  1. Looking at Boston's starters, Pineda may slot in at #2 until Sale gets back into form.
  2. This is a good write-up, and he's an exciting prospect. Adding him to the 40-man is an absolute no-brainer in the off-season at the very latest. Even if Donaldson isn't traded, he's getting older and could probably stand to take up to 25% of his games at DH. Miranda can also spell Arraez and Kirilloff against tough lefties and DH some himself. If the team somehow has zero injuries, then it will be a good problem to have. The likelihood of that happening when you have Arraez, Donaldson, and Kirilloff on your team is virtually zero though. Miranda could also just rake AAA for another year. He's young enough and has three options. I wouldn't call it service time manipulation either, because he is legitimately blocked by one or more players at all his positions right now.
  3. Let's say hypothetically that Maeda gets the win tonight. I wonder how many times a pitcher (or any player for that matter) has scored a walk-off run and followed it up with a pitching win the next game.
  4. Unless they are blowing it up, I don't see how this helps the Twins. Peraza doesn't even have 200 PAs at AA, so he likely won't be a cog on a contending team in 2022. Everything you covered on Kepler makes me not want him traded. With known controlled costs of all other outfielders not named Buxton, the Twins could even afford for him to be the 4th outfielder with his contract. You may not sign a 4th outfielder to that contract, but you can play an already signed guy that way when you have the Larnachs, Rookers, Kirilloffs and Celestinos making $600K for a couple more years.
  5. Fire Baldelli. If this time of year in this situation isn't the time to see how a guy having a good day on the mound can handle a tough hitter a third time, I don't know what is. Interest in his brand of baseball is waning.
  6. He has 50 major league PAs. At least give him the two months left to adjust to the big leagues. He still has another option, so there's no need to rush into moving him at a low value. If there is room on the 40 for someone like Law or Refsnyder, there is room for Rooker.
  7. Good write up, but I was surprised the performance of a top prospect (good or bad) was omitted. It seems Winder's had the long ball get to him early in AAA. The other numbers still look really good. That was a terrible throw by the CF!
  8. I wanted the Twins to take Allan in the first round of the 2019 draft, and then they took Cavaco. Now we're talking about trading the best pitcher on the team for him. WTF!
  9. This all points to the need to Fire Baldelli!
  10. It would have been nice to see Barnes pitch longer, but the Twins have a microprocessor with bent pins for a manager. Pulling a rookie pitcher at that point shows a total lack of confidence, which is a terrible message to send, regardless of what your f$#king spreadsheet says.
  11. Damn, seems Isola was robbed on that Hitter of the Day award. Also, it seems that Chris Williams just needed some stiffer competition to start playing better.
  12. I wonder what it would take to get Owen Miller from Cleveland. It's not that the Twins need him, but it would be cool to bring back the Minneapolis Millers as the keystone combo for the Minnesota Twins when Noah hopefully graduates in a couple/few years. Marketing department dream right there. ?
  13. Unfortunately for Cleveland, they don't have Trout or Ohtani
  14. Five pitchers, two catchers and only one guy who profiles as lumbering corner dude out of 11 picks. Hopefully, some good substance for the pipeline. Hoping for a lot more pitching tomorrow and then some lottery bats at the trade deadline.
  15. There's one for the jersey stitcher.
  16. Shoemaker is pitcher of the day. Barf!
  17. I don't think targeting the lower level prospects is a bad thing for the Twins situation. It will certainly help with the 40-man crunch and ability to protect a guy like Palacios or Enlow. The return for Berrios, Buxton or Rogers should include a higher level prospect, but lottery tickets for the rest aren't bad hauls.
  18. I'd take Moran over Featherstone. Stiffer competition, lower WHIP and didn't walk 6 per 9 (which is pretty bad).
  19. I'm guessing that wasn't a Snickers bar on top of your cornflakes this morning. Who's on first, so the culprit is still at large.
  20. Lewis, Miranda, Sands, Winder and Enlow all need to be protected. Palacios could be on either side of the 40 line when it's all settled. His fate may lie in what the return looks like with the assumed deadline deals. Barring a second-half explosion, gambles can probably be made with Maciel and Javier.
