With the Faces of the Franchise either absent or ineffective, and the shoddy base running and fielding, and lately reversion to stringing bad ABs, and the lefty/righty lineup stubbornness from on high, well, this ain’t a postseason team. I think we just saw one; they came into town and kicked our a** when we had everything to play for.

I couldn't agree more!  Right now, we're not even remotely close to being a playoff caliber team.  And adding back Correa and Buxton isn't likely to move the needle very much. 

Also, it doesn't help that the powers that be don't seem to even care one iota, since all we've gotten from them since well before the trade deadline is a whole lot of crickets chirping and virtually no action to speak of.  A fat lot of good that's doing us.

I sure hope they're proud of themselves for letting the players and the fan base down.

OK, I'm done venting now.

I understand this is just a rant from tonight but this sentence alone is silly. Of course those two moves the needle. We were a 100 win pace team when they were both healthy and contributing.

No, they weren't. 

The Twins winning percentage prior to Correa's injury peaked July 8th at 52-39. 

.571 winning percentage. 

92.5 win pace.

It's getting hard to watch Baldelli put in the wrong arms (who've been giving up lots of runs) at the wrong time. Let the starter try and get out of it first then if they get in a real jam call in a reliever.

Well...looking ahead:

1) Our remaining schedule isn't too bad.

2) Need to start paying attention to NYY and Baltimore...we end with Baltimore. Hopefully the east is settled by then.

3) KC appears to have a much tougher remaining schedule, and we play them 3 more games. KC ends with Atl.

4) KC and Cleveland play 3 more times.

5) Cleveland ends with Houston...hopefully Seattle puts pressure on them (Houston) all the way to the end.
