SteveLV Verified Member Posted February 27 Posted February 27 This team is so frickin' bad. It is going to be a LONG season, folks. The idea that they are "competitive" is an insult to anyone's intelligence. Who do they think they are kidding? Vanimal46 and Patzky 2
RpR Verified Member Posted February 27 Posted February 27 The Yankees are 5-2, the Twins are 2-5, this game probably shows why.

RpR Verified Member Posted February 27 Posted February 27 If the New York sports writers pay much attention to Spring Training, I can imagine they will once again roast the Twins after this game.
Danchat Verified Member Posted February 27 Posted February 27 15 to 1, woof! It's not often you see a team score 15 runs on only 11 hits. Patzky 1
SteveLV Verified Member Posted February 27 Posted February 27 Raya has been a pro pitcher for a number of years now. If he is incapable of throwing strikes---much less hit his spots--he can't be a pitcher. Parfigliano and RpR 2

We already blew it selling high on Pablo Lopez. If we miss the opportunity with Joe Ryan it will set this organization back years.

We already blew it selling high on Pablo Lopez. If we miss the opportunity with Joe Ryan it will set this organization back years. I have been on this bus since it became evident the talk of building a contender around Ryan/Lopez was not just positioning for a good trade return. It's really too bad because this team was really well positioned to rebuild in a relatively short period of time. Of course, that remains true, but they will have lost the opportunity to adda couple of important pieces. Joe Pohlad and Falvey were not great but now we have a Pohlad that thinks he knows how to run a baseball team. Doing a 180 when you have started the rebuild process does not suggest competence. Thinking you are going to turn a 70-win team into a contender while doing virtually nothing to improve the team does not suggest competence. How smart do you have to be to look at well-run organizations like the Cardinals and Brewers and follow their lead. I have never had so little faith in this organization. I am confident some contributors will come from the depth we have in the minors. We will get better. We just will never be a real contender until we get rid of the Pohlads and I have never been in that camp. Now I am. I Miss The Lakes, Vanimal46 and Linus 3

Jim H Verified Member Posted February 28 Posted February 28 I certainty don't want to defend the Twins after allowing 17 runs. I would like to point out that of 10 pitchers that appeared in that game, only Sands has much of a chance of starting the year with the Twins. It is early in spring training. RpR 1

USAFChief Twins Daily Contributor Posted February 28 Posted February 28 Ryan in mid season form. Bases loaded, 1 out, routine 6-4-3 inning ending DP. On a 1-0 pitch. Sigh...
