A few number 1 first round draft choices hasn't hurt either ...

It's pathetic pitiful piss poor baseball ... I for one think the preparation in spring training is not advantageous for success ... Are the players careers in jeopardy because of our major league philosophy of all or nothing , I would say yes , I am a player and a fan of yesteryear , results matters , results get you voted to the Allstar games , results win awards , results might win you a hall of fame selection ... don't any of today's players have the desire for these accolades ... Results of batting average , rbis , stealing bases , scoring runs and OPS earn respect from other teams players and fans , with the current coaching staff coaching our players , they just seem to be going through the motions and the motions are unwatchable baseball games ... It's time for the players to take back the way the game is supposed to be played and win some ball games , every small details matters .... In the last series against Baltimore , Baltimore batters swung at good pitches and lay off the bad pitches .... the the twins batters continue to swIng at bad pitches and let the good pitches go by .... Discipline ....

It's sad to see someone demoted , but it was time wallner was sent to st Paul and get straightened out ... He was beginning to become a head case with no confidence , umpires against him , pitchers knowing his weaknesses and him not adjusting ... Larnach , last chance for him to wear a twins uniform , it's definitely a prove it week , month or year ... Small sample size during his rehab , I was out of town in Texas during spring training so I'm not sure how he was doing before the injury , would be nice to see some production from him , if not I see no reason to think he will Remain a twin ...

I agree a change in the dugout needs to be addressed , someone needs to be held accountable for the lack of preparations in spring training , hitting approach , fundamentals , throwing to the wrong base or just missing cutoff man ( Buxton of all people did this last night , unacceptable for a veteran ) and just sloppy baseball ... This year we are expected to win the division and the pressure seems to much for players , coaches and manager .... Someone needs to be accountable but the owners don't listen to you or I , or so it appears even care that we are off to a bad start , if I was the owner and because we were considered contenders before spring training , I would be embarrassed and demand that someone take accountability , even with the injuries we still have a roster that should be capable of winning some series or at least watchable baseball ( are we turning out to be the white sox)....

Twins play 162 games and I'm there rooting for them every game ... I never give up , but this team has only improved the bullpen , starting pitching and lineup is not playoff caliber in 2024 , that is where I'm giving up ...

They reduced the major league payroll so they would have enough money for the minor league contracts ,, hahaha .... Seriously Kemp was a pesky player for some years and I liked what I saw , however the past few years I haven't followed him as close so not sure what we are getting , I'm sure he signed a time line to be called up or he becomes a free agent once again ...

Tough loss tonight , bad defense to start the game and we are playing catch up ... Varland has good stuff but the hitters like it when it is down the middle , I like varland always working quick but a few more starts like this and he is definitely a Bullpen option or even a AAA option to keep him stretched out , he needs to locate better , he doesn't walk many .. It wasn't all varland fault tonight ... Good game for Miranda and Jeffers tonight ...
  8. Blyleven2011
Offense is what's lacking , the trend continues , swing for the fences , do we even have a possible 40 Homer guy on the roster , a homerun hitter comes through with a clutch home run with runners on base , how many of our Homer's have been solo homeruns so far ... Offense can't handle the pressure , wallner needs time in AAA to figure it out , keirsey Jr is someone to keep an eye on , he has been on the rise since he has managed to stay healthy the past 2 1/2'years ... There are others that are struggling , we can't continue playing like this , it's to reminiscent of last years first half , we need a better team effort with the players that are healthy ...
  9. Blyleven2011
In the transactions ... Tonkin dfa'd , bowman replaced Tonkin , Acala optioned to AAA , theilbar added to roster ... Did I read that right or do i need glasses , why was Acala optioned and bowman remained ...

The Detroit tigers aren't quite there yet ... The twins definitely aren't quite there yet either ... The twins had all spring to prepare for games that count and the batters look lost at there preparation towards the game , the plan continues to hit the ball hard and hit homeruns , the players don't adjust to situational hitting when they need it ... If the manager can't make any adjustments during the game , then to guess the players to make adjustments is lunacy ... A boring start to the season , so much for a fast start ... I've been away the past 7 weeks but have followed the team through spring and the start of the season ... We can't continue to go through just the motions to be considered a contending team , the manager needs to put some drive into the lineup , GOOD LUCK WITH THAT ...
  11. Blyleven2011
I wasn't suggesting anything ... I stated the trade will come down to Miller for doncon , plus one year of Margot , no way the twins pick up the option cause they don't have to pay the opt out of 2 million ,,, If you read Roger's post , I was basically responding to that , he didn't like the trade ... I have nothing against it ...
  12. Blyleven2011
They got Margot, prospect and cash to pay down the margot contract for this year , Margot has an option for next year with a 2 million buy out that Tampa Bay will pay as they traded Margot to dodgers earlier in the off season ... No way will twins pick up the option , they will let Tampa pay the buyout and the trade will be Noah Miller for prospect doncon ... How do you like the trade now , hurts a little more doesn't it ???
  13. Blyleven2011
Doncon , i Hope so , the cash coming back to help pay down the salary of Margot was a big factor to ... I wonder what Taylor was looking for in money and terms ...
  14. Blyleven2011
Its likely just for this year , I can't see the twins picking up the option for 12 million plus next year on Margot ... The the 2 million buy out is paid by Tampa Bay .. More of a Solano type player , not much power , but his defense should be good in the outfield ...
  15. Blyleven2011
Yes , maybe it was just Eloise that liked , I forgot all about those business swindles ...
  16. Blyleven2011
America's past time means nothing to them , it's all about the money .... It's a game , we need a new owner that loves the sport , Eloise and Carl loved the game , the boys inherited the team and the money from their parents ,, what a sad life to have money and not spend it on their legacy of bringing a world championship to the fans and state of Minnesota ... Especially since they inherited a billion or so and didn't earn it ... I have enough money for the rest of my life and I love spending money wisely , i dont have enoughto own the team though ...
  17. Blyleven2011
I'm going to change this up and not complain about the payroll , it's fine ... What I will complain about is that with Rocco , FO and the pohlads we will never win a world series with their plan .... Boy am I going to get a lot of thumbs down on this one , realistically I remember 2021 and 2022 all so well and first half of lineup in 23 , pitching saved us last year most definitely ... I remember 2019 as well , Rocco was manager of the year only because the players had career years in the juiced ball , 2020 also was a winning season , Rocco and FO mismanaged the post season in both those years ... We dont need to be followers of other teams , let's be creative and innovated and bring back an exciting game of baseball, the other teams might not be ready for it ... Please , the strikeouts do matter and please put an emphasis on contact , fundamentals and let the wins pile up by playing baseball the way it should be played , it was played the same way for over 150 years ... If you really are a fan of baseball you shouldn't be complaining about the length of game , it's a nine inning game or then some , get used to and if you have children , leave in the 7th inning and tuck them in ... I used to go to most of the old double headers they used to have , 2 games for the price of one , MAN WAS I IN HEAVEN ...
  18. Blyleven2011
Solano was a late sign , and he had a good year with the twins as it turned out ... Lightning doesn't always strike twice in the same spot and I'm hoping fO isn't thinking that way , unless it's DFA money ... Kiki could be had for low cost prove it contract , the guy plays everywhere and would be nice if signed and had a good season with us ... I do prefer using our talent from our minors , got to let them play at this level sometime ... We do have enough utility players ...
  19. Blyleven2011
Stay out of the double play and do more hit and run type plays , put a decent contact hitter behind Buxton that will make this happen , steals are nice but putting they hit and run in play will help the stress on Buxtons body ....
  20. Blyleven2011
The walks were up and the strikeouts down ... Hope that continues ...
  21. Blyleven2011
Stop having them made in China, even my socks are see through and at the end of a busy day , my feet are dirty from dirt filtering through them from being outside all day , scrub a dub dub ...
  22. Blyleven2011
He has some skills and is probably close to his debut , he most likely will start the season in AAA even if he outplays another player ... If he can bat ninth and Julien 1 and Lewis 2 , Correa or Buxton 3rd we will score a bunch of runs through out the game , last year it seemed we stalled in the later innings to score runs , at least in the first half ... We need to find hitters that get on base , drive in runs , hit in the clutch , etc. ... We have now lost 2 decent hitters in the past 2 years , we need replacements like Correa performing like he's capable of doing and Buxton improving his swing , it's been terrible the past 2 seasons due to injuries alternating his swing ....
  23. Blyleven2011
Very good doc ... I agree that catcher is the most important and demanding position ... I sure hope the voters aren't just looking at WAR to cast their votes , there is so much more to the game than hitting home runs ... If Ricky Henderson hit 230 for his career , he still would have gotten in the hof as the best base stealer in the game , boy did he like to run ...
  24. Blyleven2011
Thats how I see it ,,, The bullpen has been addressed this off season and on paper appears very solid with depth ... The reason they addressed the bullpen in my opinion is because of the payroll reduction , they weren't going to afford starters so they only had the money to make the bullpen a strength The rotation is not as strong as last year so far , could change ... We have starting pitchers right now to win the weak central division , but I'm not comfortable in the playoffs chances ... Trading for a quality starting pitcher now withvless stress is a lot cheaper on prospects , the FO office has done well in off-season trades , gallo was not a trade , he was a free agent and I'm still not sure why they signed him , i really think they were planning on trading Kepler , but it didn't happen ... the FO office at the deadline with haste9 has not been as fortunate in acquiring good pitchers , they have lost some prospects by over spending on pitching that couldn't or didnt help us for the playoff push , every trade at the deadline , I would grade a D or most of them definitely a F ...
  25. Blyleven2011
I totally agree , I was just playing along with fatbat ... I agree these remaining free agents want stupid money and no way I would pay it ... No water Snell, bellinger , maybe Montgomery but the years and money are to high for the Twins ... Teams cut salary this season and alot of them probably will go through this tv revenue thing again in 2025 or until it is all resolved , so budgets will be tight ...
