Rumor: Yankees Listening To Offers On Pending Free Agents

Well, this doesn't make me cry. The Yankees, currently in last place in the American League East, are now listening to offers on players that will become free agents at season's end.

Most of the names don't interest the Twins; they're expensive, injured, starting pitchers, or all of the above.

But Harrison Bader might be a name of interest to the Twins after several right-handed bats went off the market yesterday. Bader is oft-injured the past two seasons but can play center field and was an above-average bat as recently as the 2021 season (114 OPS+).

What do you think? Out of the remaining names on the market, is Bader one that interests you?

Bader had some moments for the Yankees last October. He seems to be one of those guys that plays better in big spots. Similar to Pham.

Thanks, but no thanks on any Yankees, especially one and dones.  We haven’t had much success dipping in that well in the past and we still have not figured out how to get rid of the last one year rental we signed from them. The last thing we need to do is give the evil empire a cheap, controllable legitimate prospect who comes back to haunt us for years. (Sarcasm font implied - sort of).

If its any consolation, the Yankees will probably wind up trading that cheap, controllable legitimate prospect this winter.

Bader plus something even. Kepler option would carry enough value for a reliever throw in. Maybe throw in a low level prospect to tip the scale.

Yankees are listening simply because that lineup is not that good. Kepler going for Bader. New York fans and press would eat him alive. I'm not big on Kepler but I wouldn't wish that on anyone
