I don’t feel sorry for you (or me😉)…it’s the poor laddies born after the eighties that have been brainwashed into believing that possibly stumbling into a 6th seed in the postseason is a righteous goal

I was born in 86 and just missed all the fun

This is what happens when you gut payroll and your draft picks are hurt or you refuse to promote hitters and keep terrible players instead.

And most of their draft picks have just been bad... Larnach, Wallner, and Lewis are their primary successes. Jeffers has probably been the regime's best draft pick.

No one is trading for Josh Bell.

At most, a DFA trade or a throw-in like Ty France was last year. Even then, France was hitting better than this and wasn't close to as old.

All the while, opposing teams throw pitching debuts at us with great frequency, and we are Minnesota Nice and make them consistency look like the next Cy Young candidate. We offer any excuse we can come up with for our inept debuts, but facilitate the other team’s.

Didn’t we beat up on the Red Sox guy making his MLB debut?

This is why MLB keeps the stats for us, so we don't have to rely on small samples and personal recollection.

I'm of the opinion that there is a negative trend for the Twins like people suggest.  But all baseball data is "noisy" and there will be outliers in either direction.  So it's hard to make the case because the trend line won't be absolute.  Even with good, accurate, complete data, it's still hard to separate the wheat from the chaff when looking for something.

Parades,   after being thrown into a zero position ,  Kid did fine !!   but probably back to ST Paul ,   Tell us there PLAN!!!!!             BROOKS Bombs again

There plan has been to play Outman and leave every decent uninjured player in AAA  , fedko or one might spark something , seem like a good bat and plays hard , seem like Keirsey Jr and that big guy McCusker has made them gun shy ...

I don't want to see wallner or Lewis until they have proven again that they have done everything possible in AAA before being promoted...

An anomaly doesn’t change the paradigm, does it?

After that rough situation to be put in for you debut, Paredes settled in well overall. 3.2IP, 2H, 1ER, 3BB, 3K with the 3 walks being the most he's given up in a game this year. Obviously just filling space for now and will end up back in St. Paul soon-ish, but not a bad debut.

The most important part of relief is inherited runners scoring. That commonly gets left out of the quoted stat line.

I was basically trying to say what @ashbury said but it a little snarkier way.

I believe you're falling into the confirmation bias trap. You saw something happen, remembered other times it might have happened and then declared that it always happens. But it doesn't always happen. You just choose to remember the times that it does.

If this is really a league wide thing, then there needs to be huge changes in how pitchers are developed from a young age. But ober isn’t even a hard thrower. I don’t get it.

A 90 mph fastball is detrimental to your arm's health.  "A highly unnatural act" as described by Sandy Kofax.

He never said what his curve was...

The autocorrect changed consistently to consistency and I didn’t notice, but I wasn’t saying always. Consistent trends/occurrences will have anomalies. If you haven’t noticed it happening, well, you haven’t noticed. It’s not worth the time in my life for a deep dive. I tend to agree with Ashbury who is ……. “of the opinion that there is a negative trend for the Twins like people suggest.”
