooker platoon at DH would not be fun.
  15. Seth- Is there a 2021 Twins Prospect Handbook?
  16. Is there a 2021 Prospect handbook
  17. If you can't get Cruz on a one year deal then use the prospects. I would not give a 4 year $80 million deal for a DH.
  18. I agree with TNT. Lewis can hit .211(Marwin) under .200 Adrianza. At least there would be the potential for him to be good. Kiki Hernandez usually hits around .230 with OBP slightly over .300. Have to think Lewis has a chance to do that. Spend your money on pitching. Although I don't think it will be Bauer
  19. I would rather have Brad Hand than Taylor Rogers. Sign hand and non tender Rogers to offset the cost
  20. Would you claim Hand and non tender Taylor Rogers?
  21. Think Puig would sign for 2 Million? He turned down a one year 10 million this year. Doubt that he drops all the way to 2 million at least not until February
  22. Another thing I noticed is how much more flexible both teams. They have versatile players and more balanced line ups. They seem to be able to always have pinch hitters to offset the opposing managers pitching changes. I hope we keep Royce Lewis as a utility player for next year. He can play SS,3B and CF and if the other team brings in a lefty reliever which we see often we have a pinch hitter that may do some damage. The arguement against is he needs to play everyday to keep developing but seems to me that Marwin Gonzales played plenty this year. I think he should be able to bat more than .211 (Gonzales) or .191 (Adrianza)
  23. Not a fan of Stroman. Not enough strikeouts. I feel he will get overpaid. You sure he is a good clubhouse guy. Looks to me like he quit on the Mets this year.
  24. `Colorado is tough to deal with because they never seem to rebuild. Before the season they will project over 90 wins and say that Gray is a big part of that. I would resign Odorizzi first then check in on Gray.
