  1. I wonder what it would take to get Owen Miller from Cleveland. It's not that the Twins need him, but it would be cool to bring back the Minneapolis Millers as the keystone combo for the Minnesota Twins when Noah hopefully graduates in a couple/few years. Marketing department dream right there. ?
  2. Unfortunately for Cleveland, they don't have Trout or Ohtani
  3. Five pitchers, two catchers and only one guy who profiles as lumbering corner dude out of 11 picks. Hopefully, some good substance for the pipeline. Hoping for a lot more pitching tomorrow and then some lottery bats at the trade deadline.
  4. There's one for the jersey stitcher.
  5. Shoemaker is pitcher of the day. Barf!
  6. I don't think targeting the lower level prospects is a bad thing for the Twins situation. It will certainly help with the 40-man crunch and ability to protect a guy like Palacios or Enlow. The return for Berrios, Buxton or Rogers should include a higher level prospect, but lottery tickets for the rest aren't bad hauls.
  7. I'd take Moran over Featherstone. Stiffer competition, lower WHIP and didn't walk 6 per 9 (which is pretty bad).
  8. I'm guessing that wasn't a Snickers bar on top of your cornflakes this morning. Who's on first, so the culprit is still at large.
  9. Lewis, Miranda, Sands, Winder and Enlow all need to be protected. Palacios could be on either side of the 40 line when it's all settled. His fate may lie in what the return looks like with the assumed deadline deals. Barring a second-half explosion, gambles can probably be made with Maciel and Javier.
  10. Wade's first month of basically being a fulltime player (6/2021) = .250/.290/.473 Cave's first month of basically being a fulltime player (7/2018) = .313/.333/.500 Recency bias is exactly what this is. Cave is also only a year older than Wade. Using this decision to question the self-scouting of the FO is non-sense.
  11. How many rounds is the Rule 5 draft? Two? Three if there are takers? Seems like 29 front offices missed twice (maybe three times) on the chance to draft Miranda. What a bunch of idiots!
  12. Cole in June: 4.64 ERA 25.3% K-Rate 7.14% HR-Rate 7.14% BB-Rate Suck on that thru 2028 at 36 mill per, F#$%!'n Yankees!!
  13. Maybe if Ober is pitching well, he will get a longer leash today. It seems the bullpen could certainly use a longer outing from him.
  14. Don't worry, you aren't the only one who's played mental toy soldiers about this. It's probably best for it to play out in our minds and stay off the field though. ?
  15. De La Trinidad might be one to sell high on at the deadline. He's another LH outfielder who will be stuck behind other young players. He's also rule 5 eligible. Even though the Twins should be sellers, they should try to work the value while it's there. Julien, Steer and Miranda should all be promoted, and they all can basically replace the guy promoted in front of them. The Twins should easily be able to show one of Descalso, Tomscha or Johnson the door at St. Paul to accommodate these promotions.
  16. It's definitely been one of the most over-estimated and most poorly managed. Happ, Shoemaker and Colome have been absolute duds. Maeda and Pineda have been injured. Dobnak, Thorpe and Jax have been spun around and turned upside down (mostly due to the lack of output of the previously mentioned gang of five). Dobnak apparently can't really throw his newly polished slider, but he's still sent out there anyway. Stashak looked hurt a long time before he was finally sent to the IL. The worst part about it is that most of the one and done contracts are invested in these low output players, and they won't command anything in return at the deadline.
  17. I can't wait for the purge, so that some of these guys like Moran can get a look.
  18. If players keep dropping like flies to injury, he should have ample opportunity. Donaldson being out for a month with a calf is a good bet over the next season and a half. Add in Arraez' knee, Polanco's ankle and Gordon's belly, and I'm pretty sure he'll get a chance.
  19. Well, after this coming weekend, the Twins should be in position to draft the next Kohl Stewart with the 4th pick in the 2022 draft.
  20. That Funderburk line is pretty impressive. Looks like he gave up a blind squirrel homer and then wild pitched a guy around the bases. Hopefully, the system can polish the edges and develop a pitcher here.
