Soderstrom has been a pain in the posterior for this series.

That's derailed too quickly to even get someone warmed up

Technically it was both. He got ejected on the checked swing. But he blew a head gasket on the strike zone

He wasn't the manager.

Is there a rule that a non-manager can't come out?  It would explain why the assistant hitting coach for the Twins didn't come out in Pittsburgh last week when he got run.

Yes, what everyone wants. Extra innings

Extra innings? Already?

Are double headers only 7 innings? I thought that was only 2020 rules

Boy. Varland's effectiveness sure ended with a thud.  But, he sure helped save the bullpen, nonetheless.

To be fair, that would have been a groundout to end the inning for the first 150 or so years of baseball.

Too late with the hook on Varland....

I think Rocco waited one batter too long there.

I forgot about Staumont. He’s been good, but so far hasn’t pitched in high leverage.

That's was high leverage. Nice work.. but a shame how it fell apart so quickly.

No need to push Varland. Be happy with getting to the 6th. You have a full bullpen with Monday's off day in the wings. Or, only needed to pitch twice thru the order. That third turnover wasn't the charm. Especially in a still close game.

Well, I think CC’s RBI  single in the sixth kept Louie in the game for an extra hitter.

As a "fire Rocco yesterday" guy...I have no problem with how he handled that.

Varland was cruising. 2 outs. None of the 4 hits were hit that hard.

I don't know if there's a rule but I don't think a coach would be employed very long if he comes out of the dugout. That's the managers job.

Margot has had some tough luck tonight. I said it.

They need to get one of the LH hitting OFers up pronto.

Margot can't be your every day LFer.

Yeah, if Rocco had taken Varland out, folks would likely be complaining about that.  Can't win 'em all.

Louie still did a nice job for the 4+ innings he was out there.  I have no real problem with him tonight.

He isn’t. It’s a doubleheader and Buxton probably won’t play both games of a doubleheader unless a playoff spot is on the line. I would have rather seen Miranda DH and Larnach in left, but that’s me.
