Trevor Bauer is doing the media rounds and is seeking forgiveness. I've watched Trevor Bauer's Vlog for years and he seems completely different now. Check out his interview

I am pro-Trevor Bauer, he had a great year in Japan, 2.59 ERA, 160 k's in 156 IP, and 1.13 WHIP.

I think he is the closest we can do in replacing Sonny Gray on the open market. I think the Twins should sign him, What does everyone think?

The sexcapades issues may be largely blown over. A bigger problem is that several teams specifically dumped him because of his personality.

I'm a big believer in giving people a second chance. Apparently Bauer started his burn it all down approach  in high school. He went ignominiously from UCLA to Arizona to Cleveland to Cincinnati to Los Angeles. Never heard or read a word about his time with the Reds or in Japan.

Falvey should at least do some research on Trevor Bauer.

The unanimous call for release by his teammates with the Dodgers (if true) sure painted him in a corner, especially after he was shuttled out of Cleveland due to Francona's utter disgust with Bauer.

Never say never. I also have liked his podcasts in the past. It is entirely possible that therapy, reflection, and time have caused Bauer to make significant changes to how he sees other people and interacts with them as well. People can change.

Trevor Bauer as a pitcher. Why not? Take like or dislike out of the equation. They brought in Donaldson for a year. 3 years ago Carlos Correa was a hated villain. Now he's the Twins assistant GM. If he wants to get back into MLB I'm pretty sure he'd tow the line for whatever team takes a gamble on him. There will be blowback to be sure. But that'll all be forgotten if he has a typical Trevor Bauer season on the mound.

I guess I would like to see a real genuine example of someone who gets another chance and does it right. The baseball success isn't that interesting to me with someone like Trevor Bauer but there are so many young people who eff up their lives and sometimes a shot is all they need to turn everything around. I don't know enough about the guy but I'm sure a contract could be written to include rails.

I'd love it if the Twins signed Bauer.  I think club house "chemistry" is an overblown concern.  If the guy is pitching well, winning games, you can throw chemistry out the window.

I work in a team environment. It really sucks to be stuck with the non team player, narcissistic, biting personality. Especially when they know how to suck up.

I will NEVER forget this clip of Bauer (and then Francona) when Bauer launches a ball over the OF fence and Francona with his, "what the Sam Hill (f..#*#*#*.) is wrong with you?!#*#*#*"). A leopard doesn't change his <s>stripes</s> spots.

Absolute classic/classless blooper/bleeper.

I live in Cincinnati & it’s a real bowl of conservatism. Ownership included, which is probably no big surprise. With Bauer’s talent and the desperation the Reds have for arms to pair with their depth ridden young line-up, I would think there would have least been some conversation…..nothing reported. Seems he may have burned every bridge?

He’d be a good fit in Cub’s land or Boston where people are going to come out & watch no matter who the team signs, IMO. Probably too much buzz & a distraction in NY?

Many wanted to sign the complete moron-child Pham, but get all indignant with Bauer? I didn't follow his situation closely so I'm not sure what to think. He can pitch. A long time ago I watched a video or 2 of his and he was very articulate. If you feel like the clubhouse could absorb someone like Pham then I don't see why Bauer would be any different. As a player Bauer has way more value than Pham. It's a moot point because they won't go this route.

I will say Jomboy is lucky they got Plouffe because the narrator of that older video is annoying as hell.

Edit: It appears he still has one more pending lawsuit plus maybe more on the way, so they can't sign him now.

Edit: After more reading I've had enough. The guy is certainly his own worst enemy. I'd be interested to know how his controversies and indiscretions have played in Japan.

I have no idea where or how you are making this proclamation. There is no doubt that every workplace with several dozen people has opportunity for disagreement. I'm not aware of open/public discussions about many players. Just to be clear, whether it is justified or not, Trevor Bauer had at least one team vote him off the island and several others teams just get rid of him despite his clear expertise as a pitcher. I think there can be differences.

I have suggested in a previous post that I believe in redemption and would like to see a person successfully change their behavior and prove themselves. I don't really know what to think about Trevor Bauer but would like to see something positive occur for once. There are people who contribute very positively to humanity who were once down and out and even criminals at one time.

Ty Cobb, Josh Donaldson, Bauer, Barry Bonds, Ricky Henderson, ad infinitum; all these guys with big egos supported by big numbers can carry teams into the world series.  This is major league baseball, not just some back office.

I have worked with big egos. Anybody who has working in some of the places I have worked  had huge egos. To deals with what you must deal with in healthcare one must have a strong constitution I did not describe people with huge egos. I have not worked in some back office.  Out of civility, I will leave it at that

Cobb went to the World Series his first 3 yeas and lost. The next 25 years not there. Josh Donaldson never there. Bauer went to the World Series with Cleveland. They were there due to Carasco, Clevinger and Kluber. Bauer hasn’t been back since, Bonds played in 1 WS in 22 years.  Ricky Henderson played in one more World Series game than teams he played for.
