Chembry Verified Member Posted August 1, 2025 Posted August 1, 2025 I will take a stab: Position players: Outman, Roden, Keaschall, Martin, Julien, and Bride Pitchers: Ober...Beyond that, no clue...
Craig Arko Old-Timey Member Posted August 1, 2025 Posted August 1, 2025 Four position players and six(!) pitchers. Mike Sixel 1
FlyingFinn Verified Member Posted August 1, 2025 Posted August 1, 2025 Adams and Ohl (if the rules allow for an exception to the 15 day recall rule), Ramirez, Urena, McCaughan, Ober for pitchers. Keaschall, Julien, Martin, Outman (McCusker would be the other option). Edit: Gillispie and Baker if Adams and Ohl can't be recalled (we need some guys we can DFA when Adams and Ohl can be recalled plus I predict Presley will be signed).

How is Bride even on this roster if you are trying to gather data for the future? He's not part of the future at all. Danchat 1

From the Cub Reporter - Restrictions on Optioning/Recalling Players to/from the Minors (emphasis mine): EXCEPTIONS: The player is traded or claimed off waivers, is recalled as the extra man for a doubleheader (second game of the doubleheader only if two games were scheduled after a postponed or suspended game from the previous day) or other circumstances, is recalled to replace a player on the MLB Active List (26-man roster) who is traded, claimed off waivers, or placed on the MLB Injured List, Bereavement/Family Medical Emergency List, Paternity Leave List, or Restricted List (but only pursuant to a suspension or administrative leave resulting from a violation or possible violation of the joint MLB-MLBPA JDV policy or a suspension resulting from a violation of the joint MLB-MLBPA JDPTP policy), or is recalled and then optioned back to the minors prior to a game being played where the game is postponed or cancelled. whosafraidofluigirussolo Verified Member Posted August 1, 2025 Posted August 1, 2025 FWIW, the Twins 40-man roster as of right now (early afternoon) includes a couple guys from the trades who are indicated as being in the minors (Abel, Outman); and a couple guys who are not (Bradley, Roden), though they're not listed on the active roster yet. Could be a lag in updating data but I'd bet both Bradley and Roden are formally on the active roster by evening. Ryan Fitzgerald almost has to come up as the backup shortstop, no? Outman seems to fill a Keirsey-like role until and unless the Outman reclamation project takes off. I could see them wanting to start that project at AAA, and I also could see the major league staff wanting to get a look at him. Hopefully they won't see a need to have him and Keirsey in the majors at the same time. Otto von Ballpark and Mike Sixel 2

Mike Sixel Old-Timey Member Posted August 1, 2025 Posted August 1, 2025 They traded a useful RP for a guy that can't beat out Kiersey for a roster spot, even though he's 28......or am I mixing up who went for whom?

I expect lots of roster moves the next 2 months. LOL Erasmo Ramirez, didn’t realize he was still pitching. Yes we got Outman for Beef Stew. Mike Sixel 1

According to the Saints roster, Outman hasn't reported yet. My guess is that's why he wasn't called up.
Otto von Ballpark Old-Timey Member Posted August 1, 2025 Posted August 1, 2025 Outman has been on the Dodgers bench the past month, playing sparingly, so perhaps they want him to knock the rust off in AAA for a bit (and try to get his AAA K% down from 30.3% before testing him against MLB competition again?). Danchat Old-Timey Member Posted August 1, 2025 Posted August 1, 2025 Ramirez and Urena... two mid 30s relievers who haven't been good for years. Tonkin is legitimately their 3rd best guy. Yikes, man. They have to start moving some AAA/AA starters to the pen if they want to field even a mediocre pen for 2026. jaimedude and Mike Sixel 2
Otto von Ballpark Old-Timey Member Posted August 1, 2025 Posted August 1, 2025 Abel and Bradley both officially optioned now too. Unless we lose another active player to waivers/IL/etc., Bradley can't be recalled until August 8 (due to the 15 day minimum for pitchers), so he will likely make at least one start for St. Paul. Still one spot open for tonight...
