Twins_Fan_in_NJ Verified Member Posted September 9, 2024 Posted September 9, 2024 If this pending collapse shows anything, it's that Correa really is indispensable and they better spend the off-season trying to figure out how to keep him healthy. Mike Sixel and Old Crow 2
Whitey333 Verified Member Posted September 9, 2024 Posted September 9, 2024 Well if the Twins are lucky enough to split the homestead the great Kris Atteberry will deem it a great success. Anyway, this team is rudderless. It's been that way over a month. Bad player performances plus we don't have a manager that has a feel for the game. 1985Fan and Old Crow 2

What are your other options? Varland gives you two stable innings and Jr. defensive stability both of which are in short supply.

I strongly suggest they win 5 of them. It would be even better if they could win 7 out 6. That'll be tough though.

LambchoP Verified Member Posted September 9, 2024 Posted September 9, 2024 This team has no fire,no heart and soul, no fight in them whatsoever. It really seems to me, after the trade deadline came and went without any real additions, both Correa and Buxton lost hope in the team and have had zero interest in playing again this year. Like really, Correa can't even try to DH because his feet hurt? Buxton has his MRI come back clean but is too sore to play? These are supposed to be the leaders of this team. With so many youngsters on our team looking for guidance, it is really not a good look for our stars. Lewis and Castro look absolutely cooked. Either Lewis is hurt, or it's a mental thing. With everyone else seemingly given up on the year it's too much pressure for him to have to carry the whole lineup. At least Miranda is still hitting, just not sure where his power went.
1985Fan Verified Member Posted September 9, 2024 Posted September 9, 2024 I’ve heard (not from the Twins, from announcer on one of the national broadcasts) that Miranda’s back is bothering him and is causing him pain. That may explain his reduced power. I give him credit for giving it a go everyday when the team needs you. RpR 1
Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted September 9, 2024 Posted September 9, 2024 I was flipping back and forth between the Vikings and Twins yesterday. The Vikings would run a play and I'd flip to the Twins and get back to the Vikings before the next play. In those moments of watching the Twins. Wacha looked brilliant. He's been good this year but I can help but wonder how much we helped him go from good to brilliant. I was also wondering if the Vikings defense was making Daniel Jones look worse than he was or will be.
David Maro Verified Member Posted September 9, 2024 Posted September 9, 2024 Typical Twins trying to hit 3 run homeruns with no one on base.As I said before the Tigers deserve to be in and probably will be. It also shows that few players have interest in playing a different position each and every day.Because of this you are seeing mistakes all over the field. 1985Fan 1

And I wouldn't be at all surprised if they don't even do that well. A season starting with such promise is slowly swirling right down the toilet and will soon be completely flushed away. Sigh! The players left in the dugout after Sunday's game says it all. Lopez, Larnach and a couple others, just sitting there, staring out onto the field. Looked pretty dejected to me.

No regrets on that decision which as a lifelong Twins fan is a sad comment to write considering they are battling for a playoff spot. This team is hard to watch even with the infusion of youth doing pretty well. Disappointed in ownership and fundamentals of team. I'll be back this week. Same here. Twins fan since 1965. Rarely miss a game... unless for a wedding or funeral 😉 Didn't have any interest in turning it on yesterday. And my instincts were right 😕 wavedog 1
