Whens someone gonna ask Rocco why he constantly changes the batting order and lineup. When one lineup is successful, the very next day it's the complete opposite. I say pick a solid producing order and make only slight substitutions depending on who's on the mound. Players need some consistency.

So we have expanded rosters and we are a non playoff team and we have position players pitching. I don’t get it, I just don’t get it. And Monday was an off day.

I'm having trouble paying attention too, but Monday wasn't an off day. The Twins beat the Angels in Anaheim.

No, really. It's true!

I think Chris Gimenez did it in 2018.  I was hoping Big Sexy would hit one when he pitched for us.

Good catch , I forgot about that one ..

Still been along time since a real twins pitcher that could really hit and kaat was one of them ...

I liked the national league when they didn't have the DH and pitchers had to hit , there was alot of good pitchers that could hit and help there cause in winning a game ...

I really don't understand. With a season this lost, why are we not using the expanded roster to audition young guys for positions next year? Outman is beyond embarrassing with his 50 percent K rate. Why not give Mccusker starts, he's already on the roster. Why not let Fedko get starts at first to see if he's a viable option there next year. We should be holding open auditions in the pen especially. Other than Sands and Topa, I don't expect any of these guys to be back next year, so why not try out guys like Raya, Adams, Prelipp, Morris or anyone else who looks like they can remotely get outs. We have major holes in our roster to fill, why the heck not use the rest of the year to see if we can fill any of them internally?!?

Well, when one of your "pitchers" is Pierson Ohl, it makes sense.

Seen more than enough of that guy already.

Funderburk, Adams and Ohl are getting plenty of innings in the bullpen.

He's pitched 22 innings.

This is the problem with people constantly asking for the next minor leaguer to be promoted to "see if they can help". The Twins know a tiny bit more about whether Ohl can help than they did before they promoted him. They knew his pitch mix and how effective his pitches were likely to be and he's performing within the most likely range of expectations given how he pitched in the minors. Is there a benefit to the Twins in calling up the next guy who was worse than Ohl to see how that guy will do?

Many commenters seem to dislike Martin, but love Wallner.  I would bet my next mortgage payment that Wallner falls below the Mendoza Line by the end of the season, while Martin is currently hitting over .300.  It's baseball player analysis distortion run wild!

Spin your high-falutin' rate analytics like batting average any way you wish.  In the month of August, Martin and Wallner had nearly the same number of plate appearances (81 and 91 respectively), and Martin scored 9 times while Wallner scored 13 runs. Martin had 2 RBIs and Wallner had 13.

Wallner's rate stats in September are ugly, no question.  Still, he has 4 runs so far this month, and 4 RBIs.  Martin has 6 runs and 0 RBIs.  You would think a batting average difference of .161 to .385 in the month would have a bigger impact on the most important batting stats, those measuring the scoring of runs.

Plus Martin is smaller than Wallner and doesn't cost as much to feed.  The Pohlads like that.

Neither are the Pirates IIRC.

Edit - No, I was wrong. It's the Nats, Angels, Rockies, and Cardinals.

There are still some questions about whether the Angels and Cardinals will be included.
