Here's something to think about...

1. Christian Vazquez

2. Kyle Farmer

3. Manny Margot

4. Jay Jackson

5. Steven Okert

6. Caleb Thielbar

If they're all let go after this game, would they get signed by another team? Twins potentially have 6 guys out of a 25 man roster that are just taking up space,

If they were let go. Every one of them would be picked up. It doesn't cost anything and what would they have to lose. The Twins still have to pay them. Not the team that takes a flyer.

Okert and Margot would be claimed. The rest would not due to contract.

the issue is if the twins dumb these guys and bring up replacements, who are the replacements for those replacements when they get injured or fail?

Who is claiming Margot?

And contracts are not an issue for released players. Twins would be on the hook for all but prorated league minimum.

Falvey and Levine pull the puppet strings and the media dances to the music. We get this ridiculous fluff every winter.

Fans love to eat that stuff up.

I didn't phrase the question correctly.

All things being equal, if those players were currently free agents, would another MLB team sign them? I think not.

The OP asked about claimed. If you claim a DFAd player you take over the contract.
Margot plays good defense and can hit lefties well. There’s a role there on most teams.

letting Margot hit righties in a spot to potentially take the lead is on the manager.

You are obviously not aware of the standard for hitting for backup catchers lol

vazquez would be offered a contract (not 10 million) by almost every team in baseball

When this team goes into a funk offensively, they stay there for a while.

Ah yes, the dreaded 18 hour funk. Before scoring 2 yesterday they had over a week with 6 or more.

Perhaps. He does have some tangible value, but I guess for me, when there's so much dead weight elsewhere, having him on the roster is magnified.

On a serious note why not bring up our top prospects? They have to be better than farmer/larnish/jeffers?

Who was going to hit? Does Theilbar swing lefty? Running a bit short on LHH right now and an injury to Kepler doesn't help.

Thielbar would have a better chance than Margot

Margot is a complete waste of space and no well run team voluntarily wastes a roster spot on him.

This is a little harsh, but only a little. I can see why Okert stays as the 7th or 8th arm in the bullpen, Margot as a RH platoon bat v. LH pitching/5th OF, Vasquez as a backup C, and even Farmer as the 26th guy.  There is absolutely no reason for AJckson to be allowed to fail at the MLB level again.  I feel a little pang saying this, but Thielbar is either hurt or cooked. in weither evnt, he can't stay. Moves to make:

Funderburk up, Thielbar to the IL.

Wittgren, Boushley, or Blewitt up, Jackson back on the DFA train.

And with Kepler removing himself from the game and in a big slump anyway,

Lee up, Kepler to the Il (Combo of Castro/Farmer/Lee plays 2B, Martin plays 4-5 days a week in LF and CF).
