stringer bell Verified Member Posted June 17, 2024 Posted June 17, 2024 I forgot about Staumont. He’s been good, but so far hasn’t pitched in high leverage.
IndyTwinsFan Verified Member Posted June 17, 2024 Posted June 17, 2024 Boy. Varland's effectiveness sure ended with a thud. But, he sure helped save the bullpen, nonetheless. Jocko87 and Patzky 2

But he blew a head gasket on the strike zone He wasn't the manager. Is there a rule that a non-manager can't come out? It would explain why the assistant hitting coach for the Twins didn't come out in Pittsburgh last week when he got run.

To be fair, that would have been a groundout to end the inning for the first 150 or so years of baseball. IndyTwinsFan and USAFChief 2

Rosterman Verified Member Posted June 17, 2024 Posted June 17, 2024 No need to push Varland. Be happy with getting to the 6th. You have a full bullpen with Monday's off day in the wings. Or, only needed to pitch twice thru the order. That third turnover wasn't the charm. Especially in a still close game. Patzky 1

USAFChief Twins Daily Contributor Posted June 17, 2024 Posted June 17, 2024 As a "fire Rocco yesterday" guy...I have no problem with how he handled that. Varland was cruising. 2 outs. None of the 4 hits were hit that hard. Aggies7 1

I don't know if there's a rule but I don't think a coach would be employed very long if he comes out of the dugout. That's the managers job. Aggies7 1
Patzky Old-Timey Member Posted June 17, 2024 Posted June 17, 2024 Margot has had some tough luck tonight. I said it.

He isn’t. It’s a doubleheader and Buxton probably won’t play both games of a doubleheader unless a playoff spot is on the line. I would have rather seen Miranda DH and Larnach in left, but that’s me.
