How about take a pitch in the top of the ninth? That was pathetic. No chance with those at bats. Like to see the Twins playing the Brewers tough. Was worried after those KC games.

Looked just like the Twins vs. Astros playoff games in 2023.

TC is fundamentally unsound...

Agreed. That giant head on top of a bi-pedal body is just a recipe for balance issues.

They have been practicing since they were six years old. Derek Shelton has been their manager for five months. Maybe he overwrote all the other practices they had their entire lives and made them dumber in 5 months.

It's honestly Pohlad's fault. He agreed to sign these players knowing full well they weren't MVP-ready yet. Like, when he's running fielding drills, does Tom even correct the mistakes?

Lol, the decisions on a baseball field are extremely simple, the only reason players can't execute is due to lack of practice...

Clearly you have never played baseball past your youth and have zero experience working with young people. Screaming at the radio, the statistics on your screen, or even the TV are wild reactions. The idea that building a house, cleaning a building, serving food, or any other occupation is "extremely simple" is beyond retort. There are technical devices in play to help pilots manage errors while flying an airplane. In many jobs there are supervisors, managers, computer programs, etc. to catch problems. I'm not aware of any computerization/ buttons available to MLB managers to ensure perfection from their players. Practice? Are we talkin' bout practice? Really?

If that were actually true this team wouldn't be making so many mental errors...

If the players he was assigned aren't good at playing defense, the original comment is true.

He is rearranging the defense on the fly because players have been playing the wrong positions for years. That is requiring a lot of learning on the job.

Also, the manager can’t think for the players in the field. Some players are better at playing baseball than others. Kody Clemens knows what to do in every situation. Does Shelton get credit for Kody’s baseball smarts?

Fine if you want to rearrange the defense, but keep guys at one position, they can't keep switching up game to game or even within a game on an everyday basis.

Some can (Kody) others can’t.

I’ve been critical of Funderburk forever. He has really pitched well for about a month or a little longer. He throws way more strikes than before. Royce also made a couple of nice plays in the field - he could be a great fielding first baseman. The Twins might be the worst team in the league for cutoff plays and overall outfield plays. They so frequently over throw the cutoff man or throw to the wrong base it’s maddening. I don’t know what to do with Keaschall. I love his hustle and offensive profile but the guy is just lost in the field and his arm is really bad.

Concur on all points.

Watching the games over the last week its easy to see that Clemens needs to take a seat. He has become an automatic out, with his only hit being a bunt. And Keaschall is a player without a position. He can't field at 2nd and he can't throw from the OF. With Lewis now getting most of the play at 1st that also means he can't play there. He may need to go to St Paul and Jenkins take his spot. I don't know if his throwing a baseball can be fixed or not but it's not working as is. It is a real problem for the team and their chances going forward.

This comment aged well.  😄

Brewers just grind out at bats Twins are improving in this area. As I have said before if the Twins can mirror Brewer baseball operations we will have a baseball team worthy of support. This year we have taken a small step. Hoping Tom is a man of his word and next year we continue to take another step or maybe 2.
