Literally by fans not attending games. There is waaaaay too much stench going on for any traditional methods of "righting the ship" to be sufficient. Do. not. attend. games.

I'm going to suggest to my corporate event benefits team that they send out a survey asking employees if we would prefer Twins or TWolves tickets. We've had Twins tickets for years. We've had a lot of turnover and the employee base is younger, so the TWolves might win. That would hurt Joe Pohlads more than anything I can do personally.

That Joe dude needs to be kicked out of the lead owner spot, not media savvy at all, and poor at messaging to fans and media alike. Clearly in over his head.

Do it. I'll hire you as campaign manager when I start the true revolt.

If Joe Pohlad remains lead owner and decision maker, I'm out on tickets next year entirely. I don't care If someone else makes unpopular decisions, but the right size payroll comments, the TV contract fiasco with Bally's and Comcast, the inaction at the trade deadline, if his family doesn't boot him, there will be more fan's like me not buying any tickets. He cannot be face of ownership or more fans will turn on the team.

Two can play this game. I genuinely hope most fans see it the way you do. I think people underestimate the power of the fanbase. The Pohlad's proverbial pocket book is lined with OUR money. We are in control of our money. We can control how well the Pohlad's billion dollar investment works out for them.

I don't care to listen to Morneau drone on as color guy. My least favorite of the group. I enjoy Glen Perkins and Ploufe c a lot more.

Well...yeah, Perkins is my favorite. I must admit though that after listening to Denard not too long ago, I was excited to hear Morneau back in the booth.

Look, he was truly a great player and is a real student of the game. I actually think that he gives the best analysis of incoming pitchers, although, like everything else, he gives too much analysis at times. Also, he bleeds for the Twins, which might be the reason he makes so many excuses for them, and I can understand, although not appreciate that.

The bottom line on Morneau for me is that he never met a soliloquy he didn't like! If the Twins continue with a color guy (or gal) rotation I'd keep him in it, but will hope that he can begin to make his point with the sharpness and precision common to the best in the business.

Sad loss tonight..."there is no joy in Mudville."

The scary part, this team is more than 1 year or 1 move away from being a contender. They took a few major steps back this year.

1.  Starting pitching has maybe two #2 starters on their best days. After that it's a crap shoot. We will need to bolster the SP rotation with at least two reliable starters.

2.  We saw what the minors have to offer. Not much there. Lee showed nothing for the most part, suspect in the field. Martin, did ok, no position for him. Festa, SWR, and Matthew's not MLB ready.  SWR is what he is,  Festa and Matthew's need to grow and learn from this past year.

3. Position players, for the most part, could upgrade at 6 of them. We know that won't happen with the right purse strings, and as mentioned, nothing in the minors ready to fill in of we are being realistic. Is Jenkins ready to be a savior? Prob not yet.

4. The bullpen? Complete disaster and unreliable. Have a few decent arms to build on. Sands, Duran and Jax are the only keepers.

5. With all this to fix, we are years away and may never get there if the owner, front office and manager stay the same.

I for one will wait to see what happens before I invest any more time and money into this franchise.

I concur.  We can hurt the Pohlad family financially if we don't buy the tickets.

I'll go counterpoint on your #2.  Did we really think we had guys in the minors that would step right onto a MLB roster and set the world on fire?  Matthews started the season at High-A for crimony's sake.  He more than exceeded any sort of expectations by getting to The Show as soon as he did.  If you're looking at the youngsters through a 2024 prism, yes, they're not what a team considering itself to be a contender needed to get over the top.  They could have been good supporting actors for spot duty here and there but not the main characters they had to be.  But if you look at this from a 2025 and beyond perspective, this was a great year for them.  They got all of the rookie initiation stuff out of the way and all four players (Lee, SWR, Festa, Zebby) have a baseline that they and the organization can use to build for future goals.  Orrrrrr, they have put stuff on tape for scouts that could make them good bargaining chips.

The guys I'm disappointed by are Lewis, Miranda, Julien, and AK.  Those are young players who had a similar taste of the majors over the last couple of years and with the exception of some mercurial stretches, they were largely subpar the majority of the time.

When I heard Cory's comment after Jeffer's failed bunt and Santana's basepath braincramp..I went hooray! Finally, they are willing to  admit on air that this team is lost at sea. It needed to be said . We all felt it. Those extra inning failures were abysmal failures. We weren't hitting against a bullpen full of A-listers. Miami didn't lose 100 games by accident. Twins heads were not in this game. The extra inning AB's were probably the worst collection of failures all season. Miami tried to hand us the game and we simply refused.

So on a weekend where playoff spots were on the line:

KC swept the Gnats (who are terrible) Detroit swept TB (a good enough team)......and our Twins lost 2 of 3 to the worst team in the National League. Those results do not need critical analysis. Pretty plain.

After Cory's blunt comment he should have just switched Morneau's mic off. Nothing he could say after that would make any sense.

Our old game thread friend @LaBombo I think once said, that, both teams should start the inning with the bases loaded, and one run in 🙂

Can't remember if I did or not, but I'll happily take credit for it if you got a laugh out of it.😉
