Paxton had a pretty large reverse split and Rocco loaded up with Right Handers 1 through 9.

All reverse splits are a mirage. All of em

The difference between the good teams and the Twins. Opponents marquee players are doing what's expected. Twins, not so far. Yeah it's early. But how far can they fall before it's too big of a hole to climb out of?

Do the Twins really have any marquee players though? Royce Lewis and Carlos Correa are the only two, IMHO. Buxton is marquee in the field but average at the plate.

I would include Lopez and Duran as marquee/elite players. Correa is elite defensively but not offensively, IMHO.

Yeah, agreed on Lopez / Duran. Was only think of the hitters rather than the pitchers but they are marquee for sure. I think Correa, if healthy, fits the bill both at the plate and in the field.

Betts, Ohtani and Freeman at the top of your lineup. Dodgers are just loaded.

When I said they are in a different league, that's just a fact.  NL vs. AL isn't the only league

The Twins are paying him like he's a marquee player, in the sense that the Twins would not give him $14M/yr if they though he was only ok.

Baseball's a crap shoot. Saw it last year with the Rangers. But if the Dodgers are healthy in October and they fail to win the WS, I wonder how many more opportunities Roberts gets...

True and they need him to be a marquee player. I just don't think that's a realistic ceiling for Buxton.

Oh it's absolutely realistic as a ceiling.  It's not realistic as a 70th percentile outcome, and that is the true problem; the Twins have too many guys with 70th percentile outcomes at the "ok" level, as opposed to good.

I am watching the game on TV and following on MLB, it is wierd, MLB is so far ahead of the TV,  that I know what happens the next pitch before the pitcher throws it.
