Yeah, we'll see if 1) There is a season in 2027, and 2) If Ryan is still here when that happens. I wouldn't be shocked if they try to get the most value out of him now, but who knows.

I do think Bradley and Abel both have playoff starter potential. I know Pablo does, but hopefully he comes back healthy. After that, if ownership truly does want to win, maybe there is another addition either via free agency or trade.

I also think Prielipp has earned another shot in the rotation. Good to see him get the innings this year.

And then what? Zebby has looked fine at times. Kremer has another year of control. I can't imagine Ober is back but who knows.

Offseason will be interesting. Hopefully there is a season on time in 2027

He is not even close to first in OPS, Jeffers and Buxton are well in front of him and so is Larnach.  He is third in RBI's with 71 because he has been hitting in the 3-5 spots in the order consistently most of the year, I would like to have more if you are hitting in those spots.

So then it depends on what other moves are made. It FEELS like so much uncertainty around who will be GM, heck who will be owner, and what direction they go. And that's on top of uncertainty around if there is a season to prepare for.

ERod could be here for that role if they are going to insist on playing Larnach every day.  We basically have three guys that have no role and they won't use sitting on the bench.

So his stuff looks better but can he throw it consistently for strikes.  

The Pohlads are not selling this offseason, they will be here.  And there will be a season next year, it might be start a few weeks late but I do not believe we will lose the season, there is too much money at stake.

You have more optimism on all of the mlb owners agreeing on anything collectively than I do. I hope you are right.

Even then, let's say Abel isn't ready to be in the rotation. I can see him starting the year as the long man/6th man at that point too and building up. Have to think they want 10-12 guys between the majors and AAA/AA who would provide quality starts throughout the year.

Really poor at bats led to the double plays, that is what has me more upset with him.  He does that kind of  half swing like he's not committed to it and then it ends up being a weak grounder.

I never said that, I said what I thought the best use of him was.  He has had two major slumps this year and everyone just said oh well.  He is not a middle of the order bat for a contending team.  In the right role he could be a valuable contributor to a winning team.  But that is not as an every day player hitting in the middle of the lineup.

When checks start being missed on both sides is when I believe a settlement will be reached at the latest.  There is too much money at stake for both sides to let it go too long.

But I do agree, no one wants to miss 2027. Baseball only came back after the 1994 strike because of Mcgwire and Sosa hitting bombs. Longer term, the value of baseball would take an enormous hit if they do miss the season.

That said, people who deal only with private equity have no soul whatsoever. When have they ever cared about what's good for the populace? That's what I fear, that it's ONLY numbers.

Billionaires don't become billionaires by giving up income.  And not all expenses end with a lockout.  And there are a vast majority of players who are not millionaires.  And they are ones that will become more vocal when checks are missed.  Unfortunately it is the agents of the top players pushing the agenda but there comes a point every time where the lower level players start demanding to be heard.  Yes even the minimum salary is more than you and I will make but it is for a limited time and they need to maximize their earnings.

If fans really want to influence things to get a quicker settlement, particularly if they are pro-player, they should start boycotting all of the games immediately, including the playoffs. Player salaries are guaranteed, so they won't lose any income, but owners would take a big hit.

No that was my comment....you have changed my mind on his worth... 🙂..P.S. .MLB stats are based on 3.1 plate appearances each game...trips to the batters box...Jackson has a 309 BA if one just looks at his average top for the Twins...Buxton has not even appeared in half of the games this season...Jeffers about 55% ...so one needs to put it all in context ...you can count Jeffers as having a higher OPS ...but MLB would not consider it in overall due to the lack of plate appearances...You could probably count Jackson also..and others...anyways..I am done with this topic..enjoy the remaining games and hope a few games will be joyful for all of us

Yes, Royce is back to not keeping his hands in, and trying to pull every dang  pitch. If he would  just hit gap to gap and use the whole field, the power would come. He has plenty of power, just out of whack on approach again.  Back into full chase mode instead of being more selective at what he swings at.
