My guess is Buxton and Wallner should replace Mccusker and Keirsey. Keaschal will replace Bride. In the meantime, maybe we keep Bride and send Lewis to St Paul to try and find his swing. We cannot continue to run out a major league lineup that has 3 or 4 guys hitting under .200.....

The "good" thing is injuries usually have a way of resolving this sort of roster crunch for us? It will be interesting to see whether Kiersey or Bride go down when Buxton & Wallner are both back. In terms of role, keeping Kiersey makes the most sense: he's really just there to be a defensive replacement/pinch runner, which Bride can't do. But he's also a zero at the plate.  The other aspect is if you waive Bride, will he get picked up by someone else who needs the fill-in & hope that he finds his old form skill set that Bride brings? This front office has been very hesitant to let go of an asset for nothing and do anything that could deplete their options for depth in the future.

Neither Kiersey or Bride have done enough to make keeping them important, frankly, and we're no longer at a point where we simply don't have a warm body who can play 3B with Lewis back, Lee & Castro available along with Correa being back and coverage available for him too. Clemens is the one who has earned playing time as a waiver-wire guy. I'd probably move on from Bride just because Kiersey has some utility beyond his (lack of) bat and can give guys like Wallner, Larnach, and Buxton time off their feet in the field.

But the clock is ticking on one of them for sure.

To add to my "Bride likely wouldn't make it through waivers" comment above, the Twins actually traded for him by sending "cash considerations" to the Marlins.

With how he has done for the Twins in comparison to how he had started the season in Miami, I'd suspect they could trade him to someone for either cash considerations or somebody way down the other team's lottery pick list.

Keep Bride for as long as you can.  He has earned it.  Kiersey can't hit major league Pitching but can play some defense.  I'm losing confidence in Lewis.  The I don't do slumps guy has had many slumps since and is looking awful at the plate again.  Go Twins!!

Honest truth is Lewis and Castro are hurting the team, Lewis on offense and Castro on offense and defense. Castro’s defense in the Tampa Bay game where he failed to field 3 consecutive balls to LF and let one of them kick way across the field was Delmon Young-ish. And his hitting has been abysmal.

Wasn't that Larnach?

I think Bride stays on the roster until Keaschall returns, unless one of Miranda/Julien/Martin and even Gasper makes it too hard to keep them in AAA.

Maybe Lewis gets a "mystery injury" and gets a 10 day IL "reset" to accommodate this also...

Wallner/Buxton > McCusker/Kiersey Jr., so I don't think there is a question there. McCusker could still turn into a feel-good story...

This is Lewis last two years in AAA; 10 days is a waste of Gardenhire's time.

Wallner is crushing it in AAA. Put him in the lineup.

and watch him hit 17 home runs in Safeco... er T-Mobile Park while staring down Mitch Garver and mouthing... "What, you can't do this here? Man, that sucks!"

Something like that.

It was Castro doing the Delvin spinaroo dance on that pop fly that dropped and had other issues out there also. A very WTF is going on with Castro kind of game.

Reliever Kody Funderburk entered with one out in the eighth inning and surrendered two singles. Funderburk then recorded a second out and appeared to escape the jam when José Caballero hit another, albeit deeper, drive to left.

Larnach looked as if he had a read on the play, but said his initial jump off the bat left him out of sorts. As he approached the left-field fence, Larnach jumped and whiffed on Caballero’s fly ball, which fell in for a crushing two-run double. Danny Jansen followed with a two-run homer off Funderburk to put the contest out of reach.

“On the initial hit, I (took) the wrong jump, and then I had to reroute myself,” Larnach said. “You’re not necessarily carrying to the ball. Instead of being there, you’re drifting. And then when I hear the track, I gave myself a few steps and I jumped. I think the combination of those two things didn’t put me in a good spot. And I completely own that. But it’s baseball, man. It happens. You obviously don’t want it to happen. That’s on me, that entire inning.”

I've thought it would be nonsense to send Lewis to the minors, but his slump has been epic and not in a good way. Most of his outs have been weak contact although yesterday he hit the ball hard (I didn't see the game). Whatever it takes to right the ship for Royce Lewis should be done and a trip to the minors or back to the IL if the effects of the injury are lingering, should be in play. Bride isn't exciting, but he is competent and right now he's hitting much better than Royce Lewis.

Agreed, Larnach lost his GPS on 2 of those catchable flys . . . bad. I was thinking of Tuesdays 4-2 win where in the 1st inning Willi had trouble with Lowe's pop fly, circling it and finding nothing, plus further difficulties out there. Definitely way too much LF hijinx for my liking.

And Larnach used it as an excuse, instead of saying -  he just screwed up.

Wrong

"That’s on me, that entire inning.” - Trevor Larnach

"But it’s baseball, man. It happens." Trevor Larnach

Without that - I would agree with you but he babbled that stupidity.

I forget that baseball players are selected, above all else, for their public speaking skills.

They should also be held in utter disdain for any and all physical or mental miscues.

They are well paid professionals, excuses are lame, but nowadays sadly common.
