Alcalá has an option available, but can refuse due to his accrued service time. If he refuses (happens about 99% of the time), he would have to be DFA’d to be taken off the major league roster. Salary shouldn’t matter much, he doesn’t make much over the major league minimum. If DFA’d the Twins might be able to make a trade rather than just let him be claimed.
