With the military, slow-pitch just took over.  Fast pitch is a pitcher's game; slow-pitch is a hitter's game.  When a team has 1 pitcher and 9-10 hitters, it's hard to cater to the one.  Fast pitch died around 1985 where I was.  I showed up 2 years after it was gone, but there were still a couple of guys who had played. before it died.

If you watch NCAA women’s softball it’s amazing how the pitchers dominate just like what you say the men did back in the day.

 I wonder if athletes today couldn’t make the fast pitch league viable for them again? I know $$$$$?
