time to put last night aside. Cleveland knows they can still do a lot of damage if they win the next 2. Twins need this one. they need a solid effort.

Since a catcher won;t be pitching, I see Gallo is back on the bench!😁

Yeah, no. They needed a sweep. Going 2-1 vs MN still puts them 4 games back with 22 to play, that's life support territory. In either scenario it would also take an all time collapse by the Twins, against the likes of Chicago, Oakland, Anaheim, and Colorado no less, for Cleveland to end up on top of the ALC.

Still alternating catchers, I see.....let's hope that trend ends in the playoffs.

With a day game tomorrow, followed by an off day, Jeffers is going to get two of three in the series. Might as well make it the first and third.

People keep typing, well, sure, but .....the point is, it is still 50/50....and it is clear one is a much better player.

I'm not that confident... I remember well the 2009 Twins (a pleasant memory, for once).  Trailed the Tigers big in September.  5.5 games on September 14!  Still trailed by 2 games with 3 left to play!  Yet, they came back to tie the Tigers, and won the one game playoff.  The Twins got very hot (finished 17-4), while the Tigers played relatively poorly.

Of course, the reward for the Twins was a playoff series with the D*#$ Yankees.

I want a sweep, and even then I won't stop looking over my shoulder until the Guardians are without hope.

Let's give Gray some early run support and get him a win somehow...he deserves it. I hope we don't see any 59 mph cookies from either side tonight! Go Twins!

Well, we did learn one thing last night. The next time we face a starting picture that throws 60 mph, Gallo definitely has to be in the starting lineup.

The lead would effectively be 3, not 4. Cleveland would win the ALC if they ended up tied.

3.5 would be the technical lead with the tiebreaker factor in.

I am of the belief that last night sealed it. But good teams go for the killshot so would love that

Also, we are like 0-6ish when we get to 6 games above .500(might be worse). Its time we finally break that trend and get to a season high 7 games over and a season high 7 game lead.

Lucky 7s tonight. Lets go.

Exceptions prove the rule right? Of course there is still a way for the Twins to bungle this on their own end, but they haven't run into any prolonged slides (good or bad) all year despite being a rather underwhelming team. Cleveland could also get insanely hot, but they've been middling at best for 140 games, Idk why now of all times we'd expect them to turn it on.

Ok, so if the Twins just play .500 baseball, Cleveland has to go 15-7 after taking the next two against MN right? That's a lot to ask of a team that has consistently played slightly sub .500 baseball all year.

It's just like stocks. There is a resistant price they tend to bounce against and drop.

It will be about whoever finds momentum. I am not as confident as some posters seem to be. It will be interesting and again, 1/2 eye on Hinch's Tigers. Have won 4/row -- bumping up against Cole/Yanks tonite.
