Except Castro's fielding is inadequate no matter where he plays. And last year was his peak at the plate. (I see the future 😇

We may be SOL until Keaschall gets back.

A couple cleanups:

Beautiful day at TF. Except for the offense.

There is no such thing as "tie goes to the runner." In fact, there is no such thing as a "tie." Runner is out or safe, beats the play or doesn't.

The 0-2 hits given up are unforgivable. Simply can't happen.

Apparently Monday. Several people have said Buxton is going to Tampa.

And he's only semi-competent from time to time.  I mean, we've all seen what a strikeout machine he can become for long stretches of time.

If he's in CF Bader and Larnach are in LF and RF and we don't need to have Willi McCusker or Others out there.

Royce isn't Danny Valencia. While his hot streak to start his career might have been a bit of an overreach, I think folks are giving up too soon on him.

With that said, his mechanics at the plate suck right now and they have for a while. Even going back to last year. He doesn't trust his lower body at all.

They're not sending him to the minors so I don't know how they fix it. I thought he was breaking out of the slump last weekend but this home stand set him back.

The other part of the problem is that Correa isn't really hitting. Buxton and Wallner are out. Royce's struggles are magnified and the Twins offense can't have him being an automatic out right now.

Lewis to st paul,  d.f.a. Bride  use Lee at third with castro ,  they got plenty of options with 2nd and 3rd base

Hitless wonders need players who know how to use their glove and that is not Lewis ; send him down to A ball like they did Sano,

They have zero known options and using crap shoot rookies would be asinine.

I agree but it's hard to fault this pitch sequence.

As a defensive player, he's extremely competent.  As an offensive player, the competence comes and goes.

Sure. It has to be called one way or another. In a world that "the umpire is always right", usually comprised of some past umpires (not all, because many past umpires know that they were guessing the best they could) too proud of themselves to admit that a tie can happen but they have to call it one way or the other............sure. But that doesn't mean it wasn't a tie in reality.

The tie goes to the runner was an old little league standard, said here a joke. But it was a suggestion in several umpiring courses that I took at different (lower and non-professional) levels through the years.

And the proof was posted of the plate umpire calling the two pitches strikes that were in almost the exact location, and weren't even very close to being strikes.

THANK YOU! When he starts playing better everyone will be back here saying, "Never doubted him for a second" just like when the team went on their 13 game winning streak

Hmm, similar state of mind that floated around Julien and Miranda awhile back. ☣️

Lewis is not hitting and that has to be a concern. Yes he's back in the lineup but he looks like the Lewis of last September who was totally clueless. Anyone ok with his very slow start at the plate?
