Provus said last night the Mauer ceremony will start around 5:45 PM, so that's a change from previous ceremonies where they've started at 6 or so and delayed the game. Could be they've listened to complaints or they're trying to beat potential shows sometime after 8 PM. Although latest I saw it may miss TF ciompletely.

The Twins have released Josh Staumont. At least he had mostly good performances before the All-Star break.

Curious if Staumont chose free agency or what? No options left? I would think Staumont could still rebound/find some success. No word or comments from anyone so it is hard to know.

Last seven starts per the MLB website:

Ober: 48.1 IP, 1.86 ERA, 0.77 WHIP, 9 BB, 56 K

López: 44 IP, 2.86 ERA, 0.93 WHIP. 10 BB, 55 K

If these two stay on a roll like this, October will happen. If either SWR or Ryan gets on a roll like this, October will be delightful.

Lefty pitching lineup. We’ve been better against lefties this year than last year. Although not so hot against the Mets. Curious though that Manaea has reverse splits, and we didn’t bat any lefties against him. We only use the data for our batters not their pitchers?

Our best batting lineup has Larnach & Wallner in it.  But they're not allowed to hit against lefties, even if the game is out of hand.

Independent of that, the Mighty Whiteys are apparently limiting Crochet’s innings for the rest of 2024. He has a 74 pitch start and a 64 pitch start since the All Star break. 

they are limiting his innings in their belief that they will need his arm to be stronger in 2025 because they plan to be contenders, or something
