What a luxury to have a designated closer. Another poor defensive game that leads to the loss….. and not the best pitching either. The lost ball in the sun, led to five extra runs. Probably a different game if that is caught.

Lost count of how many times I read here that having a designated closer is essentially meaningless. Not sure it would matter for this particular team, but it does matter.

To me, the key blunder was Shelton bringing Funderburk back out instead of going to Klein with a clean inning ahead. Just dumb.
