Suddenly I feel like I'm reading an interview with a FEMA or CDC spokesperson.

Not enough acronyms for that.

Well then when the Twins played the Yankees in regular season it must have morphed into post season play.

You gents are rationalizing Twins porr play agains good teams.

No, the Yankees have consistently been a superior team to the Twins over the past 20 years. That explains their head-to-head record in the regular season and postseason. One three-game regular season series isn't great evidence as to which team is better.

I went back and edited to include TSA while you were replying.  Is 3 enough?

What's strawman about it?

How do you explain it then?

One never enters a straw man discussion as plays both ends against the middle.

Not in my experience.

Similarities in use cases

It just gets better!  Now it's technical marketing!

(Just pulling your leg.  I'm apparently with you on the analytic side of things, BTW.)

I'll bite, how do you explain a clearly inferior team winning in the regular season yet floundering in the postseason?  Seems pretty random to me.

In the postseason, teams are forced to run out their best pitchers, as it's win or go home. Not so in the regular season. Success against a team's 3rd, 4th, and 5th starters isn't a great indicator of success against their 1st and 2nd starters.

Yet Chicago took a series from one of the top two teams in the league.

OH MY!

I forgot NOAA.  They would talk in those terms too.

In my experience, they speak almost exclusively in acronyms.  It's dizzying!

Look, it's the White Sox.  When they lose they suck.  When they win it's luck.  Memorize that poem and you'll enjoy our company better. :)

I literally just said that one three-game regular season series isn't great evidence as to which team is superior. A sample of 100+ games is solid evidence.

Probably they have acronyms where an 'N' stands for 'NOAA'.
