  1. My real concern ... laŕnach , hopefully he worked hard this off season on improving on hitting the off speed pitches ... Wallner , I'm still not sold on his plate approach and all his strikeouts ... Castro had a good season for the Twins in 2023 , can he repeat in 2024 ??? We will need consistency from our hitters this year to score more runs as the rotation may not be as good as last year , as they kept us in alot of games in 2023 , will the starters repeat in 2024 ???
  2. Enter Royce Lewis to cover one of the clubhouse leader and rah rah guy ..
  3. Thanks , I thought that , but other response from you mentioned 2 weeks not being on roster and IL list for full year of credit and that through me off some , That's for the clarification...
  4. So your saying when on the injured list you are not accumulating days on the roster and you need 172 days on the active roster ???
  5. What is considered a whole year ??? What if Lee played lights out for 3/4 of the season and then God forbid an injury happened would he still be in the running for ROY award ??? Lee made it to AAA last year which is amazing to say the least , he didn't have outstanding numbers there , If he puts the bat on every ball in spring training , that would be the only way he he makes the team , if not , he will be at AAA for the start ... Can't wait to see him hitting alot of doubles for the Twins ...
  6. It's always a possibility to trade for more when you have a surplus ...
  7. Yep , we have to believe in our prospects for lineup and defense , but if we don't have someone to replace sonny Gray, we might have a problem in the rotation , bullpen looks solid and will be asked alot to put a end to any threat ...
  8. And the marlins know the Gordon family , his brother played for the fish for some years , dee gordon is his older brother and he also played outfield and infield , he broke out with the dodgers , then miami , seattle and ended in 2022 with Washington ...
  9. Your right about not complaining about the bullpen , looks solid with plenty of depth ... Now they will complaining about the starting pitcher rotation ... I'm thinking the FO knows the starting pitching isn't as strong as last and the bullpen is going to be needed to shutdown any threats and our offense is going to need to score more runs ... Last years rotation kept us in the game ... Bullpen will be our MVP in 2024 , when was the last time anyone said that ???
  10. It didn't have to be this way ... I was saddened when I heard Joe Pohlad say they aren't selling the team , ... I would really like an owner to go for it when it's in your grasp , yes they increased payroll the past couple of seasons , but this was not the season to cut payroll when a window of opportunity is building towards a goal of the world series ... Next year we might be in the same situation with the TV revenue , might be less than the what the judge just awarded bally to free up some money for the Twins ( could be 40 million this year , could be only 30 million TV REVENUE FOR 2025 ... Cutting the payroll is fine but not as substantial as they may go , I could see cutting it 15 million because of TV revenue , still at a 140 million payroll the Twins could have found some players to help , and with the Twins getting into the playoffs , wildcard , and ALDS and Quite possibly the ALCS and WORLD SERIES ... You make a good run in the playoffs and teams make more money , seems like the pohlads don't like taking risks ... They don't believe like us diehard Twins do . It didn't have to be this way
  11. Just curious what happened with the Milwaukee law suit against the Twins using the same name that Milwaukee did for their promotional concerts ... Thanks in advance ...
  12. Baseball is definitely a great game but there are alot of very good players trying to fulfill their dreams ... Players have usually 4 steps to move up and develop , A ball to AAA and then possibly the majors ... Balazovic has had some good seasons in the minors to create excitement up until his debut in AAA , the 2020 missed season of development was costly I'm sure then moved up to AAA in 2022 and 2023 didn't go good in 2022 and was better in 2023 , Balazovic made it to the show , did he really deserve it with the 2023 numbers at AAA ... I'm sure he lost confidence on the way , another prospect that will have to figure it out with another team ...
  13. It would be nice if the FO could at least come forth with a statement to the fans that they are working diligently towards improving the team or this is the team we are comfortable with , like they did at the deadline last year ...
  14. Lewis , Culpepper and zebby Matthew's all had good seasons ... Lewis should be the first one promoted to AA and if things go well he could be knocking on the door in a 2025 debut ...
  15. Kepler has been very good as a right fielder , if he had some gold gloves on his resume other teams would value him higher ... As it is the Twins value him higher , we get to see him almost everyday in right field and he has some outstanding years on defense , that he should have a good glove is a given ... Oliva and Kepler are my choices for best twin right fielders ...
  16. Yes , I agree to all , we were the cheap seats and moved wherever we wanted and then after 5 innings they never kicked us out of the good seats the remainder of the game ... It's baseball and all the games are fun , except for 2021 and 2022 seasons , they were definitely total system failure , even 2016 with 103 losses was a good year as they actually lost alot of close competitive games that were more entertaining than 2021 and 2022 ...
  17. Fans only remember the team that won , never the runner up ... Twins fans remember the 65 Twins all day , every day ... They had a tremendous year and they won so many games in the ninth inning coming from behind ... They had the talent in the whole roster , you believed they could take the field and win every game ... The best game 7 world series was Morris and his 10 inning shutout , the second best game 7 world series was losing to sandy Koufax in 1965 and the 3rd best game 7 was the 1987 world series with viola winning the series MVP... The last 3 greatest Twins teams are in correct order , see you tomorrow night for game 7 , 1991 ...
  18. Hey doc ,

    Who's this guy cc5hofteartolate ...

Giving out thumbs down  to everyone  instead of replying with a quote to disagree  ...

I didnt think i deserved one  , got one from him earlier today and asked him to give me a reason  , all I got back was more thumbs down  on other posts and some childish remarks ...

I see you had a blog that I missed and cc5hofyearstolate was all over you  , profile says member since 2015 but I've never noticed him before

I agree with you on this. I think the thumbs down detracts from a civil discussion and I wish that feature would be removed. The first time it was used on me I was quite annoyed. I have decided to ignore the thumbs down. There are many forums that have similar features.

So was I for the same reason, but it's been happening to me for a long time. I just ignore them & hope those who have sense would understand what is happening.

      CCHOF5yearstoolate

I gave you one thumbs down for a bad, cheap joke about the front office and you proceeded to childishly give me 6 thumbs-downs in return and dig up a 3 day old comment and try to be snippy to me.

Don't act like I'm the one who started it when you acted like a toddler after one thumbs down.

  19. No I'm the jolly green giant , im disagreeing with your thumbs down to everyone that doesn't deserve it , they are smarter than a fifth grader and most of the time know what they are talking about .. Your newer to the site and an old saying , if you can't say anything nice about them don't say anything at all ... If i deserve a thumbs down , then okay , but when I don't deserve one I take it personally and so do others , so write a quote and tell me why you disagree ...
  20. Get your facts right , Lewis will definitely start in AA , he has nothing left to prove in A ball and FO is moving this group rapidly but some will fail because of it , Lewis right now it the best of the lot ...
  21. If 5th starters are a dime a dozen , our FO got fleeced again , haha ... Without a quality pitcher behind lopez , we will win enough games to win the division but it won't be enough wins to get out of the wildcard slot ...
  22. This article is spot on ... I have been saying this for years , we have a pitching staff that can be competitive but aren't a playoff contender ... It showed last year what strong pitching can do , Last year we had a very solid starting pitching staff and we made progress in the playoffs but fell short ... Now we are taking a step back in starting pitcher , we are not starting the season with a 1 / 2 punch , behind lopez , hòw long Paddack can stay healthy or on a pitch limit , Ober wasn't bad until he tired and Ryan muffed an injury and second half faltered The time to add a high quality starting pitcher is in the off season by trade because we know the FO doesn't add expensive and long term starting pitchers in free agency ... The the FO seems to be better at trading during off season and has muffed most of the deadline trades ... And if they find a trading partner at the deadline it's very expensive and the teams trading their top starters to desperate teams ( deadline trades ) will want top prospects in return and plenty of them ... We still have time before the season starts to add that quality pitcher at a lesser price than the deadline ... Plus there is a probability of TV revenue contract coming back at 40 million instead of 55 million .... WHY SHOULDN'T WE HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY FOR A QUALITY STARTER AND A PAYROLL OF 135 MILLION ....
  23. DeSclafani doesn't really help for the post season , yes he'll eat up innings during the season ... If the twins are going to get a front of the rotation guy the time is now beforetheseasonstarts , as it is always more expensive at the deadline , and they have been awful in making trades at the deadline ... On paper Topa helps the team in the bullpen , he's a late bloomer with a impressive 2023 , hope he repeats ...
  24. This is a better addition than last year's signing of Gallo , even at 37 Santana should still be a good depth piece ... But I don't understand why they don't value our #9 rated farm system and promote from within , yes we are short handed at first base in the minors but there is still choices there that would probably be as good as Santana ... I do like the signing though ...
