Taj is our best pitcher after Joe, but nowhere near an ace, he is a #3 pitcher.

I take Taj over Joe even back in April this year. Taj has been better more often in my opinion, and is better longer into a season.

Of course...prettymuch like that in all pro sports when money moves the game...in the old days ballplayer had to play...they even tool parttime jobs during the off season......this LSU news on them taking back former professional NFL players into the college ranks only makes it worse...college players gain financially nowadays also.....

it all sucks ,   take me back to baseball in the sixty and 70 ,s

My concern with Taj, is he loses focuses and at times just can't find the strike zone.  For me, your top two pitchers shouldn't have that problem as often as Taj does.  Not that it happens every time but more than it should.

Caratini has a 2 year contract..Will be back...Jeffers doubtful in my view.. really not comfortable with a catatini Jackson tandem

I never understood the Caratini signing if this was the plan.  He has never been the number 1  catcher and is now in his mid thirties, typical Falvey signing.

Pablo is the ace if one needs to be anointed.

And he’s really not an ace on a good team

Should’ve kept Gasper. Even Wade Boggs is singing his praises: “He is the real deal.”

Gasper is not the answer behind the plate and we will see if he is anything more than a AAAA player that is on a heater.

Arod, Ted Williams, Vlad Sr.....long swings...

Not as long as his, but you’re talking about Hall of Fame players. He will have to shorten up his swing or he won’t even touch a 200 batting average.

his swing is way too long to succeed in a major leagues

He still has a SSS, but his swing is 7.1 feet; the average MLB swing is 7.3 feet.

His bat speed is 72.0 MPH, average MLB bat speed is 71.7.

Right now he is consistently late and under the ball, he also swings about half as much as the average major league player. As his pitch recognition improves so should his results
